Great cottage for rent in beautiful Nordhordland. Close to sea, with terrace and whirlpool.

Family-friendly cottage on Radøy, a half-mile drive north of Bergen. The cabin is well located, with great views of the sea and nature.

Three bedrooms with a total of 6 beds. There is also 1 folding cot and 1 folding extra bed in the cabin.
The cabin is from 1960, but is completely renovated 2015-2017.

New modern kitchen with stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge / freezer and coffee maker. New modern furniture and cable TV and wifi / wireless network. Modern bathroom with toilet and shower, washing machine. Large terrace with great views, outdoor furniture, barbecue and whirlpool / Jacuzzi.

Short distance to drive to Bergen, Voss, Sogn and Hardanger, with all the attractions available. But also in Nordhordland you will find many beautiful places where you can find peace and have a rich or relaxing holiday, as you wish. Good bathing and fishing opportunities, both in freshwater and sea.

A perfect house
We had the most serene, wonderful stay at this house. The view of the fjord is breathtaking and the unit is very clean and updated. If you’re lucky, the sheep might say hello from across the yard! If we’re ever in Norway again, we wouldn’t hesitate staying here again

Amazing Stay on the Fjord
This cottage north of Bergen is so beautiful and comfortable. It offers a beautiful view of the fjord, a nice deck and hot tub, comfortable beds, and a well-equipped kitchen. There are 6 single beds with 2 in each bedroom. We had an incredible stay! Note that there is a short walk down a steep hill required to access the cottage. It won’t be a problem for most people but this is not a good option for anyone with limited mobility.

Beautiful Cottage in Stunning, Tranquil Location
The cottage is very well maintained and sits in a beautiful spot, away from roads, onlookers and any noise. My husband and I stayed here along with our 8 month old son, and 2 friends and we all had plenty of space. The property was well equipped and child friendly.

Modern spacious house.
This modernised,spacious ,detached house is set in a quiet area on the side of a bank overlooking the fairway out to sea. A sun terrace and spa pool add to the experience(though it rained for the majority of our stay!). The house was ideal as a base for us to explore the western isles of Norway. As the property is accessed via a sloping bank with gravel in places it is not a suitable place for those with reduced mobility however we would recommend it as a perfect property otherwise.

A nice place with proximity to Bergen
My father, brother and I stayed here for four days in Sept 2018. We were greeted at the cottage about 1am so that deserves a big thank you to Kjersti and Jostein. My family wanted some distance from the hustle of Bergen but still be able to enjoy the sights. We also wanted to see other areas of interest by road trip. We got what we were looking for, all while feeling “like a local”. The trip to Bergen is about 30 - 40 minutes. Speed is tightly controlled in Norway! This cottage is situated at the bottom of a steep hill overlooking the ocean. Very nice scenery. There is a hot tub that was used every night that added to the allure of the place. Even when it was cold and raining, the hot tub water was plenty warm! The steep hill to the cottage presented some difficulty for my 74 year old father but not enough to be a big deal. There is a winding trail to the property and then a more challenging, direct-access-hill from car to the door. We used the more challenging way each time without trouble. Elderly people may want to consider if they are fit enough for the hike up and down. If you’re a hiker or even minimally fit, you should be ok. Overall, this cottage was a good place for the three of us, allowing each of us to have our own room (capacity for six). The house was stocked with the essentials and the internet connection was SUPERB! A wealth of information about what to do in the area is available. We didn’t stay long enough to touch much but areas I’d recommend are the Stave church in Bergen (Paradis) and the waterfalls around Voss and Odda. The tunnel system through the mountains with roundabouts were fascinating! I think that this cottage provided a very good value for the area and would recommend it to anyone but the physically limited.

Idyllic house
My self, my husband, and our 3 children spent 10 days at this house. The property was immaculately clean and had every home comfort you could wish for. The situation of the house gave us amazing views from the balcony, and it was so relaxing and peaceful to sit and marvel at the views. The Hot tub was a much welcomed treat at the end of our days out and was the icing on the cake to this property. Jostein and his wife were always on hand, but never obtrusive. We spent wonderful days out in : Bergen, Flam, Lygra, canoeing at Bruvoll, and took a wonderful boat trip from Bergen up Oysterfjord, as well as doing some of the local walks from the house's information pack. All in all, everything you could wish for in a holiday home.

