Nicola, the owner was very communicative. He met us out front and gave us the tour. (Perfect English). Upon arrival he also offered to take us on a tour of his vineyard and wine-making facility down the street (€10pp) which we accepted. Very cool, as we are in the industry (chefs/somms). Beautiful setting, very serene and right in the middle of Tuscany. Florence is 30min drive, perfect for a day trip (which we did) and Siena is an hour south (drove through on our way to Rome, 3hrs away). Nicola spent 20min with us explaining how to get to things using maps, including the immediate area, Florence and surrounding towns. Very informative. He recommended a few restaurant and we ate at Il Focolare--fantastic.
The only thing we would change/suggest: the place is on a hill and would have incredible views, but these are blocked by trees (and not olive trees, which I could understand not cutting) that seem like they could be trimmed to allow for the view. The windows also have brick covering them (in a lattice pattern) that darkens the interior and blocks the views.
Nicola runs a very organized and tight operation, we would definitely stay again!
