We did not stay
When we arrived it appeared the property was not cleaned and the heat was not working. The manager was gracious enough to refund our payment. We are appreciative of that.

BEWARE of this property
We didn't get check in info till we asked for it as we were already on our way... we showed up to a freezing cold house, with a really bad smell. The flimsy little heater in the main room didn't warm anything up, and there was no other heating... the bedrooms had no heating at all. We tried reaching the host many times through text, calls, and email... NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER... we couldn't stay as it was way too cold.. and ended up traveling back home 2and half hours.

We drove six hours from VT to NY and the Host would not respond to us and we could not get into the house. We ended up having to stay in a hotel after driving six hours with our three dogs. The property was not well kept. When we put the reservation in Dec. the Hist said they would contact us 2 days before our stay. We never heard from the host and they would answer our calls or messages. We were charged for this stay.

Private Orange Lake cottage
Our group of 3 adults stayed in this newly renovated 2 bedroom cottage on a private road. The beds were very comfortable, the wifi worked great, the host was easy to communicate with by text, the kitchen and bath (and even washer/dryer available) worked out well, the TV options were great. Thanks for a great place to stay near Beacon, NY where we visited the Dia Beacon and enjoyed walking through the town and hiking in the area.

The place is spotless, renovated and spacious for a cottage. Now the bad part: the windows are sealed shut except for the kitchen window, the screened porch is missing a wall, so the front door must remain shut, each room has extremely bright ceiling spotlights, no reading lamps, no matches for candles, no decaf coffee pods, had to make late night run to Stop & Shop for decaf and matches, generic brand coffee pod provided tasted terrible, no hand soap in bathroom, on arrival date owner still hadn’t provided entry code, owner’s voicemail was full, had to call customer service who emailed owner, unsure if we were going, owner finally texted code to me after I texted, no phone call or apology from owner for the frustration it caused us.

Inside was super clean, modern, comfortable beds, but I would have liked a bedside lamp to read in bed, as ceiling spotlights are super bright in bedroom. An outside light would have been helpful at night. Decaf coffee pods would’ve been helpful. We brought our own K-cups, but they didn’t fit the Keurig. Otherwise, a very comfortable stay and we’d return.

Hot but do able
It was a cute little place, low key and nothing fancy. However, the air conditioning unit was not working and when it was running it didn’t smell great. The bedding kept coming off as we were sleeping. The shower was great!
