A beautifully appointed 2br! Felt like home and so close to activities and wonderful restaurants!! Loved all the quaint,cozy seating areas to relax and read! Beautiful front porch for dining or relaxing!! The best VRBO Ive stayed in, they supplied wonderful bath products from a local shop Good Fortune and now Im a customer!! Everything you need is there for you, plus extras like coffee, tea and snacks!! The hosts were so kind and informative!! Stay here, believe me you wont regret it!!!

Special Touches
This was my third visit to the Bear House. Every unit I’ve occupied has been fantastic. Steve and Sharman are always welcoming, even when it’s cold and rainy outside. I love staying here so much. The kitchens are well-equipped. The beds are extremely comfortable. You won’t find better accommodations or nicer hosts in Chattanooga. Added bonus for me, we have family in St. Elmo so it’s really convenient to stay here.

The home was very clean, well stocked with any amenity you could think of. Neighborhood was quiet and within walking distance to neighborhood shops. Especially enjoyed sitting in outdoor conversation spots in the yard. Would definitely stay again if we were ever come back to the area

This was truly a beautiful home. The owners did so well with remodeling the apartments. Everthing you needed was there. The kitchen was my favorite place. Great veiw of the moutian side. My one year old had a great time exploring the property. The owners were very welcoming and also respectful of our privacy. We loved the layout of the apartment. Property is perfect for hanging outside and enjoying beautiful moutian weather. We really enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and surrounding areas.

This is a great place to stay!!!
Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. Everything was great. Very spacious property with lots of added little things. Candy, breakfast bars, water bottles, special soaps in bathroom, tons of storage for just about anything. Close to Chattanooga downtown. We didn’t utilize the patios outside, wish there was time for that, very cute and cozy. Thanks again.

Magical property!
The Bear House is so charming and we loved our stay this last weekend! It’s located at the base of all Lookout Mountain attractions, making it a premier location. We also went over to the Ocoee River and Nickajack Lake (bat experience-so cool) from there and it was an easy drive to and from. Bear House was clean, perfect for couples or families and an absolutely beautiful property. Thank you, Sharman! :-)

What a great place
Everything about this place is spectacular. The location is so closed to all attractions. The rooms are cleaned. The beds are comfortable. The owner goes all his ways to make you feel at home such as free coffee, chocolate, mini snacks. The place has everything you need to cook meals and don't forget the beautiful garden, cool enough to have a glass of wine

Nice clean property - owners were right there to assist with any needs. Easy walk to St Elmo shops/restaurants including a great Cat Cafe. Being walking distance is a huge plus as parking to visit St Elmo shops is at a huge premium and is all pay/metered. This was true for all the places we visited in Chattanooga also (though some restaurants did have limited free parking - check before hand). About 10-15 minute drive from property to downtown Chattanooga. If you are visiting Rock City/Incline/Lookout Mtn. - this is the area to stay vs. downtown. Nice historic district.

Top Notch Accommodations
We had the most wonderful, amazing stay at this property! The hosts were great…they put a lot of work and thought into making this place and our stay very enjoyable! This property is so comfy, homey, & inviting inside and outside…the inside had comfy beds, very nice bathrooms with good storage and lots of storage throughout this property. Snacks, chocolates, and coffee was provided for our convenience. The full size kitchen had all the items you’d need to fix a meal. Washer, dryer and laundry supplies are available too! Since we arrived around dinner time and didn’t want to eat out, we found some boxes of pasta roni in the kitchen and that made a quick & easy meal. The outdoor yard had multiple welcoming areas to relax in. Beautiful gardens! The carved bear statues were fun too! We loved walking a couple of blocks to stores and restaurants…a beautiful setting with Lookout Mountain always in our view. We also enjoyed driving a scenic short drive to downtown Chattanooga too! We will definitely return!

Beautiful, comfortable upstairs 2 bedroom apartment in the St. Elmo historic district. Within walking distance to many amenities. The owners went above expectations in hospitality...snacks, bottled water, kuerig coffee all included. Towels and bedding were top notch! Such a treat.

Great getaway weekend
Charming older home with multiple rental units. Tons of space outside for sitting and enjoying the yard, carved critters, and fall weather with a beverage! 2 very comfortable bedrooms with beds we did not want to get out of. Short drive to downtown Chattanooga and walking distance to good food at 1885. We had no issues with noise even with several rentals on the property. Thanks for the thoughtful snacks in the cabinet! There are some pretty steep stairs but they were good exercise.