Perfect peace
This is a clean, well equipped cabin with gorgeous views over the fjord on which various craft occasionally pass quietly by. A well stocked supermarket is a short drive away, and the city of Bergen is only 45 minutes away. The lovely hosts were just a phone call away, and made sure we had everything we needed but otherwise left us alone. The hot tub is glorious; really powerful jets. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone elderly or infirm; access to the property includes a fairly steep unmade path. We had a wonderful peaceful week in this lovely quiet location. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Perfect getaway
We stayed in Jostein’s cottage this week and it was absolutely lovely! The cottage is renovated to a very high standard, with a nice kitchen, a big patio with a jacuzzi and a view to die for! The location is great - very quiet, peaceful and having a great vibe. Bergen is just 30 minutes away, but when you’ve had enough of hustle and bustle, you return to a quiet gateway to unwind in a jacuzzi! I would definitely recommend this place for those who want to enjoy a holiday among the fjords.

Cute, modern cabin on a beautiful fjord!!!
We had a lovely stay at Jostein's cabin! It is located in a beautiful area of Western Norway right outside of Bergen. The cabin is literally right on a fjord and has AMAZING views! Jostein has modernized this cabin very well. We picked it, because of it's location and also for the nice bed arrangements. We have two boys, and liked having three bedrooms with two beds in each. The kitchen was so nice and had pretty much everything we needed. We really liked having an easy to use coffee maker too!! And the highlight of the cabin was the hot tub on the deck!! It was the main attraction each night as we winded down from our treks and wanted to reflect on our day. It was very easy to use too. The tv got great stations and many were in English! We enjoyed having high speed internet. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone! The area had so much to see. We used Jostein's maps a lot and we saw so many cool things! We drove all around and there are hiking trails everywhere. In Bruvoll, there is a fun place to go canoeing. The weather was great while we were there, so we stayed outdoors a lot. Bergen is not far and we enjoyed the wharf. It was very cute and educational. Another great self catering cottage from Owners Direct! We are never disappointed.

Hervorragend!
Wir wurden sehr freundlich von Jostein empfangen und in die Gegebenheiten des Hauses eingeführt. Es war sehr sauber, ordentlich, gut ausgestattet und gemütlich eingerichtet. Der Weg zum Haus geht über eine Wiese und kann schon mal anstrengend sein. Ansonsten waren wir rundum zufrieden. Die Aussicht war sehr schön und man konnte im Whirlpool entspannen. An dem Angelplatz in der Nähe vom Haus lässt es sich schön Zeit verbringen und morgens wurden wir von den wolligen Nachbarn begrüßt. Alles in allem war es hervorragend und wir kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder.

Schöne Unterkunft mit tollen Ausblick
Leider hatten wir bei unserem Aufenthalt nur regnerisches Wetter. Trotzdem konnten wir schöne Tage in der Unterkunft verbringen. Es ist sauber und ordentlich und die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden! Nur der Weg zur Unterkunft ist etwas kniffelig, da man einen relativ steilen Weg über Wiese und kleinen Weg bis zur Unterkunft hat. Gerade bei Regen war dieser total aufgeweicht und war schon dreckig wenn man oben ankam. Ein befestiger Weg oder eine Treppe wären hier wünschenswert. Das ist aber auch das einzige was man bemängeln kann. Sonst tolle Unterkunft und super Gastgebern.

Ein wunderschönes Haus
Ein sehr sauberes, stilvoll eingerichtetes Haus. Es ist wirklich alles vorhanden, sogar Waschmittel, Spülmaschinentabs, Duschgel, Klopapier, Kaffee, Zucker, Öl, Badmintonschläger, Order mit Ausflug Tipps etc... Es wurde alles mit Liebe eingerichtet. Das Whirlpool ist natürlich auch der Hit, was auch bei Regen die Zeit gut vertreiben ließ.

Amazing Place
A beautiful house with a great location. The furnishings are very good and the rooms are well laid out. The highlight is certainly the view of the fjord from the large window. The landlord was very helpful and gave us tips for our stay. For guests who like nature, the area is definitely recommended.

Awesome Holidays
We really loved our stay at this nice little Lodge. The Garden and the surrounding is very pretty as well. The Kids loved the Jacuzzi and the Parents the big window with view over the Fjords. The Check-In, (and Out) was very easx and Jostein was very helpful and had some good advice for us. Perfect.

Gemütliches Haus mit tollem Ausblick
Wir haben unseren Urlaub in dem Ferienhaus sehr genossen. Das Haus ist gemütlich und mit allem, was man benötigt, ausgestattet. Von der Terrasse und dem Panoramafenster im Wohnzimmer hat man einen sehr schönen Ausblick auf den Fjord.
