Picturesque Apartment in beautiful setting with Mountain and Ski Slope Views

Stylish and modern 2 bed 2 bath apartment (sleeps 6) in the luxurious Chamkoria Chalets. Set a few kilometres away from Borovets in a winter wonderland or summer sanctuary of beautiful forests with incredible unspoilt Rila National Park and mountain views. Enjoy this picture perfect woodland setting with its spectacular sunrises and ski slope views. Sooth the senses and the soul in this idyllic forest setting surrounded by Mountain View’s with easy access to Borovets ski slopes, mountain summer activities and facilities.

The apartment, my home from home and happy place is furnished to a high standard and sleeps 4-6 guests. The two bedrooms sleep 4 guests and 2 guests can sleep on the sofa bed in the lounge. You will feel right at home in this light and spacious apartment with lovely forest and Mountain View’s from the bedrooms, living area and balcony. During your stay you will have complimentary access to the seasonal spa facilities (heated pool, jacuzzi, and sauna) and there is a bar, restaurant and small onsite shop. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at a very reasonable extra cost and is very popular. Reservations must be made and reception can do this for you.

The apartment has a kitchen, washing machine, large fridge freezer and all the facilities required to be self sufficient. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed with a door leading out to the balcony and one with twin beds. Both have views of the forest and distant mountains. There is a very comfortable sofa bed in the living area that sleeps a further 2 people. In total the apartment caters for a maximum of 6 people.

Location

Chamkoria Chalets is located in an idyllic woodlands setting and is a short, but very scenic 10-15 minute drive to Borovets. Borovets is the oldest ski resort and historically the most popular destination for skiing in Bulgaria. Set deep within an expansive mature pine foresting in the unspoilt Rila Mountains in an area that was once royal hunting grounds reserved for Bulgarian kings. The ski area is draped over the ridge spine of the Musala peak, the highest mountain in Bulgaria in the eastern Rila mountains just 70 km south of the capital Sofia.

The Iskar reservoir and largest lake in Bulgaria is a 20 minute drive where you can sail, canoe, kayak, dine and relax at restaurants overlooking the lake and so much more. Golfers can play at the Ihtiman golf course which is a 20 minute drive and the apartment is a great base for exploring the region in summer or winter.

Winter Skiing/Snowboarding and other activities

This is by far the most popular activity during the winter, but there are plenty of additional fun and relaxing activities you can do such as: tubing, sledging, winter horse back riding and bowling to name just a few. For the adventurous you can hire a snowmobile and for those looking to relax visit and one of the many thermal and water spas or make the most of the on sight spa facilities.

Summer Activities and Exploration

Summer in the mountains is beautiful and a great temperature. There are many wonderful possibilities depending on what you like to do. You can hike to the Musala peak, 7 lakes or Black Rock to name a few highlights. Sofia is a vibrant city to explore and the Rila Monastery is a UNESCO site. The lifts are set up for mountain biking and there are beginners to advanced tracks. Borovets has invested in more summer activities such as the adventure park for children and of course you can fish, horse ride, play golf and explore the many spa villages.
The reception is maned 24hrs so there is always someone to help. The reception staff are friendly, and incredibly helpful. They can arrange everything from airport transfers to ski gear and summer mountain hikes and trips to Musala Peak, 7 lakes, or the UNESCO Rila Monastery or to some of the famous spas in the area. The Iskar reservoir is a 20 minute drive away where you can sail, canoe, kayak or dine and relax at the largest lake in Bulgaria.

Location

The apartment is set in an idyllic forest setting a short, but very scenic 10-15 minute drive from Borovets and away from the noise and hustle and bustle of Borovets. I see this as a positive and a major advantage, but it means you will need to use the shuttle bus or rent/ use your own car.

A shuttle bus operates regularly throughout the day during the winter season. The shuttle can be booked for different times in the day from 8am-8pm and will take you from the apartment to the gondola. The service is easy to use and reliable, but is at an extra cost (2 Euro PP/ 4 Lev). The snow in winter can make driving difficult if you are not an experienced winter driver. Taking the shuttle bus means you can focus on your skiing and not worry about driving. If you do hire a car it must have winter tyres as this is the law in Bulgaria.

Car Hire

You will only really need a car in the summer and these can be booked online at very low and reasonable costs in comparison to many countries and collected at the airport. Reception can also assist you with this.

Ski/Snowboard Hire

There are lots of options and packages online and ski hire may even be included if you have booked group or individual ski/snowboard lessons. Everything can be done before you arrive, or things like the ski pass can be arranged once you are here. I would advise booking ski equipment and lessons before you arrive during peak times such as February half term. You can contact me if you have any questions.

Ski Store

There is a ski store on the ground floor of the complex where you can store ski's/snowboards and ski boots if required as well as any other large ski equipment. Otherwise there is plenty of storage, throws and blankets in the apartment.

Check in / Check out

Complimentary early check in and late check out can be arranged if needed providing there are no other guests checking in that day. Otherwise you are welcome to leave your bags at reception. Please message me to discuss.
