The location relative to the airport is decent. However, the pictures for this hotel are extremely misleading. The carpets everywhere are absolutely filthy and need some professional cleaning. It smelled of stale cigarettes in the halls and in our room. The walls are layered with a brown film. The hot water is very limited, if any. The bath faucet was Jerry rigged with a rubber band so the pop up knob could stay up. The whole experience was very disappointing.

everything in room are extremely dirty ,nobody clean room, nobody in front desk, comforter are used without cleaning. Police checked the hotel whole night on April 30. It’s an unsafe place. Keep away from that hotel!

The staff was friendly but my room was not at 4:30 pm I believe this is an emergency housing for the county. The lamp shade were broken, it looked like it had been cleaned by someone who has never been taught how to clean. There is Broken down car that is the first thing you see when you come in the driveway. It has been there awhile

When i was checking in, they told me, "ooh by the way , the AC in your room doesnt work, we dont have another room, and we are not going to fix it, enjoy" I feel that was a trap. if they knew that, i would've liked a heads up, i might've used another hotel. There was no discount or any trial to fix this or to make it better. The hotel is made for extended stay, so i feel i didnt matter since i was staying for 4 days only. The hotel is a bit run down. there are stains on the carpets, everything looks and feel dingy. The room walls have smoke and burn spots especially right over the stove/microwave. The lamp shades have many tears in them. The carpet had stains. The bed sheets and the bathroom were surprisingly clean. But as soon as i used the sink, it start filling up, same thing with the bath/shower. the plumbing need some draino. and even though the rooms are non smoking, there is a very heavy smoke smell in the room Luckily i spent most of my day away from the hotel, so it was ok. I guess i chose a cheap hotel, so i got cheap hotel.

Main stay is the best bang for your buck in Charlotte. The room was spacious and the TV channels selection were pretty good. Everything worked. There was a full functioning kitchen with a kick ass fridge . It was always very cold. The bed was quite comfortable. However, the person who checked me in said " there is no smoking in this hotel " I laughed because it seemed like everyone (but us) in the hotel was smoking almost the entire 5 days at all days. Dogs can be scary sometimes. I saw a pitbull that looked like it was trained by Dwayne Johnson. He was the Dwayne Johnson of pitbulls. The dog was one of the guests. However, I saw that his tail was wagging and he seemed pretty friendly. The carpet on the first floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the seventies. How can anyone complain about anything? The price is so reasonable. You get what you pay for. If people don't like it, they can go to another hotel.

The radio was boring, could not turn it off. Had to unplug it.coulnt find glasses to drink out of. No garbage can in kitchen or bedroom. Recliner was broken, once out, it wouldn't close. Bathtub cracked.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
This place is an ABSOLUTE HORROR! Its DISGUSTING! And I have never felt more unsafe! Broken down cars in the parking lot, people coming & going at all hours… people live in this hotel; it is not a typical hotel. The whole place smells like cannabis and cigarettes… people smoke in the hallways… and I was almost certain we were going to be shanked walking through the place. We left at midnight after the yelling and banging were the last straw. CHOOSE ANYWHERE ELSE!!! Currently trying to get my money back, but they won’t refund it. And unfortunately, hotels.com - who hosts this VERY misleading hotel and its photos- haven’t been much help either. I’m currently “waiting on a decision”. STAY AWAY.

It is a piss hole. Worst I have ever seen. Expedia should not list this place. I left during the night and went to anoth hotel at additional cost to me. It was that bad! What a complete rip off.

I booked this hotel as it was reasonably priced with a kitchenette and close to the freeway. Being next to office buildings, I assumed business clientele. This hotel appears to be transitional housing for folks or low income housing. Everyone was nice I came across, even the kids playing out front were good. The building itself has been used hard, carpets stained, and smelly of cigarettes. The room was clean. Linens and bed checked out clean. Air conditioner could use a cleaning but otherwise no complaints with the room. I would not stay here again. Thankfully it was just me and not my family otherwise we would have found a different place to stay.

Carpets are dirty throughout. Noisy guests, who are mainly locals, often yelling at dogs or children.No staff present besides the front-desk person and they are not even at the front mostly. No visible Security Guards on the compound or in the building! Furniture is old and soiled, like the carpets. Photos on Expedia are misleading and should be updated! The place has a lot of potential given its proximity to Tyvola Park and other hotels but it needs remodeling and having less “shady-looking”, noisy guests. Maybe it’s so cheap that anyone can afford extended stays there! It’s totally different from Extended-Stay America although Mainstay Suites is managed by Choice Hotels, which is surprising, given the low standard.