The house was very comfy. We loved the bear theme through out. The special touches..from water, loads of snacks and oatmeal and coffee. Extras everywhere you turn. The black makeup face cloth helped. Sorry there wasn’t a brown “little boys” one, we may have ruined the white wash cloth. Our grandson was filthy from playing in dirt. The beds were comfy and the sheet are so soft. The house is supper close to our son so and very convenient to attractions and Chattanooga’s great restaurants. Book you will not be disappointed.

We loved staying here! The personal care these hosts take is outstanding! I had a teenager and young adult and my spouse with me. It was easy to get to the heart of the city, or you can walk to restaurants or the Lookout Mountian incline railway. Highly recommend staying at the Bear House circa 1890!

The perfect location for travelers exploring the Lookout Mtn and downtown Chattanooga attractions. The beds were so comfortable and the property is adorable! Only drawback is that you share the living room and full kitchen area with the guest in the other wing. Luckily we were alone on the top floor for our visit but that would have made it uncomfortable for me and our small children.

We had a fantastic time! The home is better than advertised. Cleanliness is a huge deal for us and this home is immaculate! They think of everything, soap, shampoo, conditioner, clean towels, hair dryer, washer, dryer, laundry soap, dish soap, even q-tips, cotton balls, make up wipes and candy!!!!!. Did I say it was clean? Very beautifully decorated. The home is old but very well maintained with all the amenities you need. TV (with Netflix and Prime video). Told my husband that the only thing that would make this place perfect is if there was a Hallmark Channel and sure enough, there was a Hallmark channel!! They did not skimp on anything, popcorn, microwave, Keurig with coffee pods and creamer and sugar. All kinds of little snack bars and oatmeal! Y’all we are definitely staying here again. One thing I did not realize is that due to the home being older, there were some steep stairs to go up to our room. I had some knee issues so it was hard getting up and down the stairs. But this will not stop us from coming back. By far the best place we have ever visited. We would give it a 10 if we could! Thank you for making us feel so welcomed and comfortable!!!

Everything was amazing. My only complaint ( if you can even call it a " complaint ") would be I understood the listing as a "bath and a half". I'm sure it was my misunderstanding but if more than 2 people stay, there is only one commode. Not to be indelicate, but a half bath indicates 2 commodes to me.... Other than that very small hiccup, EVERYTHING was superb. Beautiful finishes, VERY comfy beds and perfect neighborhood for walking. Be sure to take the incline, T's Pizza but avoid 1885 Grill. Horrible service and mediocre food, over priced

Everything about this property was first rate: furnishings, decor, kitchen supplies, linens and toiletries, and the location was perfect for walking to the St. Elmo business district. I only wish the weather had allowed us to enjoy the wonder outdoor spaces on the property.

Wish I could give 20 stars!
This place was the epitome of hospitality. Besides the cleanliness and beauty of the home -- they thought of everything that made our stay so incredibly convenient and welcoming. Each day that we ventured out, I couldn't wait to get back to enjoy our rental. And the location! We walked a short couple of blocks to St Elmo Presbyterian Church in one direction for a wedding. Then walked there again Sunday for church -- so quaint to see others from the neighborhood walking there, as well, from different directions. Sweet community. And walked just a couple of blocks the other direction for Goodman's Coffee & amazing scones in the mornings and Mr Ts Pizza and Ice Cream one evening. (Incline Railroad and Clumpies Ice Cream also right there. Nice Grocery Store just beyond about a mile). All so convenient and close. Just a few miles drive to Downtown Chattanooga. AMC Theater, Aquarium (one of the country's best in our opinion), walking bridge, and our favorite restaurant, Lupis Pizza. Not far is the Chattanooga Choo Choo. Such fun ambiance. Ambient white lights everywhere. Overall, we love and recommend Chattanooga, and we highly highly without reservation recommend the thoughtful, gracious stay at the Sherfeys on St Elmo Ave.

Very clean, AC worked awesome, beds very comfy, plenty of snacks & water left for us. Only 2 drawbacks are the shower drains slow and there is a main road out front so if you are on front porch it's quite busy noisy---but inside never really felt it was loud. Overall would stay there again.
