Enjoyable Christmas Week Stay
My partner and I had a pleasant stay in the cottage which was private, clean, bright and comfortable, though dated and as we were told, will eventually be renovated. For our stay it was very functional. The kitchen is equipped with full sized appliances and a dishwasher. There is a small laundry room in the cottage with full-sized washer and dryer, great for stays over a few days. The bedroom has a comfortable bed and lovely views out to the trees. The bathroom was small with a tiny shower however. The living room nicely sized with a door to the deck. We felt like we were in a lovely treehouse. The parking is quite tight, so one has to be extra careful to stay in their assigned spot. Our hosts were very responsive to any questions. We loved the neighborhood and would definitely stay again

Wow what a lovely cottage!
Beautiful cottage in good location with amazing scenery and so quiet and peaceful. Cottage itself it well laid out with bedroom and living room at opposite ends and the bathroom inbetween. High quality sheets and tasteful decorations made for one of our best stays in the area.

Easy and relaxing
Needed a quick getaway with my daughter before she headed to college. Location was perfect for multiple options both walking distance and within reasonable driving distance. Shopping, hiking, Tomales Bay for oysters, and great restaurants. Parking is limited to one car, which worked for us.

Nice cottage in a great location
Over all it was good. The cottage is dated and bathroom sink drain was an issue from the start. Beautiful outside deck and bbq. Parking is explained but is difficult if others do not stay to the designated location you are given. If you want to cook the kitchen could use some more pans and dishes (wine glasses). Over all very nice and would stay again and recommend.

Peaceful retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed being able to escape the business of San Fransisco and come home to this quiet and beautiful place every night. As other reviews stated, some areas need updating but for what our family needed, it was perfect. Beds were comfortable, having a washer/dryer was very helpful, there was plenty of room for us to relax in and overall such a great setting tucked in the woods. We especially enjoyed the book of recommended local restaurants, grocery stores and things to do...more places need something like that for first time visitors!

Quiet and Beautiful Cottage
I think this was our fourth time coming here. The bed is very comfortable. The location is lovely and it’s a short drive to everything Marin has to offer. It’s also a short drive into the city. For avid hikers - it’s possible to walk out the door from the cottage and hike up Mount Tam - and even all the way to Stintson Beach!

A welcome retreat
Property listing is accurate. Would recommend not arriving after dark as it is challenging to see the street name from the main road especially if you are not familiar with the area. Good communication with the property owner, very responsive. My overrall rating of 4 stars is because there were many cobwebs on the deck railing near the furniture, in addition to the entryway landing in the rafters. One of the main reasons I rented this cottage was because of the outside area and deck - it would have been appreciated if the cobwebs were removed to the best of the property manager's ability prior to our arrival. Overall, I would definitely recommend this cottage for the setting, tranquility and being very close to Sausalito.

Rustic/Nice
We had stayed on this property before and loved it. We were in the other cabin that has now been renovated and is absolutely beautiful. But it was more than what we needed for the two of us so we rented this one knowing it would be rustic, and we were okay with that. The location is so amazing and so private and so quiet. Yes a few things could be done to make it a little better and I'm sure in time this cabin will get a redo like the other one. Jenny and Sandy are wonderful people to deal with and their dog Rosie is adorable.

A Cottage Nestled among the Flowers
A basic – sort of 1950s rustic – yet comfortable cottage, with views of trees & greenery from all the windows. (Several times at dusk, we watched a fox make its rounds through the bushes below the deck.) The deck, by the way is a pleasant place to sit in the early mornings & late afternoon. A comfortable bed. The two wall-mounted air conditioning units were quiet & remarkably effective. Very clean. The kitchen is well-equipped. New refrigerator & microwave. The cottage is in an excellent location, being only minutes away from groceries, coffee shops, and notable restaurants. Jenny is a congenial hostess, who was quick to respond to any questions we had. Overall, a most pleasant stay. Will look to return in the near future.

Private comfortable stay!
This cottage is perfect for a stay in the Bay Area! Muir Woods and the Marin Headlands are easily accessible! The Larkspur Ferry terminal is a short drive. Park for $2 and take the ferry to San Francisco! The bed was very comfortable and the sunshine coming in was fantastic. We very much enjoyed having access to Sling! Thank you for that! The California poppies were in bloom and gorgeous! The parking was no problem and the property and cottage were exactly as described! Thank you for a comfortable and convenient stay!