The lady at the front deak was lovely. Very nice and helped me find a dog friendly place for dinner. I did not stay here though. It was awful. Garbage all over the parking lot, empty bottles thrown everywhere, the room was terrible and i felt very unsafe as a female solo traveller. I ate dinner somewhere else, found a new hotel, and got out of there!

Staff was nice. Broken equipment in the gym which was unfortunate because that was the only reason we booked this location. Saw the same dead roaches in the gym everyday I stayed because no one bothered to clean then up.

The high reviews are all fake or old.
I appreciate that older and inexpensive hotels can have some problems, but this one has a lot. The thermostat did not work, there were 15 empty liquor bottles in the kitchen cabinet, the sink had been backed-up and then not cleaned, the smell of cigarettes, small cigarette burn marks here and there, and finally, previous occupants clearly kept their dogs in the bathroom who tried to chew their way out. Whoever gives this place a 10/10 is seeing something I didn't see.

The property is located in suburb at good and quiet neighborhood. However, The whole first floor that my room was located smelled terribly. The carpet was in a bad shape and whole property smelled like post flood stink. The room stink was horrible. Even though it was cold, I kept the window open. My request to change the room was turned down and they reminded me that the room was prepaid. I had no choice but leave and find another place to stay. Beside the stink, the property and room was very old. The bed springs were very noisy. Any move made a huge noise. The kitchenette cabinet paint was swollen at the bottom indicating this area was flooded and then left alone. The door handles were loose in the bathroom. On top of that, my sleep at the night I that I ended up staying was interrupted by a screaming person next door that randomly screamed his lung out in the middle of the night. Of course this is not hotel’s fault and was bad luck. Overall a very rundown place with nice personnel is what you get.

I liked the lady at the front desk. It was nice that the room had a kitchenette, however their was no pots or anything to cook with. Their were dishes in the dish drainer though. I did not like that their was hair in the bathroom and in the refrigerator. Also in the door of the refrigerator their was residue left behind from something that had been there. The room smelled damp and moldy and really needs to be aired out. The mattress killed my back and I've been home for 2 days now and still in a lot of pain.

Be aware there in minimal cameras in the parking lot. My truck's window was busted out and had items stolen from the from it. The car parked next to mine also was broken into.

Not only was the property completely dirty, First room had no toilet apaer and the smole detecter battery was low and sounding, called the desk and was given the option to come to the front desk for a battery and replace it or move to a different room. Second room had blood on the curtains the chair was worn, no toilet paper in the room and no shower curtain. Called about the tp and curtain was told to come down and get the items.

The carpet in the hallways was dirty. As were the doors to the rooms. But the rooms were clean. However, I did not end up staying. Expedia has them listed as excepting pets but when I got there I was told no cats.

This is one place I would avoid at all costs, I was extremely extremely disappointed in the condition of the hallways and the stairs, it was filthy dirty, the rugs were in terrible condition the doors were all dirty entering into the room. My room reeked so heavily of cigarette smoke, when I woke up at 2 o’clock in the morning my sinuses and mouth taste like smoke I got up packed my belongings and left. The only nice thing about this place was the siding that it was in and the young lady that checked me in was super nice, I’m not sure what this facility is being used for as far as housing people, there were people outside in the common area drinking, I did not feel safe. This is the first time I’ve had this experience with a hotel. I plan to get a hold of the company that owns this facility and let them know that the property is not being taken care of.

The price/value was good. Room was fine, common areas were somewhat rundown. As we travel I think we are seeing deferred maintenance caused by reduced cash flow. In today's market you have to spend more money for nice surroundings but at about 80.00 per night it was on par.

Elevators did not work, had to haul luggage up to the third floor via the stairs. Carpets in the hallways were really dirty, covered in ground in mud. Many of the walls were damaged, bad paint, etc. Room was OK. Breakfast was a muffin and orange in a bag plus an 8 oz bottle of water. That's it. Was hoping for a good breakfast to start the day. I had another non-refundable stay at the hotel in 2 weeks, but I am not going. They can keep the money, I am going to pay for another hotel instead.
