The hotel is nestled in a very busy neighborhood with tons of shopping and dining options (of course most busy after 8 PM. If you have a car contact them in advance for pre-paid parking in their garage (we didn't know this). Finding parking could be difficult, but since we were a late check-in the let us keep our car in their two-slot check in area. The breakfast was very good with the usual assortment of carcuterie and some decent creamy scrambled eggs. We'd go again.

Great spot
Very nice hotel in Lyon old town with the benefit of on site parking, albeit in a small car park accessed by car elevator. This can be a bit tricky to get in and out of due to limited space but it is great to have a secure place to park. Hotel has quirky school decor which is really well done. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff extremely helpful, despite us not speaking French. Very close to lots of restaurants, bars and historical sites. Easy access to everything on foot.

What a shock. Hotel is definitely not up to the standard of a 4 star. I would describe it more like a bottom level hostel with private bathroom. The room was absolutely filthy.. dead bugs with blood smeared on the walls. The bathroom tile had splatter stains , the grout was filthy (not just old, just never cleaned), there was mold. We felt so uncomfortable that we laid down towels on the floor to walk. To top it all off the water was cold for all of our showers. We arrived later and have a small child so last minute change was not possible. We then had hotels.com contact the property to discuss the stay and the “manager” was just magically never available or around, multiple contacts.. never a response. What an absolute disappointment. Do yourselves a huge favour and don’t stay at this hotel.

The cleanliness of our rooms is a priority, and we are surprised by your comments, which are unusual but very important, and you should know that an action plan has been put in place to ensure that this does not happen again. Following the technical problem relating to the hot water in your shower, as you were able to discuss with our reception manager, we explained to you that this failure of the water heater was beyond our control and that we regretted this unforeseen problem for which a commercial gesture was made to you. This hotel is in a prime location. Easy walking distance to everything. If you are driving, don’t forget to book it in prior.

Cool stylish
Love this hotel ! Fantastic stylish reception area and a real sun trap terrace with bar. Rooms clean and cool decor. Staff so helpful. And LOVE the parking - cool lift to get to it !! Also a fantastic location. Just 5 minutes any way to bars and restaurants. LOVE it !

The breakfast was excellent with even a machine making fresh orange juice. Never had that anywhere before. Excellent choice of breads, jams etc. it was all clean , very comfortable bed. Curtain fabric was frayed and worn, hence the TLC comment. Very good location. Fab roof terrace. Very helpful women in the day time. Night manager had no English. Another lovely touch was free carafes of water to take to your room, either still or fizzy, which saved us a lot of time, not looking around town for shops that sell large bottles of water, which are always doing!

Loved my stay at Hotel College! First, I must acknowledge the staff: 5🌟!! They were extremely helpful, thoughtful, and informative. The hotel was very nice, clean and had a fun theme of school running tastefully and playfully throughout the decor. There was a beautiful roof terrace overlooking the street - perfect for a pre- or post-dinner drink or snack. The hotel was well situated within the old town while being in a quieter part of the touristic area. You are steps from many major sites and a variety of restaurants and bars. Be sure to try the boulangerie at the corner (turn right as you leave the hotel). I’ll definitely stay here again my next time in Lyon.

The College Hotel is located in the middle of the Old Town, very close to the Saint Jean Cathedral or to the Presqu’Île. You can easily walk to visit the whole town, or even ride a bike since the city is bicycle friendly and two local self-service Vélo’v stations are located at less than50m from the hotel.

Stay where the old town is.
located right in heart of Old town area. wonderful walking any where you wish. /right near river and restaurants galore. We walked every where and parked out car at the hotel stack lot, for a fee. Staff is fantastic and very helpful answering questions having advise and recommendations..very very accommodating. Reasonably priced, good size rooms, second floor garden terrace, nice breakfast offered, linens are clean and crisp, internet works fine in room and terrace.

Very kind staff. We were accommodated to check in early which was very helpful. Hotel is clean and has all amenities that you will need. Close to many restaurants and the river. Neighbourhood is easily walkable.

There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel. It was a joy to stay there. We had filtered water (still & sparkling) on tap, a very good breakfast buffet, a terrace to lounge on (with a wine/beer & tapas menu until 10pm). It was excellent. Very happy with all the staff. Thank you. They were all wonderful.

Perfect location and service
The hotel is in an excellent location near the old section of town where most visitors and tourist frequent. The room was spacious, clean, and had nice windows that opened wide to allow fresh air into the room. The a/c worked very well for an August evening. Special water dispenser provided cold still and gas water in a bottle for your room. I cannot on the breakfast but the area was set up very nicely. I would stay again.

This hotel was a wonderful central location to explore Lyon. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. We loved the fun "school" theme throughout the hotel. The breakfast was AMAZING and worth the euros to start your day off right. We were setting off on a bike touring trip and they received and stored our rental bikes securely, no problems. The neighborhood is very walkable with lots to see and do--shopping, restaurants, bars, and sightseeing.

Excellent location right in the centre of buzzing Lyon. Accessible to all restaurants, bars and sites. The only thing was the lift going up to the car park is VERY SMALL. We had a Hyundai SUV and found it very difficult to enter the lift without damaging the car. The lift had lots of dents and scratches where previous cars have obviously banged into it. This needs to be addressed and sorted otherwise no complaints

The hotel is very conveniently situated near Vieux Lyon. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes’ walk. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. During my stay the hotel WiFi was very unreliable and only worked on rare occasions.

Clean, convenient, and comfortable place
Room is clean and comfortable. Service is great. Convenient to move around. Unfortunately the noise ftom restaurants and pubs nearby made sleeping difficult. Toilet is weirdly designed. Water everywhere when you bathe. Even your bedroom gets wet. Would be a credit to the crew if they can check that the room safe is unlocked before next guest move in.

Great location. Unique hotel - all rooms are different. Constructive Comment: Continental breakfast was over priced - 22 eu/day. Was not aware of pricing until check out. Stayed 2 nights. Had 2 cups of coffee & 1 croissant & was charged 44 eu for breakfast.