Great location for North Bay adventures
The location was great, close to grocery stores and restaurants, but secluded enough amongst trees that it was very peaceful and felt isolated in a good way. It was a great home base for venturing to Muir Woods, Mt. Tam and Sausalito!

Beautiful setting for this cottage with an interesting history.. Well stocked kitchen and deck with a nice tree filled view. Great notebook filled with local recommendations. I hope we can return for a longer visit!

This cottage was a fantastic launching spot for adventuring on Mt. Tamalpais and adjacent beaches and outdoor areas. The cottage was quaint and lovely, with a comfortable bed, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Good communication with the owner. Highly recommmend!

Amazing Stay
This property was so charming and fit our needs perfectly. The owner quickly responded to any messages we sent and was so kind. If you read the other reviews, yes the property is a little out dated, but that didn't get in the way of what a great stay it was. The location made it so that everything we needed was within a 5-10 minute drive away and we had planned to go spend most of our time at Point Reyes and this property was comfortable, spacious, and safe. We ate dinner outside on the outdoor patio and because this property has stairs leading down to it, it gave it more of a secluded feel . I highly recommend you stay here, you won't regret it!

Comfortable and rustic cozy
We stayed here because we were going to visit places where we had lived and gone to grad school here 50 years ago! So the location was a key factor for us. The cottage is dated but very comfortable and very quiet neighborhood. We did not have any direct contact with the host except on line but the instructions received were very helpful and accurate. The cottage is dated, especially the bathroom but it is clean comfortable and a good value for the price. You have your own private deck with gas grill which was especially nice. There is plenty of room for two and the kitchen has everything you need for the stay. We appreciated the beautiful setting and the value of our stay.

Pleasant and peaceful retreat
A comfortable place to stay, with a really nice, rustic ambience, hidden away among the trees at the top of a hill. Jenny responds quickly to messages, and the property notes were very comprehensive. We were there during a hot spell with temperatures into the 90s, and appreciated the A/C, which cooled the place down quickly at night. We didn't experience any issues during our stay.

We would definitely recommend this property. Easy access to all things San Francisco and Marin County. If we had to describe this place in one word it would have to be charming. Whenever we had questions the owner was super quick to respond.

Peaceful retreat
My husband and I loved this property. The bed is very comfortable and as with other properties of Jennys, there is a feeling of living in a treehouse. The bedroom has two nice bedside tables with large lamps for reading and the temperature of the house is easy to regulate with 2 wall mounted heat/cooling systems. We had a washer and dryer which is always a plus when traveling.The kitchen had everything we needed and 2 grocery stores are close by. The property is landscaped beautifully with more than adequate lighting. Jenny checked on us via text to see if we needed anything and responded quickly when we had questions. We will definitely stay here in the future.

Cute little house in the trees and a loud generator.
Darling little cabin with beautiful view of the trees. Fun to watch the squirrels playing in the trees. Clean and comfortable. On the down side parking is a challenge, tiny shower, workman on the property running a loud generator pretty much all day, then parking in the one spot assigned and then I'm assuming the homeowners landscaping outside the house until almost 9 pm without any blinds so lack of privacy. I had to wait to put on pj's until they were gone. But I'm assuming all of that kind of thing has been resolved and hopefully more peaceful and private. I would stay there again for sure if the work was all done.

Private, pretty, peaceful
Beautiful cottage tucked away for a surprising degree of serenity given the population base of the area. It feels like living in a tree house and being surrounded by green is very calming. Clean and functional in all the basics. Quality linens on the bed and bed was comfy. Full kitchen was nice for us as we like to cook (a few more utensils would be great - esp for non-stick cookware). Great light, having the deck a plus. WiFi reliable. Didn’t watch TV. Appreciated the thorough book of house rules and instructions, as the last place we stayed did not have any and this became contentious - so kudos on good management of the property as well. Owners were responsive to questions. Location served us well with a conference in SF and family to the north. A few details to consider: Nail heads raised in several spots on the deck make barefoot walking a bit of a challenge; would be nice to have more screens for better bug-free natural ventilation - there were only 2 screened windows in the house. The AC works great, but at night natural air would be a delight. Instructions for the car gate to the property would have been useful in advance. Lastly, if you are a large person the shower is a bit of a squeeze - doable but tight. In spite of these small notes for improvement, I would highly recommend this beautiful little house. It feels good to be in the space, which is nicely appointed, well-kept, and open. Would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Cottage in the Woods
My husband and I enjoyed our week at this lovely and private cottage. It was close to wine country, oysters and Point Reyes along with the ferry to San Fran. It doesn't get better than this.

