Overpriced, room did not match the description. Booked a King bed with a recliner and found a chair with automan. Bed feels like cardboard and tv is small. Not too mention the room was small as well. Breakfast was a small selection only good part is the owners and theres some stores right there. Definitely not worth the price i paid in my opinion. Upstairs hallway is not cooled so its very warm but ac in the room works well!!! They need slightly bigger tvs and update ac/heater units.

This was a difficult property to rate. The price was excellent, it was clean, and the staff was very nice. The bed was comfortable, the fridge was cold, and everything in the room worked. I had my dog with me, and they gave me a room close to the back entrance, which was handy to a good amount of grass for walking the dog. There was quite a lot of cigarette buttts and trash at the edge of the parking lot. The motel was well back from the highway, and I never heard noise from the road, or from the Arby's in front of the property. However, the property was showing some age. My A/C struggled to keep the room at a comfortable temperature, especially in the evenings, after the motel soaked in the 94F degrees heat all afternoon. This was with the unit running full blast on the lowest setting 24 hours a day. Not much can be done about that on a weekend, and I was too settled in to change rooms, so I only mentioned it to the front desk person as I checked out. He did say that they were aware of the problem, and they had new units ready to replace the old ones as needed. The breakfast was simple. I only tried it once, but I remember 4 types of cereal, some packaged things like muffins and mini donuts, some yogurt, apple juice, milk, and coffee. The breakfast area was clean and quiet. The coffee was surprisingly decent, unlike at many other cheapish motels. So, overall, I would stay there again, as long as the rates were low enough for me to not mind the minor inconveniences.

Dear Frank;The day you arrived it rained hard, Baxley had thunderstorms and heavy rain each of the 3 days prior to your visit. This disrupted TV signals and we were calling the Satellite tv companies as they sent out crews. Not just us three hotels in Baxley had just changed to brand new satellite tv service, We regret the disruption in service which came back and then out that day. It has been fine after that. Staying at our hotel you saved 110 that day compared to other hotel. I was in a ground floor unit. The unit smelled musty and the furniture was shabby. The upholsterd chair and foot bench was stained. The door leading in to the unit showed signs of being forced open at some point in time judging by the tool marks in the door frame and there was also a gap in between the frame and the door that wad wide enough for someone to slide a pry bar into.

Dear John M; You requested a smoking room and were given a room on the bottom floor near the back exit. Smoking rooms endure wear and tear by occupants. We did not find a gap between the frame and door on inspection and have replaced the entire door since. Our staff has instructions to change rooms, even upgrade rooms if anyone suggests that they would like to change. You chose to stay did not bring it to the attention of the front desk staff, also the breakfast bar attendant said you did check out the breakfast bar and said everything was fine, We strive to make our guests comfortable but if you do not bring your concern to our attention then we have no way of making your stay comfortable, posting invective in a review is not constructive criticism. Most travellers who try us out find this hotel comfortable and the best value for money for miles around. We invite you to visit us and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Top 3 worst stays ever.
The manager checked me in with what looked like blood on her hands. The jetted bath tub that was supposed to be in the room that I booked was out of order. The room was cleanish but the bathroom was dirty. Soap scum all over the tub and what looked like urine on the side of the tub. The TV was very small (32") and some of the channels that were supposed to be offered were deliberately skipped and could not be accessed. Our room was supposed to be non smoking but I guess that was optional. Will not stay there again.

Dear Kathryn T; Your Expedia reservation #1925801537 made on April 14, 22 was for a Single King Bed Non-smoking Room. These room each have their own private baths with showers and youe reservation was definitely not for a jetted bath. The jetted bath tub is available only in our jacuzzi suite room which was not the room you had reserved. 2. Our lobby & front desk cameras show the shift manager checking you in at 4.17 p.m on Sat, Apr 16th as per the reservation. On zooming the cameras, there is no evidence that her hands had blood or were dirty in any way. We interviewed all staff present that afternoon, next day Apr 17th being Easter Sunday, a house keeping helper who volunteers with a local childrens home had been painting easter eggs, came to the lobby area for some paper, remembers greeting you, but she was definitely not the manager who checked you in. After you mentioned wanting a jetted bath tub, the shift manager offered you the hot tub suite pointing out that it was a designated smoking room. She also offerd you other non-smoking single king bad rooms and you chose to stay in Room 208. It has plush new carpeting and furniture. Additionally, Barbara our resident housekeeper went up to your room and cleaned and sanitized the tub another time. She does not recall there was any urine and remembers you offering her a Coke beverage at the end of it. She noticed you had two dogs with you, Next morning too, the night manager noticed you standing outside one of the hotel side entrances with your dogs and mentioned, that while this hotel is pet friendly, there is a pet fee. It is not included in the Expedia reservation and has to be paid separately. Sensing your extreme reluctance to pay the pet fee our staff mentioned it but did not insist upon it. We are in despair that despite being hospitable and meeting your request, your review is simply not true and not at all fair. It does disservice to other potential travelers who could otherwise come to Baxley and stay in a comfortable room, at the best value for their travel dollar. Sincerely & Hospitably

Early next morning Front Desk staff opened another room so you could use the amenities in it. We invite you again, when you are next visiting in and around Baxley as you know the room you stayed in was very comfortable and the best value hotel room in Baxley.

Roaches crawling around. Tv didnt work..tried calling front desk...phone didmt work...had to go all the way down to get maintenence. Took an hour to fix remote for tv. Charged $5 extra upon arrival. Breakfast was out of everything when we arrived, had to wait extra for everything to be filled.

Dear Melissa; As was explained to you, your hotels.com reservation had a deep discounted rate for a 2 double bedroom through Expedia. 1. Expedia sent us a virtual card where they minus the discounts and their commission. They cover the sales and local tax but not the $5 hotel motel fee which applies to all hotels only in the state of GA. Our front desk clerk showed you a copy of their e-mail where they state that the $5 fee is to be collected by the hotel. Matter of fact if you use the Expedia phone app to reserve the room, it tells a guest that they have to pay $5. 2. A previous Guest staying in that same room had hooked their x-Box to our tv and did not put it back to its usual mode. Our records show that Ms Barbara, one of our best housekeepers went up to reprogram the tv remote as soon as your called the front desk. Next morning you arrived at the breakfast bar when it was closing time, the front desk clerk that day made sure everything was replenished and had offered to change your room the previous night. but you said you were fine and chose to stay in that room. This hotel has 51 rooms and our practice is to change rooms immediately if the guest is not happy with anything. Many GA travelling guests know that this hotel is the best value for money and each year being upgraded. On your discounted price you paid about 1/3rd of what the other big hotel in town charges. Our staff is always open to Guests complaints and feedback, Much can be achieved by reasonably requests. We invite you to try us again when you are next in Baxley and you will not only save handsomely, but also get the best value for a hotel room in Baxley. Hospitably speaking
