The hotel itself is ok. NO PARKING! If you drive, the offsite parking is 11 minutes away walk. I did not like the staff at the beginning, but it really depends. The staff later helped me was nice.

Breakfast seating area was lovely and food was very good, room was clean and turn down service with free water was a very nice touch, staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel is located by the harbour and only a short walk to shops, restaurants and transport. Would definitely stay here again.

Very attentive house keeping. Superb location to explore all the main attractions in Bergen. We had dinner one evening and have enjoyed the table service provided by Vibecca (apologies if I spelt the name wrong). Breakfast was nice, although the buffet section could have provided more protein options. We have absolutely enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend !

Location was fantastic. I paid $2000 Kron to upgrade to room with view. Unfortunately, the room was above the entrance door where many people stand and smoke cigarettes. The upgraded room was also small.

What a lovely stay at Opus XVI!! The staff were beyond accommodating. One morning, I wasn't feeling well, and they sent breakfast and a pot of coffee to me in our room. When we left very early for the train station, they sent a boxed breakfast with us. Brekfast was included in our stay, and there were a myriad of options. Our room had a view of the water and was very quiet. The beds and linens very comfortable. We definitely would stay here again. The staff was so pleasant and helpful.

Room itself was great. Breakfast was great. Location was great. The not so great: the noise outside the hotel from the bar and people screaming. The staffs largely unapologetic reaction to the noise keeping me awake. Not having the room available for check in at the designated time and not explaining why or offering any apology or benefit.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Bergen with a very classic yet modern and luxury appeal. The exceptional service as the front desk asked the restaurant to make me a meal after the restaurant had closed, as I was a late arrival.

Top class hotel. The piano player each morning at breakfast was superb and created a wonderful ambience for a world class breakfast. Hotel room was a bit small but is well finished / furnished. Excellent staff service.

We stayed at The Eilert Smith Hotel in Stavanger and Opus in Bergen, and although both are owned by the same group, what a world of difference in customer experience. Eilert Smith staff went out of their way to do anything they could for us. Opus was like any big hotel, made the reservations if you asked, but did not respond to any texts or messages, even though they said they were available 24/7. Staff esp one lady just seemed like she couldn’t handle even reservations efficiently or understand. Seemed to be scrambling and unsure. Anyway, just an ordinary experience. Not great or extraordinary like The Eilert Smith Hotel in Stavanger. Also breakfast at Opus was okay, not great. Quality of food just okay.

The best hotel in Bergen. The fragrance they spray in the lobby is divine. They have beautiful classical music playing for breakfast and in the evenings. Breakfast was gorgeous and our room was very luxe. Valet for the hire car was really convenient.

The staff was very friendly and helpful but for the price the room was not worth it. The rooms were very small, there was no luggage rack and was so small it was difficult to get two suitcases open at the same time. Also there was no view, the window looked almost directly across a small courtyard into another room. Also for the price I expected a better breakfast buffet. It was small selection and for two mornings none of the options we tried were very good or cooked well.

My husband got sick on our cruise. We had to leave the cruise early and stay in a hotel in preparation for our return trip home. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city. Would love to go back and spend more time in Bergen.

A Truly Amazing time
While the weather the day we arrived was frightful, the stay and weather today delightful! Highly recommended! also had a moat fab dinner evening 3 minutes away.. also NOt to be missed... ON Bergen waterfront at Fjellskaal Seafood restaurant! Kat from Canada the manager and Server Kinsa from Poland and conversation with other travelers in the glass "fishbowl" on the water added to our truly memorable weekend to kick off our 57th anniversary voyage to the Arctic Circle. on

Location location location!!!
Incredibly beautiful hotel just steps from the harbo, restaurants and shops. The location can't be beat. The hotel itself is very elegant with a piano player and violinist playing at breakfast. The rooms were spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend!
