Very unique property in the heart of downtown. Made out of shipping containers, very comfortable and clean! Close to nightlife and just down the road from major events like basketball and baseball.

Location was great, halfway between the convention center and Hance Park. There’s a nice coffee shop & bakery directly next door. The building is made out of old shipping containers, definitely a unique space. There’s a cool rooftop seating area as well. Sofa bed mattress wasn't great, but having a full kitchen was clutch. A few things felt unfinished, like the TV not being wall-mounted (but plugged in to an outlet higher up on the wall) but nothing major. It’s in a social area and we could hear people outside late at night, but it was also a busy weekend. No on-site parking which was a challenge at times, but there is some free street parking nearby if you’re lucky. Also - Sonder makes you virtually check-in through their own portal so would also recommend getting all of that done before you arrive as there is no front desk

The elevator wasn’t working when we arrive, but was working the next day. The shower isn’t great and was also not draining. It filled up with water in a less than 5 minute shower. I texted the number available and they did send someone out to fix it. My only issue with that would be that the shower was either not cleaned (they would have noticed it wasn’t draining if they cleaned it) or they cleaned it , saw there was a problem with draining and didn’t care to fix it. Otherwise, it was a good place to stay for a good price.

There is no one on the premises if you need assistance. Response time is slow if you need something. There is a club in the area and you probably need ear plugs to sleep. The location is about a15 minute walk to the convention center which i like. I enjoyed having a bathroom with each room. Beds were comfy. We usually stay at the Hyatt and this gave us each our on room for about the same price.

Really terrible experience.
I'm pretty sure when I booked this in Sept it said there was parking because I was definitely renting a car. But there wasn't any free parking one day it took over an hour trying to find parking and I was exhausted from going on a long trip, there was a lot of weed smell in the elevators and around the place and music was blasting. The sheets were so dirty we had to tear all the sheets off and re-wash them and just use our jackets eventually to protect us from getting weird itchy rashes. Just overall a bad experience for us here.

Very organised and pleasant stay
Very nice accomodation in Phoenix. Well-equipped, laundry, kitchen - all you need for a few days. The apartment was very clean. Nice 10 minutes walk to Chase field, 30 minutes with local bus to Papago park, 10 minutes to AirPort. Everything was well organised with Check-in and out. Historic area and nice restaurants and bars close to apartment.

Nice property, a couple kinks to work out
Pros: Clean & well-appointed; convenient distance from downtown (.5 mile) plus food and entertainment options; bldg was constructed in part w/repurposed shipping containers (very cool, modern vibe!); customer service is accessible via text. Cons: The property is right next to a night club that plays loud music every night until 2 a.m. Sonder provides a white noise machine in the unit; at about midnight on the first night, I understood why! But the primary con is that there are no on-site staff, which presented 2 problems for me: 1) I arrived a few hours before check-in time, and I'd hoped to store my luggage in one of the 6 provided lockers until check-in time, but they were all in use, so I had to schlep my luggage elsewhere then schlep it back after check-in time. 2) There was an issue with my TV that took 3 days to resolve, and I couldn't use the TV until it was addressed. Part of the problem was that Sonder didn't fully understand the issue I was having and about which I'd been texting them. It only got addressed when someone from the Sonder team happened to be in the bldg when I arrived back at my unit on the last night of my stay, & I asked for his help. I was able to show him the issue with the TV, which he then totally understood and addressed immediately, but it was a little too little, too late, IMO.

It was an amazing stay. The only possible down side is the parking and it can be a bit loud because there is a night club close. But we would stay again. It was close to chase field for walking and tons of food and bars around

Overall, was a good stay, bar/club next door that blares music all night so bring noise cancelling headphones. Unit was clean with many amenities. A little unnerving only having code numbers for entry and no one around if there was a problem. Sonder could probably do a little better job in pushing out contact phone numbers in case there is a need or question.

It was a great stay! The rooms were very clean and such a unique place. The only down fall is that you have to park in a gravel lot behind a bar. If they were to invest in a parking lot or structure for the hotel it would have made it better than worrying about my rental car all night

great location, walking distance to many places. All recommendations provided by Sonder were great. Theres a 0 minute walk to great tea & coffee shop. The apartament was super clean. The bed to die for. Lots of closet space and drawers. Safe neighborhood!

Very clean and comfortable. Remarkably quiet for being in the busy arts district. Lots of nice touches like laundry and dishwasher detergent, filtered water and a luggage locker. Will definitely stay here again when I come to Phoenix.

We liked the concept and floor plan of the unit, including how close it was to the airport; however, that was very quickly overshadowed by the following issues: 1. South gate and code did not work. Code we were given for check-in didn't work. We were given another code but since that didn't work either, we were told to use the gate on the opposite side of the building. Because the original gate was never fixed for us, we were inconvenienced the entire duration of our stay by having to use the gate the furthest away from where we parked. Then on the last night of our stay, the code for the gate we frequently used didn't work! It was very frustrating! 2. Parking. Extremely inconvenient not to have designated stalls for the property. Many of the stalls required a permit, were metered, or designated for fire lane. A larger parking problem arose when patrons visited the bars around the property. On a few nights, we decided to walk to dinner so as not to lose our space. 3. Cleanliness. Remnants of vomit on the elevator rug. No one cleaned it the entire week of our stay. The rugs in the room also had large, visible stains on it. 4. Safety. Experienced several vagrant individuals loitering around the property at night. Lighting surrounding the building and along the walkway once through the gate were not bright enough. 5. Internet. Internet was down for a good portion of our stay. This affected the use of the Roku TV and also began to affect the A/C. Will not stay here again!

Too Much Noise
Hotel was great....but there are two clubs across the street that go full volume till 1 am and then there was a construction project also across the street so every monrning, including sundays, I was awakened at 4:30 am. Every day. Luckily it was just me but if I had my wife or kids it would have been a disaster. Hotel itself is fantastic and a great price. If you are a light sleeper or need lots of it this probably not the place for you

While this property is unique as it is stacked shipping containers....literally. Decently finished interior wise, these shipping containers offer a fine amount of space to spread out in versus a small hotel room. With a major problem, as far as this solo traveling woman is concerned. The West Entrance to the this property is in an alley - and the MAIN SECURITY GATE WAS BROKEN. Meaning that anyone was free to enter the property and in quick order make their way to my unit's door. Additionally, this property sits next to a busy bar with loud thumping music.

An interesting building made out of repurposed shipping containers. All is fine, my only complaint is that the air conditioner is not very effective: when cool is on it makes living room very cold when the bedrooms remain kind of warm. Also, it gets a bit loud on Friday and Saturday because of the clubs near the building.

Everything was outstanding except for two things. Sparse kitchen equipment, and no door on the bedroom. The loft is no problem, but any kind of barn door or something for the bedroom off the kitchen is a necessity. But the beds, pillows, sheets, layout, temperature was Awesome.

I love that this place was like a little apartment, it felt like I was living right downtown. The apartment was stocked with plates, cups, cooking tools, etc and had plenty of extra pillows and sheets. The overall vibe was great, I loved the view of downtown and it was close to all my favorite places. Unfortunately, being downtown you need to be aware that there is a club less than a block away that is open till 2am that plays very, very loud music and there is no way of avoiding the loud noise. Also, there is no tv in the bedroom, which made it hard to sleep due to the loud music of the club. They do provide a white noise machine and ear plugs but a tv in the bedroom would have been nicer to use.
