Zoi Retreat Hotel Zanzibar

3.0 star property
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (16)
"Quite far to get to from Stonetown but a stunning location. It’s boutique hotel so not the facilities of a mega resort but the local friendly staff arranged a couple of excellent things for me and I really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere. Great food too with sea views. I also enjoyed a massaged in a small hut by the sea so could hear the surf. "

"I was pleasantly surprised at how nice a place Zanzibar View Hotel was. One of the most beautiful and clean (very clean) boutique hotels I have stayed in. I found out that it was just recently opened, and that’s why no previous reviews. Every one of the hotel staff was very pleasant, from the manager all the way to housekeeping. Bush Babies are so adorably cute. They remind me of Australian possums, but are actually a type of lemur. They also live in cities and like to jump onto the tin roofs and then climb into the ceiling. They sound like babies screaming when they call, hence the name. Their fur is super soft, even if it is covered in their own urine...
Cheetah's Rock is a refuge for these and many other critters. It is only open 3 afternoons a week, so the animals are not stressed. You are given a tiny amount of food to feed them. Everyone sits around the edge of their enclosure, so they come to you. They jump from person to person and interact as they want to. They can remove themselves from the area if they are stressed, afraid or just over it.
