Stylish converted Coach House

The coach house is tucked away off a lane next to a former church - the church tower is at the bottom of the driveway. The coach house is a traditionally built slate building that has been restored internally as a luxurious contemporary house, whilst maintaining the old ships' timbers and stone walls. There is a garage and entrance door on the ground floor, with an entrance hall and beechwood stairs leading to the main living area. The coach house is within a couple of hundred yards of local shops and pubs, or turning in the other direction, you can walk through lanes and footpaths to the foot of Hoad Hill, a quarter of a mile away.

Hidden gem
We really enjoyed our stay at Moss Tarn. The property was beautiful and in an excellent location. Very close to make Windermere and Kendal. Managed to get out and have plenty of walks despite the weather being pretty rubbish. Was worried that the car parking was going to be a problem...but it really wasn't. There are 2 pay and display car parks very near by...about a 2 minute walk away. Would love to stay again.

Home from home - highly recommended property for short stays in Ulverston.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was everything you needed- a very clean, well equipped kitchen, large fridge. Lovely open plan room to lounge in and table to eat at. Lots of books & a DVD player. Nice clean large shower room, toilet & sink on entering the property. The double bed is very comfy but be aware of the stairs as they are very steep. There is no parking next to the property but you can park on near by streets or a pay & display around the corner. Everything is within a few minutes walk so a great location. Ulverston has everything you need lots of restaurants & cafes. A lovely little town.

Very nice property
We were very pleased with this quaint dwelling just a short walk from the cobbled main street of Ulverston. Instructions were very clear and although there is no parking at the property there is a large pay and display car park just a one minute walk away and it is easy to unload in Tarnside. Entry was very easy and the property very clean. The housekeeper even called round on the first night to make sure everything was ok. There was just 2 of us staying and it was very spacious for us. It can obviously sleep more with the pull out couch and even on the long sofa . I would definitely return if there was 3 of us (1 double and 1 single bed in the bedroom) but for somebody who likes their space it may be a little cramped with 4/5/ but certainly possible. We made the mistake of doing a shop beforehand but there was lots of things we needn't have bought; lots of tea/coffee and condiments/sauces. I suppose it may vary but there were also tins and pasta and even some ice lollies in the freezer. I would definitely check out what is in the cupboards before doing a shop. Overall we were very impressed my only (very minor) criticisms would be that the oven could do with new icon labels so that you know what setting you have it on and the table chairs (which are perfectly fine) do not quite meet the very high standards of the rest of the furnishings. Finally, and it does say it in the property description but please be aware that the bedroom is accessed by a ladder. I was fine with it and my 10-year old son loved it but for the elderly or very young children they might need to use the pull out couch (which we did not use but it looked very nice). Not sure if I will ever be back in Ulverston but if I am I would definitely stay here again.
