"Our experience here at Coto Toji was amazing, from the beginning a driver was waiting us at Kyoto station and he was the one that did the check in at the property. His name is Kibune, an old short funny Japanese guy who made pleasant our first hour in Kyoto. "We stayed at a machiya converted to a ryokan for 2 nights. I specifically picked a room with western style beds (vs futon on tatami). The place was exquisitely charming. The staff was extremely warm, friendly and helpful. We opted for the breakfast which was prepared carefully - we enjoyed it immensely. The location was a few blocks from the Kyoto train station but very quiet. My only suggestion is to add a bidet to our toilet - I've come to appreciate bidets since I stayed in a regular...
