For the capital of the country and had a small town feel which I really enjoyed.Being a Caucasian the police should be down too many times while I was riding my motorbike it was a minor inconvenience but Irritating. On a whole I love Vientiane.

The city is dirty with trash and garbage on the sidewalks. No traffic laws excessive speed around pedestrians walking. Roads need repairs. No police presence. Continuous begging and grabbing you for money by old women and their grandchildren.
When you go to the Night Market you have Lao women and children grabbing you and begging you for money. There is no Lao Police protection and to much do uncontrolled traffic in the Night Market area which makes it dangerous to cross the street.
