Unique outdoor experience
A story to tell for years. Camping in the mountains with a short commute to town. The host was kind and extremely responsive, when we needed/ran out of anything. All the basics for cooking (gas/wood, water, utensils) and toileting (outdoor “shower” and toilet) is provided. We were there during some colder nights and used the provided space heater. To top it all off the kiddos enjoyed the s’mores and time around the fire. It is a steep climb to the cocoon from the parking, found out really fast how out of shape I was.

Rainy stay
We are an older couple and we had trouble getting up to and in to the cocoon. The toilet was further away than described. It rained the entire first night so we couldn't enjoy the deck. I would recommend this destination for a younger age group.

Hiking Boone Cocoon.
Location is awesome. Super close to Boone yet secluded so feel like you are secluded and away from it all. Very convenient. Also close to a lot of hiking trails. We were there after a lot of rain from Hurricane Ian so firewood/pit was very wet and full of wet ash and the wood is very wet. So the fire was a bit tricky but they did bring us more lighter fluid. Cocoon is comfy, deck is nice. Fun experience!

Filled the kids with wonder!
They absolutely loved the idea of sleeping in a bubble hanging from the trees, & the reality did not disappoint.

This site is the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience. While at the campsite, you are in a very private and peaceful setting, but town is just a couple of minutes away by car!

Fun Mountain Getaway
Everything was fantastic. We were literally 10 minutes away from everything there is to do in boone which made it convenient to grab food and walk around downtown. The stay was very peaceful and we wished we could have stayed another night. Thank you!!!

Fun trip!
Had a wonderful experience. Went on a very cold weekend, so the heater was much appreciated. Contacted owner for supplies which were quickly delivered by their children. Would definitely visit again!

In the trees
We are avid campers and to do the Blue Ridge Parkway without camping seemed unlikely. We drove out of the way and we are so glad we did! We were close to town but far enough out that the it felt like woods and the mountains! We loved the unique experience, we camped on a cold night, 30 degrees or less, we checked the weather before we left and packed an extra warm cozy layer, some hats for our heads and we bundled up together and loved every minute of it! The amenities that were there were perfect and added to the camping feel but with a bit of comfort added in. Thank you for the opportuntiy!
