Relaxing stay

We enjoyed the property. It had more than we could ever need. The yard was excellent for games, inside has large rooms for large family gatherings. The kitchen was wonderful to cook in. We relaxed and enjoyed our week very much.

Perfect place for a large group including kids

Massive kitchen, lots of space inside and out. Great yard with swing, BBQ, propane fire pit. Easy access to walking trails and 5 mins car ride to Qualicum beach. Owner was responsive and gave us great tips on the area. Clean and wonderful. Slept 8 no problem without using sofa beds.

Family Gathering

We needed a large home to accommodate 7 adults and 4 kids. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed everything about the house, from the huge kitchen table and well equipped kitchen, to the large living spaces and backyard. Sandra went to a great deal of trouble to accommodate our need to avoid asthma and allergy triggers. It all worked and there were no issues. I don’t think you could find a more helpful host. Thank you Sandra.

We had a mouse in the bedroom.

Our stay was Aug 26-29 for 3 families - 6 adults and 5 young children. The place was large and spacious with a well stocked kitchen BUT we had a mouse issue and the owner called me “completely unreasonable” for asking for some money back. Aug 26: ~11pm, we see grey mouse scurry by in the master ensuite. It runs under the door into the master bedroom. We try to look for it but it disappears. We try not to think about it. Aug 27: I contact Sandra for help and she said the mouse must have come in through an open door. Her husband comes to set 2 traps, 1 in the master ensuite and 1 in the bdrm. Aug 28: 730pm, we are all in the living room, when the mouse darts out from behind the couch. We all jump up scrambling, screaming. It runs out again, into the master bdrm, darts around and finally into the closet where it escapes through a hole in the bottom corner. I send a picture to Sandra and suggest she should call an exterminator. We move the 2 traps to the closet and block under the door with towels. She apologized for the inconvenience and offered us 2 nights stay next summer. I told her we did not want to come back as this experience was stressful. Aug 29: We open the closet and find the mouse is caught! I send a photo of dead mouse to Sandra. I told her this was not the experience we were expecting. I asked for 2 nights’ refund, since this is what she offered us for next year. She responds, “I am absolutely not refunding any money!” She calls me “completely unreasonable”.

One of the best homes away from home we have ever stayed.

This house is much better than what you see on the pictures Sandra showed online. Big gourmet kitchen. Super large living area. Everything is sparkling clean. The host not only response to our message almost immediately and also very gracious and kind. We would definitely come back .

Amazing large house on amazing large property

My partner and I stayed here with a number of our wedding party and we could not have been happier with how perfect it was. A nice large kitchen made it easy to cook big family breakfasts every morning and the size of the place is much larger than the photos would let you know. Not once did we feel cramped. The giant living was a great place for everyone to congregate and hangout. Sandra was an amazing host. Knowing it was our wedding weekend she even personalized the living room with a driftwood sign that read "Just Married." This home was the cherry on top of an already magical weekend.

Family vacation

Lots of space for everyone - great to have a picnic table that could comfortably fit all 10 of us with extra elbow room. Kids enjoyed playing in backyard.

Beautiful property

Sandra, your property is beautiful. It was very inviting g from the time we walked through the door, the fresh flowers, the wine for Ian and I, the handwritten notes in the blankets. The cleanliness was definitely above average and there was definitely no shortness of towels. The bed linens were super soft and comfy. Family getaway on the Island

My family (wife, married children and grand children) stayed 4 nights in Sandra’s very comfortable and spacious rancher. Met our our needs 100%. Kitchen was perfect for large group meal preparation. Large fridge, double dishwasher, dual gas oven with 6 burners and cooktop were all put to use. Well equipped with platters, pots, pans and full table settings. We also enjoyed meals in the large backyard with full size BBQ and propane fire pit. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Would stay here again, in a heartbeat.

Spacious country retreat

Our extended family stayed for weekend and LOVED the home and property. Tons of room for everyone to spread out both inside and out. Beautiful private property in the country with plenty of outdoor seating, mature trees, lots of room to play bocce on the grass and for the kids to enjoy the tire swing and outdoor toys. Inside was perfect for board games and the chef's kitchen with long table was incredible for big family meals! Very responsive host who checked in with us via message and left us farm fresh eggs and flowers upon arrival. Many wonderful memories made and will definitely return and recommend to others. Lots of Space

Lots of space inside and out. The common areas were large and the kids were happy! There was one step between living areas (not a problem for us, but good to note). The yard was big and mostly fenced. The road has fast moving cars but there are barriers for safety.

Spring break 2022

Home was immaculate with beautiful tulips on table. Sandra had our ten dozen farm eggs and 39 lb organic turkey in fridge. Two dishwashers and two ovens were great for family get together. Lots of room and great backyard.

December Holiday

This property was lovely. My husband and I enjoyed the master bedroom with ensuite- what a luxury! Our grown up kids had plenty of room with good size bedrooms and enough bathrooms for all. The kitchen worked well for the size of our group with the 2 dishwashers and the large table. We loved having two spaces to hang out. The place was decorated for the holidays which made it feel special and homey. Sandra responded to every inquiry. The kitchen lacked some items which we found out were a result of covid restrictions. Would love to stay there again!

Christmas Get Together

My extended family and I stayed at the West Coast House over Christmas. It worked out perfectly for what we needed. We had lots of room and the kitchen was fantastic for making Christmas dinner. Sandra decorated the house before we arrived, so it was festive and beautiful. We loved the driftwood Christmas tree! Everything was sparkling clean and welcoming. Thank you so much Sandra for making our stay so lovely and stress-free!

Perfect Girls weekend

Our group of 6 women had a fabulous time at Shelly's home. Seating areas were perfect, large quaint bedrooms and number of washrooms was perfect!! Kitchen had everything we needed and then some!! Shelly was a wonderful host! Thank-you, we will recommend your home to friends :)

Reunion: Got a lot of bike riding and golfing in with the other 6 guys.

Property is really big, you can easily play catch or toss a ball. Easy walking to places. House is big enough so no one is cramped at all.

Girls retreat

The property was as advertised, large with many rooms and lots of beds. We " thought" we were closer to the ocean, but that did NOT make any difference as we enjoyed being together and playing games and just catching up!

Great house

A great spot for a group. Well laid out with different seating areas to accommodate movies and conversation. The yard was lovely but we were unable to really enjoy it due to weather. The hosts were very responsive and helpful with tips and recommendations. Would return again!
