It is a small inn, but has been upgraded, the continental breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable and they treat you like a guest.

We would recommend the North Star Inn - a simple motel, with updated rooms that were updated, very clean, and had a little kitchenette. There was also a nice, complimentary breakfast in the cafe next door for the motel guests. We only stayed one night, but found it a great little place to stay.

Right off I-75 and close to The Ark Encounter, it was travel convenient. However, there is no outside dining within 15 miles. The little room had a microwave and small frig, but there is no town - only a gas station and this motel. It was quiet and the bed was comfy but the continental breakfast was very limited (you had to ask for a cup of coffee) and after no dinner the night before, we wish we had been prepared with advanced warning.

Check in was in an adjacent building which was poorly marked. Breakfast was served in same building, the former cafe with very limited selection and didn't open until 8AM.

The inn was a good location for visiting The Ark, shopping and dining. The staff was wonderful and full of information. The only negative we had was the bed was a full size rather than the queen listed and the heat could not be regulated.

Thanks so much for the kind review. I would just like to notate that the bed was / is a queen bed.. this is absolutely measurable and we just purchased these recently.. I have the receipts to prove this. The frame is also queen and the mattress would have not fit if this was the case. (60 x 80) I just wanted to correct that falsehood.. the heat in the room you were in was baseboard heat so it's not too specific with temperature.., if heat is a concern on your next stay.. we do have some rooms with newer units, let us know! . Summer is coming so AC is completely regulated at keeping an exact temp. Thanks for being our guest!

This was a nice little motel. Beds were fine, room was clean and had a little kitchenette. The owners were really nice. This is a great place if you’re traveling and need a place to stop a night. There is not much around, but there is a truckstop a half mile away with a good diner. Continental breakfast at the inn was good.

I think this place is quaint! I felt safe and the room was spotless! Courtesy water and granola bars as well as a personal note from staff. My only thought would be to install adult toilets in the rooms. The one that was in the bathroom where I stayed was too low to the ground. Reminded me of elementary school toilets. LOL

Hello Vickie!Thanks for the lovely review!!The toilets are the standard size in some room, as we replace we are getting the comfort height. The main difference being a few inches taller. But they are not elementary toilets The older we get the more we notice that especially if we have one in our homes. My mother has the comfort height in her house..and when she comes to my house.. we have standard height (older home) and she always comments as well! Ha ha.Thanks for being our guest.., on your next visit ask for a room with the comfort height toilet :)

The room was set up nicely and was clean. The bed slept very well. The arm chair should be reupholstered or replaced. Friendly, helpful staff.

This was a safe, quiet and clean place to stay right off the interstate. There isn't much in that area, but lots of places within 20 minutes. The room had everything we needed. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was great and we'll definitely stay there again.

What a great find on our southern travels. The room included everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. We left before the free breakfast but the cafe was very nice, seen on check-in. You cant beat the price, location off the interstate, and overall experience!

We booked here to go to the Ark Encounter and it was a good value. Not too far from the attraction. However, dining choices for lunch or dinner were very limited in the area.

Thanks so much for being our guest! We generally advise guests to eat at The Ark Encounter exit while they are here ( 10 min away) and there is a little truck stop down the street for a hot breakfast ( we serve a continental at the inn)

Christmas at the ARK
My stay at the North Star is always amazing! I have staying with the family owned and operated place for over a year and I highly recommend it to others that are going to the area! It is close to the Ark Encounter and that is my happy place!

This is a sixties or seventies era property that has charm, is well kept and the proud owners and staff make every effort to be excellent. I can recommend The North Star Inn. We stayed several nights to go to the Ark Encounter as well as The Creation Museum. We will stay here again.

The North Star Inn offered our family a nice, quaint place for our Ark Encounter visit. It was within a 10-minute drive to the Ark Encounter. The room was nice and provided us everything we needed for our short stay. The staff was amazing and was available when we needed something. Overall, a tremendous experience. We will stay again on our next visit.

Very clean, quaint place. Owner and front desk lady were very nice and helpful. The resident cats, Ham and Cheese, were very cute and hung out with us outside some. We will definitely stay here again. Stayed here to go to the Ark and Creation Museum, up from NC mountains.

Great Motel
This is the greatest motel. It is close to I 75, but you don’t hear the truck traffic. The room was spotless and so comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good and the waitress, Amanda, was so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this motel.
