I booked the Finnish Design Penthouse for one night and liked the apartment so much that I wished I could stay longer. It was exactly what I was looking for: a modern Nordic-style apartment, with all the amenities you'd expect in your second home, and in a great location on a quieter side street but still within a quick walk from all parts of downtown Helsinki.
After booking the stay, there was a quick check-in process online, and I got the door code that allowed access to the building and the apartment during my stay. There was also a personal online mini-portal with information about access to a gym, wifi password, and other useful details.
The apartment was clean, quiet, thoughtfully decorated, and equipped with all the kitchen and bathroom amenities to make even a demanding traveler happy. The air conditioning kept the place cool even during a hot late-summer day, and in the morning it was nice to shut off the AC, open the windows, and let in the morning breeze. I really liked how much the place felt like a second home and not a hotel room.
The only minor downside was that the bed was so big that there wasn't very much room on either side of it—not even for a nightstand. This wasn't a surprise, though, since the bedroom was exactly how it had looked like in the pictures when I viewed the property online before booking.
