"overall, this was a great spot for 3 adults traveling! the area has tons of food options and convenience stores nearby. the hotel had only been open for 2 days when we stayed so the staff was still getting acquainted with the space and waiting on some supplies but overall the hotel was great! the room was the smallest we stayed in during our japan trip, but it was clean and comfortable. easy 15-20 minute walk to dotonbori area, very easy to navigate! 5-10 minute walk to trains to access JR...

"My boyfriend and I stayed at Pocket for several days while visiting Kyoto. It is located in such a convenient area (walkable distance to Nishiki and transit). The property itself is clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful! It is definitely worth staying here for the price! The only complaint I have come from the other foreigners/tourists. Please be respectful of the space especially when maintaining cleanliness as this is a shared space. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend Pocket hotel! "

"I will evaluate this hotel for what it is a low budget hotel. The room is quite small, but for me and my wife that only returned to the hotel at night to sleep, it was good enough. The public bathrooms may be a problem for some people, so have that in mind. The location was excellent imo, 7min walk to Kyoto's central station. Besides, it could be noisy in the morning or late at night; you can hear everything, which is why I was using my earplugs all the time. "Was absolutely delighted to stay here. At first coming from a western country it’s a shock but after the first night it’s rather comfortable. More so than the share stays and other hotels. Was a great place definitely go back. Only kettle in the room but Japan is all about dining out so great to spend the day out and come back to sleep. "
