Great rustic cabin with everything you need
This cabin was perfect for our trip with extended family out to see the annular eclipse. The four adults took the bedrooms downstairs and the kids had an absolute blast in the three beds in the loft. The decor was beautiful, with many little details that you don't usually see in vacation rentals. The bathroom setup is great, as the toilet and shower are separated so more than one person can use the bathroom at a time (this was helpful when several people needed to get ready in the morning). The playground and treehouse outside were a huge hit with our kids, and the area is absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed walking the perimeter loop, especially with the crisp fall air. Overall we were really happy with this cabin and would love to come back someday!

Just What I Needed
This place did not disappoint! I was needing a break from life and to disconnect from work and kids etc.. The “Africabin” was exactly what I needed to recenter and connect with nature. I recommend this place to anyone looking to do the same. It was clean, updated, easy to find and the location is gorgeous.

Wonderful cabin, great area
We spent a fabulous weekend in the Africabin. It is far enough away from Moab to be nice and quiet and close enough to visit Bluff, Blanding, and Moab as well. Very comfortable and owners were super helpful. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at the Africabin! Location was beautiful with great views and the cabin was well appointed with everything needed. We were lucky to be able to use the fire pit and had a great time with family for a few short days. Definitely plan to rent this cabin in the future.

This beautiful cabin nestled in nature is a wonderful quiet retreat. Large rooms with an African theme great kitchen, dining and sitting spaces and a whimsical watering can as a shower rose - a throw back to one bucket showers in the bush. Great launch pad to explore the area.

"Upgrade" that was not an upgrade
I had rented the African cabin, but the pipes froze, so the owner told us he was "upgrading" us to a better cabin. It was inferior in every way, less space in every room, no washer or dryer (which is one of the reasons why we chose the african cabin in the first place), no balcony, etc. Also the cabin we were moved to had a loft that was meant for short kids, not the full grown adults we had. I texted Jerry expressing that I felt lied to and he never texted me back, even after 4 days. We had to go into town and use more money to do our laundry and our adults were banging their heads on the super low-ceilinged loft. The location is great and if I had chosen the cabin we were given I would have been happy, but Jerry decieved us and never replied to our communications regarding this problem. I would not come back.

Stylish cabin with great amenities
Overall, we had a great experience. The location is very good. About an hour to get to Arches or Canyonlands Parks. Fairly close to Moab. Very nice outdoor sitting area with the fire pit and grill. Kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to live comfortably. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by two issues. First, less serious and takes some time to getting used to is the water pressure. It is apparently driven by gravity and is very low. It would have been helpful to have this information as part of the listing. The second issue is the number of spiders that we encountered inside the cabin. During our five day stay we encountered and killed at least a dozen. I am not an arachnologist, but I believe those spiders were hobo spiders. These are not very dangerous, but not exactly harmless either. Each morning we would wake up and on the way to the kitchen or bathroom would walk through just a bit of fresh spider web. We realize that that this is cabin “in the woods”, but we have never encountered such a nuisance in any of the other cabins that we have stayed at.

Wonderful Stay!
Clean, quiet, comfortable, nicely decorated and well-stocked. Perfect place for our one-week vacation exploring the area. The on-site manager valued our privacy, but was easy to contact with any questions. The cabin itself has been thoughtfully laid out, and the kitchen is large with a huge pantry and full-sized appliances. The bathroom has a separate shower area and toilet closet, such that more than one person can be using it. There are also lots of built in shelves for plenty of space to spread out. The cabin is also well off the road for quietness, but easy to access. We would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was beautifully decorated with artifacts collected from Africa. We especially enjoyed the quiet location away from the noise of town. There was no air conditioning so the early evenings were a bit warm inside until it cooled down inside, but overall it is a wonderful place to stay.

Nice stay at the Africabin!
My family had a wonderful stay here at the Africabin. It's a lovely home in a quiet area that is an easy drive to major sights from Canyonlands to Natural Bridges and other interesting historical sights in between. The home is comfortable, clean, and well stocked with everything anyone could possibly need.

The Perfect Retreat
Africabin is located in southeast Utah, perfectly located if you enjoy outdoor adventures, and it's appointed so that staying in is also a pleasure. The cabin is close to Cayonlands National Park (Needles Section), Natural Bridges National Monument, Cedar Mesa primitive area, and countless acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. Whether you enjoy hiking, mountain or road biking, climbing, back country four-wheeling, and/or visiting ancient native ruins, you'll find it all nearby. The cabin has wonderful mountain views, is spacious, clean, well-cared for, and decorated with mementos from Jerry and Tina's time in Africa . You will find Jerry and Tina to be very gracious, accommodating, and very respectful of your privacy. It is obvious that they care deeply about providing their guests with top-notch hospitality - when we checked-in we found fresh eggs (from the chickens that greeted us when we arrived), muffins and a bottle of Sarsaparilla to enjoy. This location has it all. We would not hesitate staying here again.

Wonderful place for amazing holidays
We really like to thank you both for the good time we have in your place, we will recommend you to our family & friends and hope to come back an other time in your amazing cabin! Thank you.
