Nice place but looks are deceiving.
Though we enjoyed our stay at the Timberloft there were many things that could have been done to make the stay more enjoyable. First and foremost is the issue of maintenance and cleanliness. We were aware of the steep steps to the property but they were overrun with vines making the journey up and down dangerous. I had to cut them myself so ensure that noone tripped. While the property is quite charming, there seemed to be very little thorough cleaning done as of late. The place was quite dusty and full of cobwebs. For the price we paid you would expect that more care would be given to the property. The bathroom shower handle fell off, the transition flooring was not nailed down, and food from previous guests was left in the fridge. Though an air conditioner was provided, it could not cool the place down as it was not installed properly. The bbq that was provided barely worked!! Also there were 4 of us staying there and only a few towels and face clothes were provided. There were some redeeming qualities as it was peaceful and close to the beach but overall, I would not stay in this place as there is very little bang for your buck. I was grateful that the cleaning person came and mowed the lawn, but again I had to ask that it be done so that we might enjoy the grassy area. And though she apologized for not being there sooner, she continued to explain that she had not had a day off in 2 months and that she also had a sunburn. That is ironic as we were on holiday and my partner had not had time off in 5 months as he works 7 days a week. What it boils down to is that the cost of the place was 2300 dollars Canadian and for that price , the place should be pristine!!! More care should be given for those that want a relaxing vacay. I would also like to add that the advertised hot tub was not working and no discount was given!! Two days after our arrival, the cleaning lady said that we could indeed use the hot tub and then another lady from the company said that she would both personally use it as it was ot cleaned!!! Really??? This place was falsely advertised forsure! I wonder if the owners know what is happening to this beautiful property or do they even care?? Beware when considering to ret this place. Sincerely, Karen Penney

Lovely location but hot tub was out of order
The hot tub was out of order which was pretty disappointing as we booked this location based on this feature. We were unable to get in touch with the property manager, our phone calls went straight to answering machine. It also would have been nice to have curtains in the living room for the guests who slept on the pull-out couch. Aside from this, the location was lovely & steps away from a quiet beach!

Beautiful, bright home in a quiet neighborhood!
This home was bright and spacious with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. We visited for a weekend in July and was pleased with the quiet neighborhood. The only trouble we had was, upon showing up, the place was not cleaned. We called the property management company and found out that the cleaners were in a car accident that day and that they could not clean the place. They helped us find the laundry room with fresh sheets and towels. The property manager showed up the next day with an apology and kind basket of goodies for us. We were reimbursed the cleaning fee. We are satisfied with the customer service experience and would recommend this home for a small get-together or retreat with friends!

Beautiful property...perfect escape from the city!
The property and house was beautiful, surrounded by lush green. Truly a getaway and escape from the city. The covered patio was a great feature for us as it rained heavily one of the days but still allowed us to sit outside. About a 3 minute walk from the beach...totally bonus! No handsoap in the main washroom..would be a nice addition to have simple things stocked in the place to make it feel more honey and add a personal touch. Lastly....there are a lot of stairs to get up to the home, no problem for us but would be a real challenge for some. In closing...we would most definitely return!

Great location
This was a wonderful location, just a few minutes down the block to the beach! Bit of a hike from the driveway to the entryway up a hill and some stairs. Comfortable for 5 of us with 2 in the king downstairs, 2 in the queen upstairs, and 1 on the pull out couch. However, the upstairs bedroom has a sliding door that only partially removes it from the living area (so it's not completely private). No laundry which was a bummer. Info regarding how to operate the hot tub, how to turn off the house alarm/smoke detector would have been helpful. Beautiful space overall!
