Off the beaten path
I was looking for an inexpensive hotel in Shenzhen to spend the night. Mainly wanted to sleep but also wanted to find dinner and a couple of drinks. There are quite a few local eateries but as I am a foreigner it is a bit tougher for me to go to a super local location for food, I can order off of a picture menu with the best of them but I was just not in the mood that evening. Anyway, I walked a bit (20 mins or so) to explore the area and found a place for food at a shopping area with quite a few bars and restaurants (City Square Shenzhen) and met a few really nice locals.

Doesn't look like 4 stars hotel, think is just 3 stars. Staff helpful but not very polite but at least they can help you at the end. Room is old and little dark but bed comfortable and fully equipped so still ok, location not convenient, not close to Metro but u can take taxi from Huanggang border its about 5-10 mins and cheap.

toilet no shower screen, when taking shower entire toilet floor become wet and this is dangerous. Room show sign of old age, hotel seriously need to be renovated and refresh.

overall good. but front desk did not greet. room is cold for winter as there were no heated air coniditon. floor carpet was wet on arrival and most rooms needs to be open and could post security issues as non guest might just hide in room

Overall a good stay in this hotel and in a good neighbourhood close to the metro station. The only bad point was the receptionist. I don't speak Mandarin and it was clearly obvious that there was a communication problem at the beginning when checking in and I did asked if she could speak Cantonese or English. So why continue to speak in Mandarin if we couldn't understand each other? Get someone else. Just bizarre and unnecessary! Another customer waiting at the counter had to translate for her.

Big mistake about this 1 star hotel dont know how rate this 4 star hotel is very dirty no even a/c in the lobby bad smell discusting .stuff varely speak english no one was able to help you at all dont recomende at all.

Not so pleasant stay...........
Booked a room with King sized bed but was told by the hotel staff they have reserved a twin room for me. Waited a while at the counter for the hotel staff to sort out my booking. Finally, I got a room with king bed but the toilet is so small and the door cannot open all the way as there is a pillar behind the door. The design of the bathroom can be better. Breakfast is below expectation - China buffet breakfast. Do not expect bacon and scramble eggs. Hotel allow all guests to extend their check-out time to 2pm. That is the only thing that I like about this hotel.

What ?
At check, after 30 minutes or so, it became painfully obvious that the hotel had NO record of my booking. The fact that I had the reservation / booking confirmation with me was of NO use . That said the checkin process (not) lasted the better part of 2 hours with numerous phone calls to hotels.com service centre in the the USA and Hong Kong. Nope ... find some place else. YOU've plenty of choices.

fair value and great location
This was the sort of pretend-Western style and standard that you'd expect for the price: comfortable enough, all a little shoddy but excellent staff although only one person spoke English so communication was extremely limited. Don't even try the restaurant - go to the little hotpot restaurants at Fuxing Road, just off Fuhua Road. The park is 3 minutes walk and this makes it a great location as clean air is in short supply in Shenzhen, so a walk or run in the morning will keep you going for the day. Overall a perfect place to stay if you don't want to spend a lot of money but need reasonable comfort.
