The home was warm and welcoming. Quaint backyard with a cute duck. Rooms were sufficient for our needs. Short walk to the beach and seawall. The host was very attentive and nice!

Though this home was built in 1901, it is beautifully remodeled and modern. It has a very spacious kitchen and dining area and a charming sitting room that was so relaxing for our family after a long day playing at the beach just a few minutes’ walk from the house. The sand/mudroom was convenient because of the washer and dryer provided and the bathroom off it helped us keep the beach out of the rest of the living space. The back garden and seating area was arranged with thoughtfulness and would be a welcoming place to hang out and barbecue with family in cooler months. The outdoor shower made it easy to keep the sand outside. The house was provided with plenty of cookware, dishes, and utensils for making meals. It was stocked with plenty of towels and wash clothes for a large family to stay for days without doing the wash. The three bedrooms upstairs were roomy for our family of four, but the house could easily accommodate 8. The master bedroom was a great size, and the master bath area and rainfall shower was a relief after our days of sight seeing. Though located on the edge of a neighborhood, the house had clear views of the Gulf off of the master bedroom balcony that is large enough to host a small party. The spiral staircase to the third story balcony was a wonderful place to drink morning coffee and catch the best views of the Gulf or look out over the Galveston Island skyline. I would highly recommend this home if you’re staying in the Galveston area.
