Of all the hotels (4) I stayed in in Japan this holiday, this one had the biggest room. The breakfast was very good. I would stay here again.

Huge spacious room for us, comfortable beds, complimentary ramen supper at 10pm (haha). 2 things fell short - the thermostat in the room cannot do much, the shower control of hot/cold/warm water is really non-functioning (only very hot or very cold). Fix/maintain these and it will be a gem to stay.

Excellent value
Very good room size. Location is walking distance from main train station and even closer to tram stop. Convenience store, drug store and food and drink places all nearby too. Lot of taxi's outside. Some of the room is a little dated but all clean.

Had a free room upgrade fir 1 night stay - despite not requesting it. It was my second stay after a 4 night prior stay a week ago. Breakfast is excellent tho it was identical offering as prior stay. I tried lunch buffet while waiting for check in - good spread for about usd12-13.

Wifi is weak... hotel is about 800m walk from sapporo statoon... a tas far if u hace lots of luggahe. Best thing - large room size... and customer servjce.. who brought ne 2 extra pillows as they are too thin.

The room and bath room were larger than average hotel in Japan and very clean. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice.

Good hotel very friendly staff. Hotel staff spotted outlr car and walked across a street to welcome and guide us to their carpark. Very pleased and grateful for the extra services.

Value for the price
Great place for the price. Stayed here as a couple and the room was nice and spacious compared to most city business hotels. Not incredibly close to the station when walking with suitcases but without suitcases, definitely close enough. Staff were friendly and check-in/out was fast and easy. Convenience store nearby and the main street with its restaurants are about a 7 min walk away

Room size was pretty big. Staff do not speak English so communication was an issue if you need to ask questions. Location was quite central, about 5 min walk from the anything. Carpark is across the street and although it says ¥800/day, I think they mean per complimentary exit ticket.

Easy to get around

The hotel policies are good, even the check out time is 11a.m., I just forgot to ask and come back only around 1p.m., the staffs are still allow and no charge. I strong recommend this with this budget.

Simple hotel with basic neccessities
Hotel is 10mins walk from JR Hakodate, but still difficult to move luggage in the snow. Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was good. Room was very spacious and clean although it looked old. Overall, nice stay but will probably not recommend for winter stay.

The worst hotel but not the cheapest. 1. First step into the room - it felt like a heater. Have to called the attendent to open the window for us. 2. Kettle was so old fashion. It like a cup (yes just a cup, probably enough for one cup of coffee) and place it on the stove to boil the water. 3. The toilet light spoilt in the middle of night. Kept blinking. Didn't bother to get it fixed as we were checking out early the next day morning. 4. The bed/mattress sinked in in the middle. Not comfortable at all. One thing we are all very tired after a long day of travel by train we managed to sleep. 5. Smoking smells in the lift lobby area - quite a turn off for us. 6. Strange to have a Malaysia and Singapore flags at the lobby. First night a Malaysia flag and next day it was changed to Singapore flag. Well. Was disappointed to pay for this hotel and not value for money.

Nice hotel
The room was clean and comfy. Breakfast was good with variety of choices in both western and Japanese style. Free parking space opposite the hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights at this old hotel. 10 minutes walking to the morning market. Was a bit disappointed with the smelly toilet when checking in the room.

The hotel is pretty good and clean. It was not very far away from the nearest tram station, although it requires a moment of walking. It is ok to walk from the main Hakodate station too if you are carrying a big luggage since taking a tram with such bulky baggage would be too difficult. The neighborhood however was a little bit too quiet which makes your late night walk becomes too exciting. The room is nice and clean and is spacious enough for the group (we rented the 4-people room). The overall cleanliness, location and service was good and we've had no complaints. On the checkout day, 2 of our members "forgot" some items and were able to retrieve it back before we left town. The items were neatly packed in plastic bag, and was intact. we were glad it was not forever lost. The only downside is that it was a bit pricey on the day we booked, and the staff could speak better English.

Stayed one night in Hakodate Royal during my visit in Hakodate. It was ok.. but I will not go back again. Cleanness did not meet up to my standard unfortunately. Hotel looks pretty aged. Everything just seems so old. Air condition did not work well in my room. Hotel staff was nice though.

Met expectations.
Room rate was reasonable as I wasn't able to book in advance. We needed a non-smoking room. The room was bigger than the one I had in Kanazawa. Hotel is old but the room was clean. Hotel is about 15 minute walk from the train station.

It was a one night stay. The cost was a bit high for the room that we occupied for the night as compared to the next day cost was more than 50% reduced. Unfortunately, the hotel could not accommodate us for the second night and we had to move hotel.
