"Very traditional ryokan and very clean. The rooms were a decent size and the area was quiet. The staff offers you a book with recommendations such as dining and sight seeing attractions as well as how to get there by bus or transit. The ryokan also offers breakfast and other services for a fee, but the breakfast we had was amazing. They also have a bath you can rent for the hour which was a life saver after walking all day. Made for a great authentic experience in Kyoto. Make sure you arrive within the check in hours; it is a family run establishment so they don’t have someone up 24/7."

"初めて部屋に入った時は、とても広く設備が揃っていて好印象でした。 しかし、清掃が細部までされておらず、正直不快でした。特に酷かったのがお風呂で、敷いてあった簀子の下の床の清掃が全くされておらず、気持ち悪かったです。湯船のお湯を抜くと、排水が詰まって床に溜まり、挙げ句の果てには洗面所まで浸水して散々でした。 和室には敷いてあった布団の他に、タンスの中に布団が入っていましたが、くしゃくしゃに丸められていました。また、前の人のヘアゴムが置いてあったりと、とにかく不快ポイントが高かったです。笑ってしまうほど。 ものは充実している旅館だっただけに、とても残念でした。"

This is a traditional house with tatami mats so being very gentle with everything was important, rolling luggages is not allowed on the mats. "Great room. Super nice owners. Very clean and reasonable rate. If you sleep "warm," ask for a blanket because the comforters can make you sweat. Also, the location is very close to the Kyoto Station, but not too close. We look forward to staying there again."
