Beautiful property
The location was a little bit farther than I expected from the location we were spending most of our time in Portland at but it's an absolutely beautiful drive to get there. The area felt very safe and comfortable. The rental was clean and well equipped to keep us all entertained for hours. The girls enjoyed the pool table and the games available. The furniture was comfortable and laid out for best use. The hosts were gracious and kind. Willing to assist with any need. They had laid out snacks and the kitchen was equipped with all the basics. We really enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable suite
Marina is very accurate in her description of the rental and wonderfully responsive. We had no issues whatsoever. The porch is perfect for coffee in the morning and bubbles for the toddler in the evenings. The hot plate is functional and for our short stay we didnt miss an oven. The parking does feel uncomfortable, the hills are steep and wind around tightly. I wouldnt want to be driving a manual car to this location! Truly, that is our only note.

Stay in May
This was a great place to stay for us and learn our way around Portland. The location is very quiet and you can get hooked on watching the sunsets nearby. The owner quickly responds to your questions. We are flat landers and it took a while for us to get used to the steep streets. This is very good quality property for the cost.

Beautiful, peaceful, and felt like home.
It was an perfect place to stay. It was very very nice, clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was beautiful and the deck was wonderful to sit outside for breakfast or evening drinks. The Host was very pleasant and accomodating.

The View

Delightful
This is nestled in the forest hills of Portland, in a lovely neighborhood. The place was perfect for quiet time but also easy access to the city. Host was very sweet and attentive, without being intrusive. Accommodations were comfortable and relaxing. The greenery behind the house is lush. If you have mobility issues, this rental is not for you and the flagstone pathway and stairs have potential to be, shall I say, unforgiving.

Marina was a responsive host. She was very accommodating when I asked her to adjust the heat. The property is located in a gorgeous and quiet neighborhood and is as described with a few nuances. There is a lovely deck looking out into a forested area and numerous trails nearby. As noted in the property description, there are 15 stairs down to the apartment. These are "long" stone stairs which were fine for me but kind of challenging for my parents, especially lugging heavy suitcases in the rain at dusk. This is something to be mindful of if you are traveling with older people or anyone with physical challenges. Also, as noted in the description, this is a downstairs apartment, which feels nothing like a basement, given the lovely views and high ceilings. However, you do get "noise' from above. Nothing out of the ordinary beyond running water and footsteps, but if this is something you are sensitive about it might be a consideration. The location was great for us.

Very Cool Property
Great property in a cool little neighborhood with a great view. Property was clean and fun. Only concern was that my reservation was booked for 4 people and we had to request the 4th bed / air mattress which the owner had to come down, dig out and set up. Additionally, the owner messaged saying we should have notified them earlier however our reservation CLEARLY states it was for 4 people. There were 2 bedrooms and a couch and an air mattress we had to request. All in all it was good, however I'd advise that the property owners should look more clearly at the reservations as after reviewing it again it definitely stated 4 adults. Other than that little hiccup everything was great!

Very disappointing
We had to ask the property person for heat which she controlled. It was freezing. No stove or oven. All games were missing pieces. Lighting on step very poor at night. Drapes only closed half way in the living room.

We are sorry to hear that your stay with us did not exceed your expectations. The detailed description of our place states: “Please note that we do not have full range or stove in this unit”, we only have a convection countertop oven. We strive to ensure all of our guests have a terrific experience and enjoy staying with us. Each guest has a different preferred temperature. The unit is located in the basement, and since the main thermostat is located on the main floor of the house, the guests have the option to change the bedroom temperature by using wall heaters in each bedroom and the fireplace in the living room. Our guests can always reach us by text or phone call if they are unsure how to adjust the temperature. Our usual thermostat is set to 68-70 F but as soon as you mentioned that your preferred temperature is 74F, we increased our main thermostat to 74 F to make you as comfortable as possible. None of our previous guest mentioned that the games are missing pieces. I will look at the games. If the games can still be played with a missing piece or two, I will keep them but if they can’t be played due to missing pieces, I will remove them. The curtain in the living room can occasionally stick preventing it from fully closing. We are always a quick text/call away and are happy to come and adjust the curtain if needed. The outdoor steps have lights that are set to turn on and off on an automatic timer. I have confirmed that that the timer is functioning and should help make the stairs more visible. We apologize for the inconvenience and we want to assure you that we have fully addressed all the issues mentioned. Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we take all feedback very seriously and will do our very best to ensure that any future guests have only positive experiences with us.