Cozy and quiet
Nice little cottage in the charming town of Kentfield just a few minutes from the 101. Random thoughts: Comfortable bed and sofa. Fast wifi. Plenty of channels available on cable. Kitchen has all needed amenities. As advertised, the bathroom is a bit dated but it's clean. Hot water came on quickly. Heating was easy to use and warmed the cottage quickly To get to the cottage, you have to drive to the top of Stetson Avenue - it's pretty steep and a bit narrow. Once you get to the property at the top of the hill, there is a gate that opens automatically and a parking area. Navigating in and out of the parking spot was a bit of a challenge with a larger SUV but should be fine for a standard car. There's a Woodlands Market about 1/2 mile back down the hill that is a bit pricy but is nicely stocked with prepared food and spirits...cooked dinner at the cottage both nights my wife and I stayed there. Great launching point to roam Marin County - stayed on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. for a picturesque 40 minute drive to get to the Point Reyes National Seashore for good hiking - a few minutes north of that is the little bohemian town of Point Reyes that is always fun to explore. This cottage is fairly priced, in a nice area, quiet, and easily accessible. Definitely recommended.

Quiet & Clean
I used this unit while I was on a business trip in San Rafel. The cottage had everything that is important to mean, quiet & clean. Other than the wall mounded, duct free air conditioners, the unit has not been updated. There are some very confusing instructions when it comes to recycling and separating the trash in the unit. Other than aluminum cans, glass and cardboard, I took the rest of my trash with me to the airport to avoid my damage deposit from not being returned.

Peaceful and confortable cottage close To SF
This location is very convenient if you drive your car and want to visit SF in a relaxing way! The cottage has all you may need for cooking even a gas BBQ, dishwasher, laundry. Bed and convertible sofa are very good. There is a slot for parking the car safely in the property. Would come again if staying in SF, it is a real pleasure to take the Golden Gate every morning..!

Centrally located, homey cottage
Stayed in Jenny and Sandy's cottage for a week with my 6 year old and husband. We loved it! Super centrally located in Marin county, just a few minutes off the major interstate and minutes from grocers, restaurants, playgrounds, parks, and more. The house was well equipped for us, could have used some more silverware and mugs, but I also think we probably cooked more than the average guests. Very clean and lots of towels and quality sheets. There was even soap for the washer and dryer which is always appreciated. The cottage was perfect for us, will be back in October and will be seeing if we can rent again. There have been a few reviews mentioning Marin county's recycling/composting program. Everywhere in the county does it, so if you rent a house anywhere in county you will encounter the same methods. It didn't bother me as we compost at home and live pretty green, but as long as one reads the paper the owners leave there is no issue. We have no regrets renting this cottage!

Loved the cottage. Convenient to Muir Woods, Sonoma and the Pacific coast. Appreciated being able to have the windows open and letting the fresh air in. Enjoyed the woodsy view from back side. Restaurant recommendation - Iron Spring Brewery in Fairfax, about 10 minutes away.

Stetson Cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! Any concerns we had were taken care of Immediately. The only changes I would of made was deck furniture but as I was thinking that a beautiful L shaped couch and table were delivered two days into our stay!! The new furniture made a perfect additional outdoor space. The front door needed to be replaced and while we were staying there they came and measured for a new one to be installed. We didn't have a car and found out we could walk to our son's home in San Anselmo and walked to Larkspur and Ross several times for groceries, restaurants and ice cream. The steep hill up to the cottage gave us a great cardio work out! Jen was very accommodating and easy to deal with. We would definitely stay there again.
