The property is in a good condition. The employees are amazingly helpful and friendly. I think the only problem was the cleaning. I understand that it’s a busy aparthotel so it might be difficult to clean fast before the guests arrive. But there was long, black woman hair on my pillow as well as dirts on the floor. Other than that I would definitely come back and stay here again.

Very low-average apartment to stay
I stayed in room 12. Nice for 2 people not for 4. Good heated system. The suppletory bed (couch) was comfy. What isn't good is the pillows, I asked for a flat pillow because the one we had was extra high but unfortunately they have only this kind of high, hard pillows. There was a window in the bedroom in the ceiling. The system to open the curtain didn't work or the receptionist didn't know how to use it. No toaster in the kitchen appliances. Very limited kitchen stuff to use properly in the kitchen. I couldn't close the couch during the day so the space for 4 adults inside the living room area was small. Not enough space to leave the hand luggage (we didn't have suitcases). No space for the raincoats for 4 people (the wardrobe is small)... Some switches were not working properly. Some lights were broken or not working. Very noisy room. The main door of the hotel doesn't close properly so everyone has to slap very strong the door to close it so they make noise all day and night. Please fix that problem urgently. They didn't replace coffee or tea bags during our 4-day stay. No shampoo, only a bottle of gel in the shower for body and hair (no good quality). The location was good.

Room stunk of smoke and fish! Asked to change room but he want to charge an extra €50! We checked out, no refund given & we lost our money !

Dear, Thanks for your comment. Our staff are not rude, but they are professional. Because they follow our rules and not just accept all you wanted doesn't make them rude or terrible. You paid for a studio room and you received a studio room. According to our staff the room was OK, yet we do understand that you might be more sensitive. As we didn't have any other Studio room we offered you a Deluxe room, and of course you need to pay for the difference. The 50 was also a rate with discount, not even the actual price difference. Amsterdam hotel for backpackers
Golden mansion was another hotel I stayed in during my 21 day backpacking trip. I was new to Amsterdam and the staff were very accommodating, helpful and quite nice. The room satisfied our needs to excess. Everything was diligently cleaned prior to our stay. Kitchen accommodations came in nicely once we found a Lidl just down the street. I’d be happy to stay here again!

On arrival our sofa bed was broken, and was so complicated that even if it werent broken, trying to change it from a bed to a sofa during the day wouldve been unmanagable. the handsanitizer station at the bottom of the stairs was always empty. Great location for getting around.

Disappointing
We booked with my partner an early Valentine’s Day stay, it was meant to be studio apartment with separate living space, double bed and full size fridge. We wanted to cater for ourselves. Instead, we got a tiny standard room, with two single beds pushed together, broken toilet, dishwasher and hob extractor and no space to move about. I went downstairs to complain and was told there were no rooms available for that night... so we were forced to stay there! We were moved the following day but still that pretty much ruined the first day of us being in there! All I can say, avoid room 14!

The property was conveniently located in a central area. Main problem : no parking. So we had to find a spot every day. The solution the hotel offers is to have it parked elsewhere for a $26 fee a day.

the only dislike was a restriction of 10pm -5am on anyone either in your apartment or any noise ...the guy on the door when we came home each night was over the top and that was off putting ...the apartment itself and location fab but we felt restricted with what was almost a curfew

Property is too dark and front desk staff are so rude! Knocking so loud as of no respect for privacy and not welcoming at all and rude! Property is already too small and no line of communication with the staff, no in house phone or intercom which makes misunderstandings happen a lot. Overall rating rubbish!! Not worth my money for all the stress we got from this place! I booked for a holiday not torture chamber! 👎

We felt uncomfortable with all the fees that were threatened. The check in agent was ok, the check out agent was much friendlier. The bed was really hard/firm. No working air conditioner so we didn’t sleep much.

Very close to all attractions. Walking distance. Very nice 24 hours front desk. The apartment was on the first floor, a little dark, but other than that, it was really nice. Parking was available on the street.

I've been to Amsterdam several times and always enjoy it. The accommodation was located in a good area not to far from local attractions and easy access to Afas Live and Ziggo Dome concert venues.

Great value for the price
We were happily surprised by the room when we arrived, because we weren't expecting much for the price. It was basic, but clean and had everything needed. It was a little noisy at night, but no more so than any other hotel in a big European city. It's walking distance from the Heineken experience and museums, so perfect for anyone there for those.

The location was right near public transportation, which made traveling around easy, it just got a little chilly at night so we tended to call Ubers. The sofa beds were not very comfortable but we made do with them for the 3 night stay. My friends had some complaints about not being able to change the temperature on the shower which I figured out, but in their defense it was difficult to twist the knob and find the right temperature that wasn't too hot or cold.

about a 30 minute walk to the centre
Overall the apartment was nice I think we just got unlucky with our room as it was so small, and felt too cramped. I came away with red rashes on my arms and my legs from the towels or bedding. Bathroom was probably the nicest part of the apartment as the shower was really nice! It is about 30 minute walk to the centre with trams very local about 2 minute walk. Bed was fairly comfortable but the pillows were not. Very sore shoulders and neck at the end of our trip! Quite a nosy but clean place to stay.

It was a good guest house.
The Room No. 20 given to us at first was on the top floor and we had to climb 45 steep steps to access it. If we wanted to contact the reception / caretaker there was no intercom / telephone and the person (from Surinam at the reception) refused to give us any phone number saying it was against Company policy. I a 72+ years old man (my wife is 68+)had to go up and down to point out that the shower was only giving us hot water, the lamp was broken, how to operate the coffee maker, the micro wave oven, etc. When we requested for a chan we were informed there was no vacancy and he would leave a message to try to change it next day. The bedroom roof being sloping I a 5ft. 11in. male bumped my hed repeatedly and was unable to sleep. On the next day the extremely helpful Chinese lady at the reception was kind enough to chnagee the room to No. 11 on the ground floor but even here the shower was only giving us hot water. My wife suggested that to cut costs why have such thick towels when thinner ones (which are energy saving when washing) are available. We would also suggest that some detergent be kept in the room so that the dishes can be washed as they are not enough for the diswasher.Further in Spain and France they have a second Bidet in addition to the toilet seat in which we can wash the bottom and this will save a lot of toilet paper.

A bad experience.
When i was checking out they asked me to pay 50 euros because i stayed 1 hour after the check out time.