Gem in the Hills
Our visit to Portland was made much more enjoyable with these spacious and delightful accommodations. The description of this property in the "details" section is very accurate. It felt like we were at home. Plentiful supplies of cleaning products, bath accessories, and snacks made it all the more enjoyable. We actually spent one whole day on the deck playing games while the birds and squirrels scampered in the overhead forested area. For our needs, we found the location quiet and serene with many Portland activities within a 10-20 minute drive. We would especially like to thank Marina for accommodating a special request that made our unforeseen dilemma fixable and also for her quick responses to our inquiries. C. Rios

Would definitely come back again!
We came here to visit Oregon for spring break. Marina was super easy to communicate with and very kind. The house is exactly like it was pictured, and my daughter and I loved the pool room! There were complimentary snacks, free wifi, and a variety of dvds to choose from and watch. The deck was the perfect place to watch sunsets and there's a trail for residents and guests about a five minutes walk from the house.

Pleasant Hideaway Above NW Portland
Lovely, spacious facilities thoughtfully designed and personalized by gracious, communicative hosts. Plenty of breathing room and options for activities. Drive from location to Downtown has some twists and turns, but is visually soothing.

Absolutely lovely
The stepping-stone path to the private entrance was always interesting, with bunnies and birds in the morning and stunning (really!) slugs crossing in the evening. The space is like a small house, with two large bedrooms and a spacious tv room. The kitchen had almost everything. The owners provide lots of material about things to do in the area, if you are not familiar with Portland already. Highly recommended!

Quiet location
We rented this place so we could spend our daughter’s birthday in Portland. While we usually plan our trips during the weekend, this time we decided to stay longer and work during the day and explore Portland during the evenings. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and overlooks a valley. We enjoyed amazing sunsets every evening of our stay, and had our dinner on the manicured lawn area overlooking the valley. The only minor issue we had was that the internet access stopped working a couple of times, but Marina was very quick to respond and fix the issue. We’d be happy to recommend this property to our friends looking for a place to stay while visiting Portland.

What a fantastic home/property! Thoroughly enjoyed Father's Day weekend with my 23 year old son!
Outstanding home, wanted to stay much longer! Marina was a wonderful host. The property was described 100% accurately. My son and I are pool junkies and we were not disappointed! Highly recommend this location for a base of operations for Portland, Vancouver and beyond!

Great place to stay when visiting Oregon!
The host family was very welcoming and responded to communications quickly making the reservation and departure process efficient. The place was comfortable, clean and located in a nice neighborhood. (Photos displayed are a true picture of the vrbo). The location allowed us to easily travel to many different parts of Oregon while visiting. Great property in a wonderful quiet neighborgood!
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean and spacious. It is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. In addition to the pool table, there were many DVDs and board games that made our stay fun and entertaining. The kitchen is well equipped, there are many complimentary items. Highly recommend the property, would definitely stay here again!

Forest Heights Retreat
This property is an absolute gem, and so is Marina! Everything was so clean and comfortable. The two bedrooms are separated by the kitchen and living room, so there is plenty of space and privacy for multiple people. Great deck surrounded by mature trees as well. Property is located in the forest heights neighborhood just 10 minutes west of downtown Portland. Perfect for those who want to be close to the action but stay in a quiet neighborhood at night. We especially enjoyed walking 23rd ave in the NW district (Pearl District is great, but 23rd is much more laid back). For hikers, we recommend the Upper Macleay Trail hike to Pittock Mansion (about 2-3 hour round trip -- park by the Audubon Society on NW Cornell Rd). Thanks again Marina, and we hope to return soon!

Northwest Portland
Very nice property, clean and well maintained, gracious host. Upscale & very safe neighborhood, only drawback is that you're about 15-20 minutes from the "fun" part of Portland. Be aware that property is in a lower-level unit of a family house. Only occasionally heard people above us, but had complete privacy. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Peaceful retreat
Our family of five really enjoyed staying here. The setting is amazing and the space was perfect for us. The neighborhood was beautiful and it was also centrally located. We enjoyed two trips to the Oregon Zoo, which was only about 15 minutes away. We also appreciated being close to Starbucks and grocery stores. As we were leaving today my girls asked when we could go again. We have stayed at several places from VRBO, and this will definitely be one of our favorites. Marina did a great job of communicating with us and making us feel welcome.
