"Easy check in and out. Short walk to bus stop and train station. "

"1) Fridge was not cold at all 2) Public bath was out of service and it doesn't seem that the hotel owner planned to renovate anytime soon 3) There was only one room key 4) The drying machine was not cleaned/maintained properly by the staff, so our clothes were still wet after an hour's drying. We paid about 40,000 yen per night for this terrible service and facility, and I'm wondering why the hotel has the audacity to claim itself a 3-star? "

"Convenient to shopping and subway."

"My boyfriend and I stayed at Pocket for several days while visiting Kyoto. It is located in such a convenient area (walkable distance to Nishiki and transit). The property itself is clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful! It is definitely worth staying here for the price! The only complaint I have come from the other foreigners/tourists. Please be respectful of the space especially when maintaining cleanliness as this is a shared space. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend Pocket hotel! "

"This is in a prime area of Kyoto, but the beds are a bit stiff."

"Facility's shared bathing area is very clean, had a passcode for the female bath so it felt fairly safe. Free laundry machines are available but the drier is not very good so it took very long for all my clothes to dry. One of the front desk lady was a bit cold when we arrive to store our luggage. The hotel is located in a smaller alley, but overall the location is convenient as it is within walking distance to the Kyoto station. "

""In total, it was not bad. This was the first time that I stayed at a hostel. For me, washing dishes was annoying. Besides, it could be noisy in the morning or late at night; you can hear everything, which is why I was using my earplugs all the time. The staff were nice, but it was still very exhausting that they couldn't speak English."

"For a capsule it’s very well run. The beds are great and everything is close to where you’re sleeping. "

"Room was a bit larger for Japanese standard but no fridge. Shower was amazing! Check in was automated which was neat. 7-11 in the building for ease. Bus stop and train very close. Commons room very neat with kitchen and games and had outdoor patio that was amazing. Breakfast breads were tasty. Decor was cute as well. "

"This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are very new and slightly larger than your standard room in Japan. Beds were comfy, bathroom was spectacular, and the lounge had free drinks and snacks. About a 10 minute walk from the subway. Would highly recommend this place!"

"Close to everything. Excellent customer and comminication service. Lots of clean towels provided inside the room. Ventillation all throughout the unit for fast-drying clothes after washing."

"It was a great hotel, it was cheap and very clean. The staff were patient and considerate. The fact that there was even an option for single person rooms was awesome. Good option for those of us who don't exactly make a lot. Sometimes, I walk past the building because the buildings are so packed together, it's noticeable enough to identify it though. It has the lettering right above the building."

"Like the cafe/bar in the basement. The 2 buildings across the street from each other makes it a bit inconvenient, for instance, to get to the kitchen from hostel room if they are located in different buildings. Otherwise, clean, nice, comfortable."

"Tucked away in the most beautiful street this place was a real gem, it’s a decent walking distance to most everywhere in Kyoto if your like me and a 50 minute walk doesn’t bother you. The staff are super friendly and understanding of an accident that happened in the room and no extra charge was given too us. 100/10 stay!!!!"

"I enjoyed my stay here. I stayed for one night, but wish I stayed longer. The location was great-pretty close to the areas I wanted to visit. I really enjoyed how close it was to the river and the staff was extremely helpful and kind."

"A good experience, though in the mornings our room would fill with a faint food smell. Presumably from the restaurant directly beside the hotel, even though our windows were always closed."
