We took advantage of the hotel's airport transfer service, and our driver offered informative tourist advice. However, I misunderstood the transfer cost which was obtained weeks earlier. The quote in Rand had a R1 followed by a space and three digits. The 1 separated from the rest of the numbers without a comma was misleading. Nonetheless, we arrived before check-in time, and after 30 hours of flights, it was refreshing to be offered showers in the spa! The room was large along with a spacious bathroom and the bed was comfortable. The property is dated in areas; thus, it did not rate a 5-star status for us. For such an upscale tourist area, we were surprised about how early restaurants closed not only at the hotel, but all places around the V&A harbor. Lastly, the breakfast buffet is touted as one of the best in Cape Town, but we have experienced far better in other countries. The Table Bay Hotel was hit and miss, but the location was wonderful.
