A snow storm prevented us from staying at the hotel. We sent an email to the hotel stating we we we stranded in Frankfurt and requested to cancel our stay. They stated we were stuck and must pay. Take our travel insurance if you book here.

Many things to like.
There are many things to like. My single room was larger than at some other German hotels. I liked the idea of a "living room" in the hotel with a coffee machine for the evenings. Very convenient for the railway station, bus station and grocery stores. Left luggage is in a locked cupboard which is a better arrangement than some hotels. The things I didn't like were that the in-room safe was not large enough for a laptop. Also there is no a/c, no in-room kettle or in-room coffee maker.

Hotel was not as described, dated and right on a river that was raging when we were there. Glad we had not young kids with us. The room was super understated and did not look at all as pictured...was one of our worse stays, way overpriced

The rooms are on the smaller size, but clean. Parking is a bit tricky with the construction in the area. Breakfast choices are great!

The hotel was really convenient to Lake Königssee and the Eagles Nest. Those were the 2 things on our list for that area of Bavaria.

This may be the most underrated hotel in the town. It’s very pretty, directly across from the bus station, and has a great breakfast included.

I'd recommend that the parking issue be addresses sooner than later. It be nice to give the hotel an excellent rating, but the parking issue and the staff's "meh" attitude about it is discouraging. We had parking when we arrived, however we arrived early and the staff did not offer early check in. So, we went to see some sites. On return, we had to double park and leave the keys at the desk.

Perfection with hospitality
It was such a refreshing pleasure to stay at this super clean and beautiful place. The staff was mdl. attentive, courteous and friendly. They went beyond helpful and kind. Have never ever encountered that. Wird’s can’t convey how they went beyond to help us. We came eurh an injured person and they immediately called their friend, a doctor to come and evaluate her injuries and went out if their way to accommodate us in every way. Note the injuries were not experienced here rather happened in Munich on our way here. I can’t thank them enough so warm and compassionate!!! Recommend the facility it’s gorgeous and relaxing

We loved this hotel and spent three nights here with our grandsons. We had a spacious apartment with a balcony, two bedrooms and kitchen. We rarely used the kitchen due to the amazing breakfast offered by the hotel. Kids loved the indoor swimming pool. And I forgot to mention the gorgeous views we had from our balcony. Perfect stay.

I stayed in Room 003. It was a small cramped space that could barely fit our luggage. It was the size of a closet. The restroom was so small that the shower door couldn’t open fully because it hit the sink…and the toilet was right against the sink on the other side. There was no air conditioning anywhere in the property. Our room was so hot, humid and tiny that it was a miserable experience. Our three day stay there put everyone in a foul mood and ruined our whole three week trip. Don’t make that mistake.

Perfect as base for hiking holiday
Great place and location. We stayed in the apartment block which is two doors down from the hotel itself. Very central and great views from balcony. Staff were great. Breakfast was exactly as hoped even though the hotel was quiet at the time. Couldn’t have been happier with the experience.

Great Hotel Well Situated for Day Trips
The hotel was very well positioned for quick trips into the beautiful surrounds. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond when my lovely wife twisted her ankle somewhat, bringing ice packs to us as required. The bathroom was a little small, but clean and fully functional (this is the only "negative" I can think of!).

Lovely area and a nice, friendly resort.
The river was flooding and they had to close the pool area, but that wasn’t really a problem. The room was much smaller than pictures described, and one had to wedge themselves onto the toilet or shower, but the bed was very nice. They undersold the breakfast. It was amazing! Don’t skip it.

Know the rules....
Great location, great room with a balcony and most of the staff was so wonderful. The reception staff was so kind and helpful. I had a misunderstanding with the breakfast staff. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and was going to take it with me. It's certainly not what is said but how it is said. If I was kindly informed, that food may not leave the breakfast area or it had to be paid for, I would have understood and "followed the rules." But a young man said "you must pay!" I said ok, I'm sorry, I will leave it. Then a female employee said NO you must take it or pay for it. So, I said ok, I will stay and eat it. I ate a few bites and left. Such an unfortunate ending to my otherwise wonderful stay.

Charming property with helpful staff
The property has very nice amenities and is in an excellent location with close walking distance to many restaurants and a short drive to tourist sites. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating! Our room was very spacious and clean (although it was a bit outdated), and had a beautiful view overlooking the river. WiFi worked really well, and they have power adapters/converters you can borrow at the front desk. Breakfast was great, ample parking was available, & the pool was really nice!

Horrible Reception Experience, She should be fired
The reception experience when we arrived was horrible. The young lady was very short with us, and not friendly. We were booked in the apartments and had difficulty getting into the building and room. We could find the room and the key was not working properly. I went back to ask for assistance and she was very condescending and rude with her response. I explained the situation a 2nd time, and her response was worse. There was never any offer for someone to assist us in anyway. In the morning we had a totally different experience. Breakfast was fabulous and the woman who checked us out was extremely hospitable. It's a lovely hotel in a great location. They should be more aware of the people that employ who are greeting guests as she gave us an extremely poor first impression.

Good location to Königssee -6 minute drive ...and like a 15 minute walk up hill to town . It’s a good scenic walk . No air conditioning in hotel so wouldnt recommend in summer . Our trip was week of September 16th and it was still warm . Can’t check in after 800 pm . Family owned property. Food in restaurant was good as well as breakfast Buffet. Friendly and helpful staff

Restaurant on property was good to excellent. Breakfast was avg from experience in Europe, I thought it was missing fresh berries. But dinner at the restaurant was excellent and a great value. We visited on probably on some of the hottest days of the year, so AC would have been nice. It does cool off in the evening but as a light sleeper the traffic noise is load if the windows are opened. Otherwise traffic noise is low.

Very nice stay
We booked a 2 night stay with 2 rooms as a family with 2 teenagers. Overall, very comfortable and pleasant stay. The rooms are clean and tidy, the shower rooms are very nice, clean with shower fittings that are high standard and well thought use of space. Staff are responsive and the restaurant is very good. The staff were most helpful. Used the pool area with its outside relaxing area which was lovely and right by the river. Has a small sauna and solerium. Reception issue tourist cards a real bonus, which gives free travel on local buses and to attractions, really worthwhile. The only disappointment was not having the rooms next to each other or atleast in same level (it is a big hotel) and room 327 had limited head room as it is in the eaves so needed to be very mindful when moving around the room. Has a little balcony. That said, great for short family stay and certainly recommend and would rebook on visiting Berchtesgadener.
