The cutest tiny house!
My husband and I booked this tiny house for a quiet getaway! It was perfect! We thought the loft area was quite cozy. We loved watching the boats pass by on the river. The kitchen was well equipped for us to make breakfast one morning. We would highly recommend this place! We were impressed with all of the information and the labels were very helpful. Michael was a pleasure to work with.

On the river
We loved this little cabin on the Fish River. It had everything we needed including many little things you'd never expect (like fishing gear and live bait). It's a great location. We also enjoyed the town of Fairhope.

I had plans to surprise my husband with reservations to stay at this tiny cabin on the river back in October!! We are local to the area and we had something come up that caused us to have to reschedule. The property owner, Michael, was more than understanding to accommodate us having to change our dates!! It was very easy and we’re thankful for how flexible he was! The cabin itself was so cute and quaint!! It was exactly what we love and was very clean and organized!! We grilled steaks the first night and were pleased to find all the essentials we needed for the charcoal grill provided for us!! We even had to text the property owner to ask if he had matches or a lighter to use and he was prompt to provide us an answer back!! All through the night and the next morning it had rained a lot, but we enjoyed having a slow Saturday morning listening to the rain hit the tin roof and watched a cozy Christmas movie in the living room!! The WiFi was very fast and worked great!! We honestly loved everything about our stay and have no complaints!! We also thought it was such a special touch to have welcome gifts when we arrived!! Overall, it was a wonderful place and we would love to stay again one day!!

Wonderful Place to Stay
This is a great little place to stay for a long weekend. The owners communication is top notch and the care they obviously have in making sure you have a great stay is very evident. The neighborhood is great (The neighbors two calico cats are the finest greeters there are, they made fishing so much fun!). It is a tiny cabin with alot of charm and thought put into it. We didn't want for anything while there (we didn't cook anything while there but there is a great array of things there to use). I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

A really relaxing yet convenient location. Everything yiu need to enjoy your stay is right there as detailed in the listing. Had a wonderful stay relaxing by the river and had a few friends over for a cook out and all enjoyed the facilities and tranquility.

Working getaway
We loved staying in baskin by the river! We kayaked up and down the river every day! The cabin was perfect! The owner was very nice and willing to help with whatever we needed. We would definitely recommend a river adventure!

Perfect little getaway!
Our stay at Bass-Kin on the River was everything I wanted it to be. The cabin is super cute and has everything you could need. Definitely get up early enough to watch the sun rise. We took the kayak’s out fishing and had so much fun! We plan to come back as soon as time allows.

Perfect river getaway
Loved staying at this quaint cabin overlooking the river. Two of us stayed and enjoyed kayaking on the beautiful river while enjoying bonfires and grilling out by the water. We also fished a few times. You can literally see the fish jumping out of the water. It’s a very small cabin, but it has everything you need and since it’s perched up high, the views are amazing. It’s an adventure. The location is perfect. There is a restaurant within walking or kayaking distance and the cute town of Fairhope with shopping, great food, and the ocean is 10 minutes away. The hosts were amazing and answered any questions I had. Check in and out was very simple. We’d definitely stay there again.

Cherished Memories
It’s in the details!!!!! Our host thought of everything. The tiny home was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean. The loft bed was very comfy. There was a fresh bag of ice in the fridge. Coffee provided. Any little thing that you might need right down to flashlights, matches, firewood, toiletries, stocked kitchen, tips for paddling… The personalized notes and welcome snacks offered a warm welcome. They also had it ready early so they offered an early checkin. We really appreciated that everything you need to enjoy your time here was included! We didn’t have to think ahead, pack anything special, or rent anything. All we had to do was show up and enjoy. Kayaks, lifejackets, fishing poles, even a pair of River shoes… all there. And on top of that, as someone new to the river, we found it very comforting that the owner mentioned in the book that if we got stuck or lost on the river, he was there to help and just a text away. Above and beyond to say the least! The tiny home is adorable! It’s well crafted, every inch maximized, and artistically constructed to create a stylish space with minimalist materials. Host, Michael, was very friendly, attentive, and equally respectful of space and privacy. You can’t beat the view and accessibility to the River. Truthfully, it’s everything it appears to be online with some additional little touches that made it extra special. We will cherish the experience and the memories for years to come. Highly recommend!

R & R Weekend
The property owner is great to work with. Everything is organized and laid out for you at the cabin! If you want to be on the river or just want a quiet place to escape the day to day routine, it is wonderful! Stores are nearby and you can venture into Fairhope or to Gulf Shores with a short drive. It was absolutely what we needed this weekend!

Relaxing River Fun!
Our weekend at the cabin was absolutely perfect! We enjoyed being right on Fish River- kayaking, our evening fire, morning coffee reading our books, and all the cabin had to offer. We enjoy staying at VRBO’s around the south and this has been one of the cleanest properties we’ve ever stayed in! Every single detail was thought out from the check in process, to the little room under the cabin with all the outdoor, river fun essentials, to all the kitchen necessities. Friday we enjoyed dinner at Big Daddy’s. Saturday we enjoyed coffee riverside, walked the road for a little morning exercise, kayaked for around 2 hours, and headed into Fairhope for lunch at Dragonfly and ice cream at Gene’s Beans. We came back to the cabin and grilled steaks and enjoyed a perfect evening around the fire. Thank you for an amazing weekend! This is a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the regular beach and city crowds and was exactly what we needed!

