Beware - We have been told guests got stuck in the elevator so we better not use it, so we didn’t took the chance and used the stairs. The beds were uncomfortable and probably the worst I have ever had. We arrived in August which is mostly hot (not talking about heat wave) and there is NO AC. The door of the room was open and two small fans were working to somehow reduce the heat of the room, without any success. Breakfast is limited to specific time slots as the room Is too small to contain more than ~25 people and there was only one small fan to help the heat, again without any success. You pay for a hotel but eventually you sleep in a cheap guesthouse. Not worth the money and definitely not recommended!

The room is terrible! No AC at a 34 degrees day, only small fan. The bed and pillows are so old and uncomfortable. The entire place is barely a hostel, don’t know how they call it a hotel…and in such a high price. Stay away

Not worth the money
The room was extremely hot as the window could not be opened resulting poor ventilation.There was only one very little fan in the room, definitely not enough for a double room, not to say it was still 35°C after dark during the heat wave in July. Even worse, a cat came into our room which was on the ground floor through the narrow window at about 2 am! My husband and I could hardly sleep during our stay. One good thing, the breakfast was good.

Comfortable stay
Quaint, clean and central to St Laurenskirk church. Nice supermarket next door. No restaurant but good breakfast provided.

Spotless hotel in a wonderful city Alkmaar. Only 40 min drive to sightsee in Amsterdam but loved the tranquil city of Alkmaar. Nice shopping area.. Canals..Restaurants and a park/trail 5 mins from hotel to run/jog. Edmond an zee beach on 10mins away. Hotel was clean and basic but ideal for family of 2+2. Staff very friendly. Breakfast ideal.

Unterkunft ist sehr zentral. Frühstück gut. Das Zimmer war kalt und das Bad musste mit einem Heizofen geheizt werden. Das Zustellbett war steinhart, da kein Lattenrost.

Heerlijk hotel in het centrum bij het theater voor leuke prijs. Oude school met grote kamers, sober ingericht, bed redelijk zacht, badkamer prima. Tekort douche gordijn is niet meer van dexe tijd en doet afbreuk. Ontbijt uitgebreid en meer dan goed. Parkeren mogelijk voor 12.50 per nacht. Parkeren bij theater kost 2.50 per nacht....

Ein nettes Hotel allerdings war das Zimmer beim Ankunft kalt (Heizung war ausgestellt). Das Zimmer was ich hatte war in die Jahren gekommen und benötigt einen Face Lift (soft Renovation). Ansonsten nette Mitarbeiter und gute lage. Auch die Parksituation ist OK. Ich war im Parkhaus in der Nähe.

Met de sloep naar Alkmaar
Onze sloep in de passantenhaven bij het politie bureau aangelegd, op 3 min loop afstand van College Hotel Alkmaar. Erg leuk ontvangen door een gezellige, leuk jonge man, die ons goed informeerde over de mogelijkheden voor een goed diner, daarna werd alles toegelicht in onze kamer, op een zeer prettige manier. 's Morgens een ontbijt buffet, waaraan niets ontbreekt, je krijg een tijd zodat voldaan kan worden aan de corona regels. We komen hier volgend jaar zeker weer terug, top locatie die redelijk betaald baar is.
