Anne and Bob were terrific hosts, the site was spot on convenient to downtown and the national park shuttle buses, restaurants, etc. Breakfast was wonderful. Great stay overall.
Beautiful and clean B&B conveniently located to downtown and the park. The only issue is the bathroom is a little small but expected in an older house. Would stay again!!
Wonderful innkeepers! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Very close to shopping and restaurants. Very easy to get to Acadia National Park. Delicious hot breakfast every morning. All in all, a very enjoyable stay!
It’s a house that has seven rooms for guests usage. The hostess is very friendly, she provides breakfast for all the guests, like in a family home.
The drawbacks are bathroom is very small, and faucet water is easy to splash out; the sink vanity is small and not much room for the guests to lay out stuff.
Loved our 4 night stay. Anne is a fantastic host...she gave us all kinds of useful information both before and during our stay. Breakfast was fantastic. The room was very large with great technology. Highly recommended.
Extremely accommodating, great location, and the best breakfasts. Ann was able to provide us with great advice for navigating Acadia National Park. Could not have found a more quaint stay for our time in Bar Harbor!
This is a hard one for me to review. Overall we were disappointed. Mainly due to comfort level. The location was fantastic, breakfast very nice and staff was friendly. It definitely has an old spooky feel, which I don’t mind, but just be aware of what you are walking into. My main issues were that the attic suite we were in was very stuffy and warm. Windows only opened a little and the AC was switched over to hear so we had very little relief. No ceiling fans. Being in the attic made it tough, and uncomfortable. Second issue is the bathroom and shower, very tiny and shower stall was crazy small. Curtain wrapped all around you while showering and barely able to bend over or move. The last minor issue is that the only mirror ( small one) was in the bathroom. For a couple getting ready a second mirror would be a great addition. I don’t think I’d stay here again but with some improvements I think the location and history of the building would make it a great choice.
We had a great stay. The property has a lot of older charm. The hospitality was wonderful and we really enjoyed how conveniently it was located to the main downtown area. It also helped that we had a guest parking spot. The breakfast each morning was amazing. We would for sure stay here again if we are in the area!
This was our first time staying at a bed & breakfast and Stratford did not disappoint. Everything was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. And it was conveniently located to all Bar Harbor had to offer. Highly recommend!

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We stayed at 3 different bed and breakfasts that trip and we were disappointed at our Stratford stay. I understand that it is under new ownership so maybe they haven't had a chance to make it feel cozy yet. It was pretty stark in decor. The breakfasts were fine. It does have a good location and hopefully they will make efforts to make it feel more homey!
Beautiful home with wonderful Inn Keeper who provided wonderful breakfast’s and good information. Would definitely stay again. Only complaint was very small bathroom which I understand they are expanding.
Our stay at the Stratford in Bar Harbor was nothing short of excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Anne and the staff were helpful with dining recommendations and knowledgeable of the area. We had a delicious breakfast each morning. The entire house is impeccably clean and we felt very safe during our stay. It was wonderful having off street parking next to the house. We were able to walk easily into Bar Harbor for shopping, dining and to catch the free shuttle service into Acadia National Park. Highly recommend staying at the Stratford.
Our stay was amazing! I can’t think of any thing that would have made our stay better.
Hostess presented outstanding dishes at breakfast! Several different recipes were provided and each guest selected the dish they preferred. The room was very clean, comfortable, and filled with amazing family antiques.
The Stratford is located a couple of blocks from downtown which is a perfect location to explore Bar Harbor or drive several miles to Arcadia.
We would recommend The Stratford to everyone and would definitely stay there again!
