Shower design -- itxwas impossible to shower without getting water all over the floor Room very hot. Had to open the window and then flies got in Staff exceptional. Onsite restaurant good.

By far the best accommodation we have stayed at for the Camino de Santiago. Everyone was very helpful, the rooms were fantastic, breakfast was delicious, just an overall fabulous experience!

We spent two nights here before starting out on the Camino and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was helpful and friendly and the room comfortable. The surrounding area has plenty of places to eat and the Camino is right outside the door!

I’ve stayed in the hotel before, room was good but seems outdated now. Water when showering gets cold and hot, not good. Saw some molds in the shower room

This hotel was great, a good value for the price point. The staff and service were helpful and good. My room was clean and hotel the area was ideal. I would consider staying here again.

Amazibg staff. Antonio was a great help with many things. Upgrade to a suite was a little extra well spent. Only gripe was no food available - restaurant, cafeteria or room service from 1600 to 2030. Hopeless for pilgrims. Not good enough for international hotel. Otherwise 3 day stay wonderful

Antonio at reception was wonderful. Arranged an upgrade to a suite for a reasonable additional amount. Helped us with a number of issues and requirements. Just exceptionsl. Room was just fabulous. BIG issue is that between 4pm to 8.30pm there is no food available by room service, in the cafe/bar or in the restaurant. This is not good enough for a 4 star (international) hotel and particularly for Camino pilgrims that want to eat much earlier than this. But the hotel was great.

Although clean, dubious as to whether it ought to be rated 4-star. Staff was aloof. Room was clean and spacious, yet very basic. Poor drywall repair job in bathroom.

I like the location. I didn’t like the check in one bit. It got me off to a very poor start in the Alfonso. I have stayed in this hotel 9 times now. I booked the hotel in MY name, I am the person who paid the bill. At the reception at check in my partner gave his name in error and the woman on reception proceeded to book the reservation under his name despite me telling her twice that the booking was in MY name. She said it was not a problem but should have seen clearly that it was for me. I am 62 years old and have never been dismissed and disguarded in this way in my entire life. When I was younger I would have dealt with this snub more forcefully. Some people don’t complain they just don’t come back!

Perfect stopover on the Camino
Stayed here the night before starting our Camino experience. It was perfect for our needs. Felt a little soul-less but otherwise very good. Bedrooms were comfortable with lots of accessories provided including razors and toothbrush sets!

Good hotel to start Camino from Sarria. Rooms are a little basic and somewhat dated but quite comfortable and very clean.

Matrimonal beds
This hotel is old but well maintained with lovely furnishings. We booked a room with a double bed, but in Spanish it has to be a "matrimonial" bed. When we got there, there were no such rooms available, only with twin beds - apparently, only 3 of thekr 60 rooms have proper double beds. The very helpful staff offered us a generous discount on the suite, so we ended up having a great stay.

Mr Garcia helped me with a double reservation that I made. He also helped me with my iPhone charger when I had forgotten my iPhone charger in Madrid. My iPhone battery was at 1 percent when Mr Garcia said he could help. I am grateful for his help. Sincerely Jim Lyon

Upscale Hotel in Sarria
Really nice hotel on Camino in Sarria. Great location and very nice hotel. Note that this is a large hotel — more like a full size property than one might expect on the Camino but room was great, as was the location. Nice dining room with reasonably priced tourist menu.
