Special house
We loved our stay here. To start, the host was very responsive and accommodating. Always asking us if we needed anything more. They had even preset crab traps waiting for us. We had better success with old fashioned hand lines but caught more than we could eat. The set up was very unique and I got lost for the first hour figuring out the rooms but my kids loved it and claimed the fun zone with the secret door leading up on one side. There's plenty of space for everyone to spread out and not feel on top of one another also. Towels were limitless, kitchen was well equipped. We will definitely be back in the future!

We had 3 generations staying for the week. We enjoyed kayaking on the Hudson, biking, fishing swimming in the pool and relaxing by the water. We ate crabs we caught and steamed ourselves. The owners, Anne and Keith were helpful and accessible for any questions during our stay. Many good memories were made here during this family vacation. I would recommend bringing plenty of bug spray for the mosquitoes. We also enjoyed a day shopping and eating in St Michael’s. Also recommend Black Water Refuge for exploring the Wild Life of the wetlands in the eastern shore.

Family Reunion
Was a great place to have a family reunion - between the dock, the pool and the outside sitting area, there were plenty of opportunities for visiting. Gorgeous, peaceful view of the river.

Great for family vacation
Plenty of room for an extended family of 15. The property was super clean and comfortable. The owners stay in an apartment on the property. They are both very nice, attentive to any issue brought to their attention, but otherwise are pretty much invisible. They even had jazz piano music playing and fresh flowers on the table when we arrived! The pool was clean and safe for the kids who enjoyed the cooling effect in the Chesapeake summer heat and humidity. If you like to pick Maryland Blue Crabs, this is the place. We steamed about 30 large crabs early in our stay, and could have caught many more had put more bait in the traps. There is plenty to do at the house...bicycles, corn hole, board games, fishing, crabbing, kayaking and more. Great location for multi-generational family fun.

Wonderful property!
We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Our family gathered from up and down the East Coast and spent a wonderful week relaxing in the pool, fishing, crabbing, and relaxing. Our hosts were very attentive to all our needs and communication was top-notch. They even gave great recommendations for a day spent out of the house! I would highly recommend staying on this property. Thank you so much for an excellent stay!

Cogar Family Vacation 2023
This place is amazing! Truly a retreat. We travel quite a bit and have never found a home so clean and well-appointed. Keith and Anne maintain the entire property with attention to detail. There were 12 of us, ranging from 1 year old to 67 year old. We cooked every meal and had everything we needed. The home has so much character. We had room to all sit together for meals and areas for games and puzzles. The pool was great. The only disappointment that we had was that the water feeding into the Bay was not recommended for swimming, but that was certainly not the host's fault. We fished and caught crabs for a crab boil. Keith and Anne were on-site and available for any questions we had. Would defenitely stay again!

Something For Everyone Vacation
The property is simply wonderful. There is so much to do for everyone. I love the fact that we can bring our boat and have it docked right outside ready to go. It's also very peaceful and tranquil. Keith and Ann are the greatest. Perfect place to visit......

Fantastic stay - Keith and Ann were great hosts. Kids enjoyed crabbing on their own dock and having a private pool. We also rented a boat from blackwater adventures - Matt delivered the boat right to the house dock and provided all of the necessary instructions and advice.

Gracious, Fun-Filled Family Vacation
The home overlooking the water was clean, well-appointed, comfortable and spacious. The quirkiness of the rooms allowed for several spaces where teens, children and adults could gather separately or together. The dock was perfect for crabbing, fishing, and docking our 26ft front rider boat. Kayaking and canoeing was fun and easy! The pool was perfect and refreshing. Anne and Keith were helpful, kind and gracious hosts. I highly recommend. Plus, the AC worked GREAT and the beds were comfy!

The property is in a beautiful spot. The pool is kept beautifully and kayaking was really nice. The house is older and layout a bit strange. Was probably built in stages. It worked for us. Beautiful sunsets!

Amazing place! Wonderful owners! Great outdoor fun for the family!
Sorry for the delay in my review but we had an amazing time on our trip! 1. Anne and Keith were very friendly and very responsive to all my emails. They made us feel welcomed and also helped us with things around the house. 2. The house was perfect for our 2 families (total 10 people). Everyone liked the interior and we loved the outside. The kids loved catching crabs and fishing. We used the kayak, canoes and paddleboat. We also used the fire pit the night before we left. We also ended the day in the pool. TIPS: There are a lot of stores within 18-20 drive. (Dorchester Square) Restaurant- We ate at Snappers. They have outdoor seating. This trip will be hard to beat since we had a lot of things for the kids right at the house and the view was amazing. The kids have ranked this as one of their favorite trips. Thanks

What a wonderful place!
We had the pleasure of visiting here over Labor Day weekend. The location was gorgeous. The house has a unique layout (built in the 1800s originally, which we thought was cool)! The hosts did a wonderful job! I received answers and advice quickly. The gift bag upon arrival with a bottle of wine was a nice touch!! The crab traps were set up for us with chicken meat. The kids loved checking them!!! Our family hung out on the dock a lot. The views were beautiful. Nestled back in its own little cove, we felt this property had something for everyone. We all made good use of the kayaks and row boat. The pool was nice as well! It was great to have that additional option. Overall, we loved this time spent together and this house made it easy for us to create memories we will cherish always.

50th wedding Anniversary Celebration
Hudson Creek Retreat is magical ! The layout of the house is a perfect - space for a large group ( we had 8 adults and 2 children ) to spread out and relax. The view from the back windows of the creek and dock is breathtaking (sunset skies ) . Our family loved the amenities - pool, kayaks, canoes, fire pit, grill, outdoor picnic tables, crab pots off the dock and, of course , the secret staircase ! We made memories to last forever. Hosts Anne and Keith are wonderful and helpful !

