Good stay and we would be happy to return next time. Some things could be improved: - only one of the electric car chargers was functioning, the other should be fixed - nice to have a toaster available at breakfast time - juice at breakfast could be fresher & nicer - we asked for a mattress protection for the kids’ bed and all that could be found was a bin-bag. The service was appreciated, but it would be easy to buy a few proper fitted protection sheets

Worthwhile
It was a cozy and tidy room. It has a nice bathroom. The only thing which I didn't quite like it that you need to step down stairs to the bathroom. But overall it is really worthwhile.

This is a really tired and dated property that is in serious need a major refurbishment. The rooms were clean but the paint work needed redoing and furniture replacing. Also, we visited in August and - as there is no aircon - the room was uncomfortably hot all night even with the electric fan.

Wonderful area
Our room was a little small but clean and comfortable. Restaurant was amazing and fabulous food. I honestly could live here. The area surrounding the hotel was peaceful and so beautiful 7/10.

Nice older hotel that I remember from my youth, close to nature and only a 20 minute walk from downtown Apeldoorn. Pleasant, helpful staff. I enjoyed my stay and will certainly return.

Initially we were disappointed in our room. For example, no suitcase bench nor coffee/tea. Very old appearance. However, we paid a marginal amount for an upgrade which was much better. More room. Tea and coffee available in room. Convenient to walk to our destinations, including the Grote Kerk and Palais Het Loo. Convenient parking for our rental car at no extra cost. We were so pleased we stayed another night.

A pleasant surprise.
After reading reports online we were concerned that the hotel will be suitable for us. We were pleasantly surprised, despite the rooms being a little on the old side, you can’t fault the cleanliness and service. Nothing was too much.

Room for 3 was well sized, free parking was a plus. Breakfast buffet was excellent as was all the staff. Hotel layout was a bit interesting but not a problem.

Great hotel beds are incredible, went there for rememberence day very close to “ man with two hats” Also Holten cemetery.food was good definitely recommend stay here

Comfortable hotel and close to downtown area
Hotel is comfortable but rooms are much smaller than as they appear on the website. The hotel needs renovation as it's quite old and worn out now. The back rooms have no privacy if the curtains are not drawn.

Okay, but . . .
The hotel was a nice place to be but we were disappointed with the smallness of the room. Yes, it was one of the cheaper rooms but for the money we paid, I expected at least 2 chairs to sit on and a little space to move around. We were offered a larger room at check-in but the cost would have been significantly more than what we were used to paying for a room. The fact that what was proffered as a first-class hotel, did not have air-conditioning as standard was also very disappointing. But that seems to be the norm for the Netherlands.

Quaint hotel!
Overall, excellent hotel with nice staff. WiFi is not as strong as one may want, but it's just another reason to enjoy the Netherlands rather than just stare at a screen while in the Netherlands.

The hotel is on the ring road around the city of Apeldoorn, so easy to find, with free parking. It is nice enough, but the room was basic. The daily cleaning wasn't up to scratch and the staff a bit grumpy, but not unpleasant. Sixteen euros for breakfast was a little steep.

When I stayed here last year with my sister, I vowed never again but as it had changed hands and was very convenient for visiting our 94 year old aunt, I thought I would give it another try. What a mistake. They demand payment on arrival so we had to pay by card even though we had enough Euros left at the end but didn't know that at the time. They advertise free toiletries but this was just liquid soap in a dispenser screwed to the wall, no shampoo, conditioner or even tissues. The coffee machine in the deluxe room had 2 coffee pods and 2 cardboard cups, but no sugar, milk or stirrers. Next day, same dirty cups were still there. When I asked for more coffee, I was told it was only for the first day of your stay!! When I said they shouldn't advertise coffee if they didn't do it, they came up with more cups and coffee pods and this time sugar and creamer etc. Deluxe rooms allow only one device to connect to the wifi, so for two people staying, only one person can connect their Iphone OR Ipad!! Who stays away without needing wifi. One receptionist was very offhand about the coffee etc. However, the lady on reception when we checked out was very pleasant but explained the lack of toiletries, wifi, paying on arrival etc were all Fletcher Hotel rules that they couldn't do anything about. Found a very nice family run hotel round the corner which we will be using next time we come to Apeldoorn. This time I mean it about never staying in this hotel ever again.

For your consideration in Apeldoorn
Some of you may think the rooms here are small, but as I was traveling solo that was not a concern of mine. The hotel was a short walk from the central area of Apeldoorn but not as close to the train station. I would give the hotel a 5, but Wifi was not available in the room, only downstairs in the lobby, and this was the only hotel in Europe that I have seen (maybe this is more widespread than I think, I just don't know) where the room key had to be left at the front desk when leaving the hotel. Ordinarily not a big deal as this is common practice in Asia, but the hotel closed up at midnight, so I had to ring the doorbell to get in, and then retrieve my key to go to the room. All this being said, I would go back to this hotel again.

1. Geen nachtkastjes 2. Bedden en matrassen verschuiven als je op het bed zit om tv te kijken of tegen je partner aan wilt leggen. 3. Geen aparte douche, maar moet douchen in het zeer gladde bad waarbij je alleen onder de straal van de douche staat als je aan het eind van het bad staat waar de vloer schuin omhoog loopt. Dit maakt de kans om te vallen groot. 4. Kledingkast niet normaal te open (geen handvat/sleutel om deur te openen. 5. Slechte staat van onderhoud verf 6. Door hele kamer goedkoop uitziende kabelgootjes voor vrijwel elk stopkontakt. 7. Prijs van restaurant voor geleverde kwaliteit veel te hoog.

De keuken was om 21.00 dicht de bar tot 22.30 en geen bittergarnituur te krijgen. Werkelijk ongelofelijk voor een 4 sterren hotel, slechte matrassen veel te zacht en oude bende de kamers op zuch gedateerd.

Vielleicht noch einmal
wir waren wohl im alten Teil untergebracht. Das Fenster schloss nicht richtig und deshalb war es auch relativ kühl im Zimmer. Die Räumlichkeit war sehr alt eingerichtet. Das Bad war groß und ok. Das Frühstück war ausreichend. Am Abend haben wir dort sehr lecker gegessen.
