"overall, this was a great spot for 3 adults traveling! the area has tons of food options and convenience stores nearby. the hotel had only been open for 2 days when we stayed so the staff was still getting acquainted with the space and waiting on some supplies but overall the hotel was great! the room was the smallest we stayed in during our japan trip, but it was clean and comfortable. easy 15-20 minute walk to dotonbori area, very easy to navigate! 5-10 minute walk to trains to access JR...

"Overall is good except the shower are shared by male and female. Our girls were afraid to go to the washroom by themselves. But all in all the property is so affordable, clean with nice staff that speak english."

"This is a self check in and check out. Rooms are very small, especially it you have 3 large suitcase, you can only open each one at a time. Hotel room had stains on the carpet, this hotel open in 2023. You can hear the trains going pass. Breakfast was poor and not much to choose from. Walking distance to the metro 7-10mins. The area is very good with lots of shops, shopping mall and food restaurants."

"It was good. Check-in is a little weird. Staff was a little obnoxious, probably due to La Gaige barrier but could make it work. While most of the hostal was clean, Stairs were always dirty. Lots of Lint. And second night was a little hard to sleep on because neighbors were very noisy. Whenever they closed the door it would make a big bang and they spoke loud. Not really hotels fault but it is good to share this. Food around was great. Yeah, there are a lot of drunk guys but they are minding...

"They won't hold bags for you before or after check out, just have you use coin lockers. Otherwise a great room and stay."

"1) Fridge was not cold at all 2) Public bath was out of service and it doesn't seem that the hotel owner planned to renovate anytime soon 3) There was only one room key 4) The drying machine was not cleaned/maintained properly by the staff, so our clothes were still wet after an hour's drying. We paid about 40,000 yen per night for this terrible service and facility, and I'm wondering why the hotel has the audacity to claim itself a 3-star? "

"My boyfriend and I stayed at Pocket for several days while visiting Kyoto. It is located in such a convenient area (walkable distance to Nishiki and transit). The property itself is clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful! It is definitely worth staying here for the price! The only complaint I have come from the other foreigners/tourists. Please be respectful of the space especially when maintaining cleanliness as this is a shared space. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend Pocket hotel! "

"This is in a prime area of Kyoto, but the beds are a bit stiff."

"Hidden hotel snuggled between easily accessible transit stations. Very nice room, compact but not small by any means. It features public showers and gendered hot baths, which is a great destressor if you can get used to the public bath format - although you won't have an ensuite bathroom (this didn't pose a problem for us at all during our stay). Overall, great experience and a hotel I looked forward to going back to after long days around Kyoto!"

"Excellent location. Very conveniently located, new and clean. My only thing is that it was extra 1,000 for cleaning your pod. I stayed 4 nights so I would recommend include it every 3 nights or something. "

"For a capsule it’s very well run. The beds are great and everything is close to where you’re sleeping. "

"Room was a bit larger for Japanese standard but no fridge. Shower was amazing! Check in was automated which was neat. 7-11 in the building for ease. Bus stop and train very close. Commons room very neat with kitchen and games and had outdoor patio that was amazing. Breakfast breads were tasty. Decor was cute as well. "

"wonderful, nice view, nice place, nice staff. only to note its location is far up on the hill so recommend to take 1 of the 2 taxis on the island when you arrive with your luggages. "
