Well worth the cost.
The stairs were a bit of a challenge due to my hip an sciatic troubles, but I think it may have been some good exercise!

Perfect Location
This was the perfect location for a weekend of skiing. Easy access to both Beech and Sugar Mountain, and downtown Banner Elk.

Family Time
This was the perfect place for wrangling teenagers into some quality family time. The accommodations were as advertised. Plenty of hot water, heat, and comfortable beds. Breathtaking views including Sugar Mountain where we skied our hearts out. Due to snow and rain we did not walk to the restaurants but we could have. We will definitely re-book when we return next year.

Best place I’ve stayed
It was like home away from home, excellent location, beautiful views, super clean and inviting and if you decide to cook like us the place had everything but the food, I will highly recommend this place to everyone. We fell in love with the stay and Banners Elk

In the trees
This property is just up the hill from the main road in Banner Elk but it is still very quiet. Deer came by in the morning as they moved up the hill. There are a flight of stairs to descend to enter the Chalet but they were well maintained. So many activities and restaurants nearby, we weren't in the Chalet much except to shower & sleep.

Cute Little Condo. Comfy beds!
Overall a very good stay. The Roundhouse Chalet is clean and well kept inside. There was everything we needed for our stay including coffee. The beds were extremely comfortable and had different fitness of pillows. (So important!) The owner was very responsive. The stairs down to the Chalet are older than the photos suggest and need a little weeding. Please be aware if you are staying in warmer months there is no A/C —only cooling fans. This was ok for us, as we stayed when it was cooler. We were happy to find spices and olive oil to use to cook a few meals. Thank you hosts!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Roadhouse chalet. It was convenient to town for shopping, restaurants, and fun. Our host was very helpful and made the booking, check-in, and overall experience very enjoyable.

Needs Work For The Price
When I first showed up, I had to cut my way through the briars to walk down the steps to reach the door. This place has no air conditioning. This place is extremely damp. The door to one of the bedrooms doesn't shut do to the fact that the place is falling down the mountain. I had to fix the door from the bathroom to the bedroom because the top hinge was off the doorframe. On top of all that, it cost almost $250 per night. I would stay somewhere else the next time I am in Banner Elk.

Great space
We had a short weekend getaway to Banner Elk, the property was as described, clean, close to whats happening - if you walk back up from downtown you have to be good shape, its straight up the mountainside! Would definitely visit again!
