"For 7000 kzt (about $17) this is a real bargain. Service is fine and the room was reasonably clean (didn’t see any bugs). It’s not right downtown but not too far either (45 min walk or 10 min taxi ride to the historic center). The curtains weren’t that thick so a lot of light comes in the room in the morning- not great if you want to sleep in."

"this is our third or fourth stay at Kazzhol Hotel in Almaty on Gogol Street. We've greatly enjoyed this hotel It's comfortable, staff is helpful, the location is great with a large mall nearby. Breakfast is also excellent."

"We weren't very pleased with this place. For starters, we found out upon arrival that we had to pay 6000 tenge for two people/two nights. Below is the only mention of potential fees: "Hotel fees The price DOES NOT include any applicable hotel service fees, charges for optional incidentals (such as minibar snacks or telephone calls), or regulatory surcharges. The hotel will assess these fees, charges and surcharges upon check-out." The staff claimed this was a newly imposed tax from Feb 2023....