Wharf concert getaway
We stayed at this property while in town for a concert at The Wharf. The owner was great and communication was excellent throughout the entire process. The property was well kept, clean, and had all the necessities we needed during our stay. The property is right on the river and fishing poles, kayaks, life jackets are provided to enjoy the water (wish we could have had more time to use them). We would definitely stay here again if we were to be in this area again.

Great get away on the river
My wife and I travelled here for a long weekend getaway, and had a wonderful time. Micheal is a wonderful host and has thought of everything. There is a very nice sitting area under the cabin were my wife and I relaxed. We enjoyed taking out the kayaks and exploring the river. Bid Daddy’s restaurant is just a couple minutes drive from the property and the food is very good. We had a wonderful time and would come again.

This was the perfect location on the Fish River, Big daddys food was fantastic-Bushwackers were great. Michael was a perfect host and provide any communication needed. He was very thoughtful in his gift basket of goodies and personalized keepsake for our trip. The location was very peaceful and perfectly located to orange beach gulf shores Florabama etc. We will definitely be back to spend more time in Fairhope and surrounding area. only con of the trip was that we ran out of time to explore more of the area, Fairhope is always amazing and the food experience/choices were beyond our expectations. love for L A

On the river
This property is a fun get away. Right on the river with all the stuff included to have fun. The outdoor living space and fire pit got a lot of use while I was there. Michael has to be one of the best hosts on Vrbo. Always in communication, anticipating needs and ensuring you are enjoying your stay. I would highly recommend staying in any of his rentals

Happy Place with Serenity and Beauty!
First of all, Michael was an excellent host. He reached out to me several days before the trip and gave me great information. Then the morning of our travels he gave us the necessary information for check-in, etc, and he even helped my husband and I with places to go/walk, and eat. He was GREAT! The cabin was spotless, with a personalized note waiting for my husband and I—we were celebrating our birthdays and anniversary. Michael even had a little keepsake bottle of sand with our anniversary date on it//very thoughtful, and a basket of snacks and flavored waters. The view of the river from the cabin was beautiful, and the actual property was wonderful: kayaks, fishing poles, fire pit, outside furniture—we used it all. It was a beautiful (weather-wise) weekend, and we had our own utopia here at Michael’s cabin. Thank you very much for providing us with the perfect getaway weekend! We loved every minute! Your place is precious.

Great Cabin!
We really enjoyed our stay at Michael’s cabin at Fish River. Michael is a very hospitable host too. In a good location on the river, close to Big Daddy’s, and 15 minutes from downtown Fairhope. Well designed layout that utilizes every inch of the cabin. We’ll likely be back.

Nice little getaway spot.
My husband and I had a great time at the cabin. We enjoyed the quiet location with just a short drive to lots of different things to do. The hosts were awesome and even left snacks and activity suggestions for us when we arrived. Definitely somewhere we would visit again!

Just what we needed!
Quick two night trip for a wedding! Location on the Fish River made for fun kayaking and only a quick car ride to downtown Fairhope! Food in Fairhope was amazing and this tiny house was well maintained and the host was responsive and full of suggestions! We can’t wait to bring out kids back!

A Must Stay!!
So what can I say about Bass-kin on the River? Awesome, fabulous, spectacular are just a few words that come to mind. Comfy, cozy and homey are a few others. And Michael? A super host that goes above and beyond in every aspect!!!! We took advantage of all the amenities – the kayak’s, firepit, charcoal grill, and just relaxing by the water and waving to everyone that went by. Michael also stocked the cabin with everything you could think of and much more than he mentions in his listing. Bug spray, beach chairs, spare beach towels, glider at the fire pit, guides to walking trails and beaches and a binder about New Orleans if you want to take a day trip (which we did). I can't say enough about Michael and how responsive he was from the day we made our reservation until the morning we headed back to Ohio. Staying close to "home" - We walked down to Big Daddy’s for a wonderful dinner, and made several trips into Fairhope to wander and eat - Panini Pete’s (fabulous sandwiches and to die for beignets – use the lemon!), Bone and Barrel (not impressed) and Sunset Pointe (delicious food with amazing views) for our farewell dinner. As I mentioned we made a day trip into New Orleans and also headed up to Laurel, Mississippi to see the site for the HGTV "Home Town" series. But if you don't feel like making those trips there is plenty to do nearby or just hanging at the cabin. We've already told Michael that we will be back!!

Peaceful and private...
If you haven't been to Fish River, you're missing out! There were kayaks available to peruse this beautiful waterway which had very little boat traffic. The cabin was a peaceful and private getaway for me to come back to every night during arts and crafts weekend. Super comfy. Highly recommend!

Precious tiny house on river close to fairhope!
Bass-kin was very clean with all the amenities you would need. We enjoyed a small fire outside by the river and exploring the quaint town of Fairhope!

Weekend Getaway
This cabin was so perfect for a relaxing getaway! Close enough to Fairhope to do some shopping. Also loved just spending time outside on the water. The cabin was so functional and quaint!

Relaxation, Respite, Unwind Weekend
Thank you Michael for being such a gracious host to my daughter and her fiancé. Everything was perfect!! The fire pit was a treat while watching the boat parade. We will be back.

It was a Perfect getaway. We loved it and Everything was there for us all we had do do is enjoy life
It was amazing and Michael made our stay perfect in every way We feel we are now family. Michael went above and Beyond to make my husband’s 80th b day special Even bought bait for my husband to fish and got the campfire getting for us.
