This is a cute bungalow/cottage with bay views. The location is conveniently located to the downtown area. There were no instructions inside the home, so we were on our own to figure out how to lock the door when leaving the house, how to use the tv, and how to run the heater. The bathroom seems to be a work in progress based on the building materials on the side of the house. Some improvements are still needed. The house was missing the fire extinguisher listed in the amenities. Luckily we didn't need it. We were requested to run the dishwasher at checkout, but there was no dishwasher liquid, powder, or pods. Most disturbing, though, was that we discovered the backdoor was completely unlocked our entire stay.

Fantastic Location, Poor Cleanliness
I signed up for this house through VRBO and it booked through Vacasa. I will never book through Vacasa again. Place was not super clean. Bed sheets looked used, pillows smelled sour, duvet looked dingy, tub drain clogged with years of hair, floors not washed, tub drain faucet surrounded by slime, paper wadded behind bureau, placed smelled strongly of dog, AC didn't work; TV in bedroom was not hooked up to cable and no cable in sight. I specifically asked about this before checking in (as a previous renter noted it didn't work) and was told "It was fixed" which it was not. Good thing they had a lot of cleaning supplies as I spent about 2 hours doing laundry and changing sheets when I arrived. I called Vacasa and was on hold for 30 minutes after I checked in. No one answered. Started texting and spoke to at least 6 or 7 people over the span of 48 hours. Each time you text you get someone different so there is no continuity of service and no case number to refer to. You get the same spiel over and over which is "Hello and thank you for reaching out to Vacasa. I apologize for the incovenience". A couple of people left messages that someone would come out, but when you called back to confirm you couldn't connect to the person who called and the process started again.Super unorganized. The obvious goal is to stall as long as possible so you give up. We did get a deposit on the cleaning fee, but at the rate charged per night it should be pristine.

Perfect location
We loved the location of this cottage. The deck was a perfect spot for a dinner over looking Liberty Bay. A morning coffee and bakery treats were only a block away. Bed was comfortable and home was clean.

Serious concerns about this property
I have a series of frustrations but also grave concerns regarding this property. It was very difficult to find the driveway when we arrived after dark. Would be helpful to have more specific directions on that, such as: “narrow, steep driveway right before parking lot along street.” When we first were getting settled in, we had a lot of difficulty using the TV in the back bedroom. When we texted the contact, we were asked whether the cable box was plugged in. Well, there is no cable box attached to that TV. We finally figured out, on our own, how to reconnect the TV to the wi-fi so that we could access streaming services. There should be instructions provided on how to use that TV. The size and layout of the bathroom make it very difficult to use. It was also evident that water is getting behind the bathtub set up which is not hygienic. There was confusion regarding our checkout even after we had paid the additional charge for late checkout. At one point, we were told that the cleaning staff would be arriving at 10am. Thankfully we were able to clear that up, but frustrating to even have that confusion. Now, to the grave concerns— Our last morning at the property, we discovered a large number of ants in the kitchen after having a takeout container on the counter for about five minutes. We reported this to the contact, and were told someone would be coming by to address the ant issue. We asked that the issue be addressed after we checked out since it was our last morning, and I was on a series of back to back online meetings. My husband, who is a contractor, then noticed the source/type of ants - moisture ants which require wet/warm wood to nest in - streaming up from below the countertop which has no backsplash and is not caulked/sealed to the wall. There is also visible black mold growing on the wall next to the refrigerator and behind the cabinetry. We sent pictures to the contact immediately. Frankly, these are signs of potentially serious structural issues, not to mention very real health issues. This feedback is based on multiple stays in VRBO properties without ever having these types of issues. Frankly, given the serious nature of these issues, I am requesting a full refund of the cost of our two-night stay.

Needs a deep clean and exterminator
Location was great...the pictures were deceiving on the outside as the driveway was super tight, and there is a house right in the driveway area and the front yard is a hill right on the street. Needs a deep cleaning as stains/grime on all the light switches, tv never came on, always a weak signal, tried everything to get working, and floors and carpet had lots of crumbs, and there were a few things on the floor in the kitchen that looked like insect traps, although we killed about a dozen different spiders in the house. Definitely over priced for what we paid.

Homey little cottage house
Perfect location. House is decorated cute and very clean We were able to walk down to the quaint older area of Poulsbo. Spent a lot of time on the deck looking at the water. Beds very comfortable. Small AC unit in the main area perfect for the warmer days. There is an old claw bathtub used for the shower. I little hard for my 83 yr old parents but we made do. Will use again in the future.