Wonderful getaway for family trip
My family had a wonderful time at this property. We made use of the home's kayak and canoes and easily launched our own SUP from the docks. The home was lovely and spacious, with everyone in our large family having a comfortable place to stay. The hosts were communicative and flexible. All-in-all, a great vacation!

Perfect location and clean!
We had the best time! Keith and Anne are amazing hosts, the home was spotless, fresh and so amazingly cozy yet big enough for all 11 of us and 2 children. The efficiency was so perfect for the family with 2 little ones for their privacy and everyone's comfort! The ac in the home was amazing and the house stayed so comfy. The beds were so comfortable too (which we never find in a rental). We really felt at home! So close to town, the dock was amazing and pool even better! We already booked for next year!!! Thanks for allowing us to share your home!!!!

Great way to gather family
Had three generations enjoy several days of fun. Everyone commented how nice the property was. It was clean, organized. sufficiently stocked for cooking inside and outside, plenty of room for everyone, beautiful pool, water view you could stare at for hours, crabbing pots ready to go and a fire pit for evening campfires, smores and chats to laugh and reconnect.. Close enough to stores and restaurants while being far enough to really disconnect and enjoy quality time.

great family reunion getaway
nice clean and spacious dog friendly property for a large gathering (12). Super quirky layout of house which is hard to tell from the online pictures but we made it work. nice water views and lots of things to do, fish/crab, canoe/kayak, pool, corn hole, grill but pretty remote (which was fine with us-just good to know). We were there during hot summer months and was hard to find much shade-thank goodness for the pool! would recommend for family reunion type gatherings for sure-very nice friendly owners.

Beautiful Property and Lovely Home
Our family had an amazing time staying at this Hudson Creek retreat. The home is lovely and equipped with everything you could ever need to make your visit fun, easy, and enjoyable. The waterfront is breathtaking and the dock access and extras (hose, crab pots, etc) make crabbing and fishing so easy. We enjoyed hours of pool fun which was a welcome respite during the warm afternoon hours. None of us wanted to leave! Anne and Keith are super friendly, responsive, and keep the property and home beautiful. We can’t wait to come back!

Peaceful, serene vacation
We hardly saw another soul during our stay at this property. The water was so tranquil and peaceful and the sunsets were amazing! The kids loved the pool and all the nooks and crannies in the old house. Perfect for hide and seek. We even caught some crabs for our final dinner. Great property!

This is the perfect venue for a large family gathering. Plenty of activities on the property -- swimming, fishing, and crabbing -- plus a kayak, canoe and pedal boat. The house has plenty of space and the view from the living/dining room is spectacular.

The listing doesn’t do justice for the property. It’s even more beautiful in person. The owners live on the property and were extremely accommodating. Any time we had any issues/questions Anne was right there within 5 min. She’s super sweet! I would definitely recommend and plan to go back in the future!

My family and I really enjoyed Keith and Annie’s lake house property and overall had an awesome time staying there for our vacation. The property is isolated and very quite. Nice and peaceful, which is what we where looking for. We had a party of 14, 9 adults 5 kids and had space for everyone. The kids loved the pool, paddle boat, and fishing. The highlight was crabbing. The owners provided chicken in the traps and we caught almost 60 crabs and had a big crab dinner. Keith and Annie provided awesome little touches like a gift bag and a free bottle of wine. Few things to note would be that there’s only a few trash cans outside with coverings. So if you have a large party the trash cans will fill up quickly. The owners left us great instructions, but we didn’t know what to do with the full trash cans. Also another item to note is the owners live on the property, which wasn’t mentioned in the listing. We never saw them except for a few times and they are lovely, but just something to note. Also the property is located in the deep wood and even though there’s WiFi listed the WiFi is very weak and spotted throughout the house, which was okay we ended up just unplugging. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommended this place for future guest.

Perfect Vacation Spot
The house and property were sparkling clean, and meticulously maintained. The house was spacious and there was plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the architecture and layout of the older wing of the house and our kids loved the old style staircase and small bedroom above the kitchen. The house was stocked with everything we needed, including extra touches. We were there for four days and did not leave the property! Between swimming in the pool, taking boats out on the lake and relaxing in the house and enjoying the beautiful views, we and our kids were kept busy. We enjoyed the fire pit and watching the sunset each evening and the herons flying over the water. The host was extremely responsive, friendly and accommodating. We had a fantastic time and would love to return!

Gorgeous property with all the amenities you’d need for a relaxing weekend on the shore. Private pool, big (and well kept) lawn, and tons of space inside. Extremely nice hosts who made the process easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Great trip
The home was lovely. My entire family had a fantastic and relaxing time, swimming in the pool, canoeing, fishing for crabs and just relaxing while watching the beautiful and peaceful sunsets. No one wanted to leave and they all want to go back ASAP. Also, Keith and Anne were incredibly helpful when anything was needed, and the little touches, like adding chicken to the crab pots or the welcome gifts, were awesome. Highly recommend.

Unplug by the Water
Big, sparkling clean house with a lovely water view and lots of bird watching. Great place to unplug from work and tech and just relax for a bit by the pool or paddling out on the water. Anne and Keith were super hosts - responsive to communication and checked in with us when the power went out for a few hours b/c of a storm. The local utility had the lights back on in short order. Recommend bringing your own drinking water - the well water is fine for washing up, but not great tasting. Other than that the kitchen is well appointed, and the place had everything we needed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and so did our pup. Can't wait to visit again.

That was quite a Tropical Storm that blew through that day but Heather and Jeremy were such good sports taking in stride what Mother Nature dealt us that day! Excellent guests including Mollie their sweet fur baby! Looking forward to seeing you all again in the future!
