A perfectly reclaimed cottage with uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean....

Ocean's End is an ideal base to explore the unadulterated splendour of the West Cork coastline. The cottage sits comfortably on the dramatic and rugged Seven Heads Peninsula and is a mere 400 metre stroll from the cliffs of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the perfect location to relax and unwind and immerse oneself in the natural unspoilt beauty of the surrounding landscape. There are a myriad of sandy swimming beaches at its door step and the multi award winning historical town of Clonakilty is a short drive away.
The cottage has 2 double ensuite bedrooms and 2 single bedrooms as well as a main bathroom upstairs. The extensive living space that stretches from a compact, contemporary kitchen through to a sunny South facing dining room, occupies one half of the ground floor. From here you can choose to dine al fresco on the adjacent paved terrace. The lounge is comfortably furnished with a welcoming wood-burning stove and a sumptuous snuggly sofa. Across the hallway the sitting room features another wood-burning stove, a classic corner sofa and a generous tv for movie nights in. The space at the rear of the ground floor hosts a boot room, with guest WC, utility room and a shower, all cottage-styled with a home-makers detailing and skill. A wonderful outdoor seating area is provided, and sheltered garden room, should the weather turn inclement. The log burning fire, complete with cooking racks for grilling steaks and burgers is an enchanting bonus for those long evenings. Also included is a charcoal bbq and a wood-burning pizza oven.
Ocean's End sits adjacent to an award winning dairy enterprise so early morning milking excursions can be arranged, affording you a wonderful opportunity to deeply connect with nature and immerse yourself in the best of what West Cork farm life has to offer. Your reward – a bottle of fresh creamy milk straight from the cow to enjoy with a well-earned breakfast. Don’t forget to pack your wellies!

Wonderful stay at Ocean’s End

We had a great time over Christmas! Deirdre and John are wonderful hosts and their beautiful house offered us more comforts than we anticipated. We took walks to the nearby beach escorted by their dogs, we cooked and reconnected by the wood stoves, and we visited friendly towns nearby. We are grateful for the care and hospitality of our hosts who went over and above to help us properly celebrate the end of a hard year. We hope to go back!

Our family had a wonderfully relaxing week here in Deidre and John's cottage. The accommodation was immaculate and there was nothing that we wanted for. Ireland was at its best and we can't thank our hosts enough for their warm welcome. It was perfect for all our needs.

Slice of West Cork heaven

We had the best time at Ocean’s End. The “cottage” (so much more!) is roomy, well equipped, tastefully decorated and indeed has a view straight out of a picture-book. Deirdre & John are gracious hosts and the location provides easy access to West Cork & beyond. HIGHLY recommend for anyone considering this property!

Owners go above and beyond!

The best cottage to stay at with owners that care about you and your happiness! My first night there, the airline lost my luggage and the owner took it upon herself to go get it at the airport once it arrived! The cottage is clean, welcoming, and cozy with the most beautiful setting.

Idyllic house.

Absolutely stunning property located on a beautiful headland. The attention to detail within the house made this such a special stay. Every amenity, from fresh produce to large fluffy towels, has been given great thought and makes for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and with so much still to explore we will definitely be back in the future. We thoroughly loved our time at Oceans End, such a pity it had to end!

Great house in a rural setting

The absolute best

Wow!!! What can I say about this cottage that hasn’t been already said. This is by far an absolute hidden gem. They go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant and memorable. From the sweet treats upon arrival to John showing us how the dairy farm works. And we really loved the pups, they greeted us everyday when we got back. The only downfall about this cottage, is having to leave. We are already planning another trip. Thank you so much, Deidre and John!!

Ocean’s End

Everything at this home was spotless and perfect. We would not stay anywhere else!! The ocean was right there!! We all thought it was amazing. The farm with the cows was wonderful to be a part of. We saw lots of the surrounding area, but loved coming “home” to this perfect ocean house. It is big, roomy and modern. A lovely location for a vacation. Highly recommended! 5 star accommodation for anyone!

We loved Ocean’s End!

This is an amazing property that I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the West Cork region especially. As a first-time driver in Ireland, although different with narrow and winding roads, I was able to maneuver, albeit slowly, and find my way in and out and to other towns. The grounds with the cows and the ocean nearby were breathtaking, and the cow-milking experience was fun! Not to mention walking with the neighbor dogs accompanying us! Deidre and John are perfect hosts and even provided us with homemade bread, cookies and jam! Wonderful experience overall! I’m so glad we found it and would return and highly recommend!

Stunning Property w Beautiful Views

My family and I had an amazing stay and vacation at Oceans End! We were there for two weeks and could have stayed two months. Deirdre and John are the very best hosts and welcomed us with some fresh goods upon arrival and again during our stay. The combination of the ocean views, the countryside beauty, and the working dairy seamlessly surrounded the property. Daily walks are encouraged! The location is close to anything and everything that you would want for a proper Irish holiday. We hope to return to this magnificent property again with the kids in the future. Deirdre and John offer wonderful accommodation in the perfect setting. The location is great for a real getaway with views across farmland to the sea and yet an ideal spot to explore West Cork. Our family included our 3 year old granddaughter who loved milking the cows and the space to play both outside and with the toys provided. Just great.

A wonderful house with wonderful hospitality

Dee and John's house is just amazing. They are wonderfully friendly and welcoming people who we could have chatted with for hours. Dee decorated the house herself and considered every last inch of the place. It's a wonderful place to spend a few days. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of walks and great pints of Guinness in the local pub. We would highly recommend their house for a few days get away from busy life and pure downtime.
