On arrival we met Gavin who was very hospitable and explained the area and best places to eat and visit. The room was lovely, clean and very modern with a comfy bed. Breakfast was included, a Full English, both mornings which was very nice with proper ground coffee. We ate in the Milan restaurant during our stay, which was the only place worth eating at without driving out the village, definitely recommend you book in advance over a weekend as it was extremely busy, we were lucky to get a spot! The Co-op is literally across the road from the hotel for those hiking snacks if you plan to go for a walk.Lots of antique and vintage shops to browse in the village but not too much else, but it is all set in idyllic countryside and within walking distance of the Cheviot Hills. We drove to Seahouses where you can book horse riding on the beach, we went with a place called Slate Hall Riding Centre. Also highly recommend visiting Alnmouth and eating at The Village Tearoom, a dog friendly cafe with great cakes, tea and dog friendly. All in all great place to stay when visiting this area and would happily stay again. Parking was on the street outside and when busy you may need to drive a little way from the B&B to find a spot. Not a big issue, just a consideration all be it by the time you get back after a day out it is usually very quiet and no problem at all.
