This spacious 4 bedroom apartment sleeps 8. The living room is on the 2nd floor (reached by a single long flight of stairs with handrails, which some might find challenging) with panoramic sea views. The kitchen and back bedroom look out at Snowdonia National Park. The kitchen has a washerdrier and dishwasher. We are across the road from dunes and beach, yet a short walk to the train station and the High Street. We have Wi-Fi and TV. We welcome well-behaved pets. We let Saturday to Saturday
There is a stair-gate at the entry top of the big flight of stairs
Keys are in the keysafe. We'll provide the code in the week before arrival.
There is usually free on-street parking near the flat. Our door is in the alley off South Avenue, and you can unload your vehicle there. If you arrived before 4:30 and the cleaners are in, you can ring the bell and leave your baggage before moving your car.
We are just across the road from an European Blue Flag and Trip Advisor "Excellent" sandy beach with dunes. This flat is spacious. You can sit on swivel chairs in the bay window looking out at the sea. It's a big beach with safe bathing. Barmouth is in a great location with a beautiful estuary and one of Wales's biggest mountains, Cader Idris, on the far side. The hills behind the town are part of Snowdonia National Park, including the first ever National Trust site.
The flat is self-contained, and apart from a couple of cupboards with cleaning supplies it's all yours.
Other things to note
The house is on a quiet sea front, facing west for amazing sunsets on the sea. Yet we are very near the centre of Barmouth with its many small shops, cafes, restaurants, wine bars, fish and chips, three medium-sized supermarkets, medical facilities, and the harbour! From there you can take a ferry trip or walk/cycle across the Grade II listed and one of the longest wooden viaducts still in use in the UK. Both will take you across one of the most beautiful Welsh estuaries surrounded by views of Snowdonia. From there you can progress north along the Cambrian Coast or follow the old railway line up the river Mawddach. These routes are accessible to all as they stretch for miles on flat surface. Of Course Barmouth means also stunning hill walks. Go up the steep narrow winding streets of the Old Town and up to the top of Dinas Oleu (Citadel of Light). As you make your way upwards, dramatic views over the Estuary and Cardigan Bay - stretching towards the Llyn Peninsula - unfold. The walk is rich in history as it is on the first area of land donated to the National Trust in 1895.
