I've been staying here for several years, I like the property, and staff. They have decided to cut down on service, and the breakfast has gone from a continental breakfast with choices to breakfast in a bag. The problem with the breakfast in a bag is that everything, except the small apple is full of sugar, a lot of sugar! Many people now have diabetes, and this is a problem for us. One of the main reasons I have stayed here for so many years is the convenience of the breakfast on the property, and the ability to chose what to have without sugar overload. Looks like I may have to make some changes too!

Shared a studio king with my wife for 4 days. It was quiet and clean. The room shared a little bit of wear however was adequately updated. Additionally the breakfast (served between 8am and 9:45am) was outstanding.

Jr cottage is nice with propane fireplace and small jacuzzi tub in bathroom. Nice large breakfast room with good food for those in cottage area. Outdoor hot tub and swimming pool needs to be resurfaced. Walls are a dingy beige because old. Water looks clean but unappealing so I didn't swim.

Very nice staff and quiet and close to the beach. Would have preferred more options for breakfast but wasn’t a deal breaker. Didn’t love the cemetery view but closed the curtains .

Ground front screen door was broken and didn’t lock. Room had no AC and only window is the broken screen door with a view of tombstones. Yes, a cemetery is right there with no wall or fences separating the property.

The website shows $50 for pets. We had a 3lbs little one and we were charged $56. Based on the web pictures we thought there would be fire pits to enjoy but there are 2 sections. The fire pits were on the other side across the street. On our section Some of the rooms face a cemetery. They got swings facing the cemetery which is kinda creepy. The breakfast is not as pics on the site. At the main office they got a section where you can pick up your breakfast. You get a small paper bag with a small apple, snack size granola bar, small apple juice and a muffin. My kids didn't eat them. We Ended up going out for breakfast which defeated the purpose of booking a hotel that offered breakfast.

Great location, one block from beach. Breakfast in the cottages was great. Cottage rooms look newly redone, interiors were great. Exteriors showing some wear. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

This property looks better from the outside than it does on the inside. Things are a little bit rundown on the inside for instance, some things in the bathroom are starting to rust, the beds, not all that comfortable, and there were some broken things in our room. It needs a remodel on the inside.

At first it was not quiet the neighboring room kept slapping their door, but overall everything was perfect for a first timer visiting Monterrey the staff was friendly, I liked the fact that because we stayed at the cottages that we received a good hot breakfast and not the so call continental bag of just a muffin and apple. The unit had a jacuzzi tub my husband was loving it. We didn't get the chance to see the lighthouse but everything else was great.

The property was cool but I wouldn’t have booked a room if I knew they was giving out to go breakfast bags that contained items that everybody prolly don’t eat . Especially having a toddler. I ended up taking her out to breakfast which I thought I would be saving money lol. Also they could use some kind of seal between the floor and rug so ants don’t surface when they smell food. The patio could’ve been dewebbed, if that’s a word lol. Fireplace was awesome though

The room was as expected. Bedding was better than normal. The pool/hot tub were nice temp, even for March. The surrounding area was great. However the breakfast was a bait and switch: the website shows continental breakfast for the lodge. The Expedia listing says breakfast will be made to order. We got a bag with a mushy apple, apple juice, muffin, and granola bar. We were handed a pamphlet saying this was to limit contact during Covid. In March 2024 I consider this false advertising, and any property over promising/under delivering deserves to be marked down.

We absolutely love staying here with our children. When we wake up we get to walk out to the front and see deer grazing in the grass. It is beautiful. The. staff is amazing and sweet. The breakfast is truly out of this world. We can't wait to come back again.

Upon check-in, we found the accommodations as expected and were satisfied. We awoke the next morning to a full blown ant infestation in our room. Thousands of them, everywhere. Upon addressing this issue with the front desk, we were told that a staff member would spray insecticide in our room to “take care of” the issue. I expressed concern about the dispersal of poisonous chemicals in the room containing all of our belongings at which time the employee said they would also “wipe” away the ants. I asked if she could move us to another room to which she responded: “I can get you checked out.” I stated that was not the nature of the question that I had asked. She furiously clicked away on the computer for no more than one half of one second before saying they were full for the night. By that time, the message was clear: the ants are not the nuisance— you are. Since our $800 stay had already been paid in advance, I asked if she would remit a refund for the second half of our stay if we checked out early. She agreed— as long as we turned in our keys within the next 19 minutes and not a second later, since checkout was at 11:00 sharp and apparently a massive insect infestation did not constitute the extension of a professional courtesy in any capacity. We checked out and never once did I receive an apology or any other spoken consolation for the night I did pay full price to stay here. This property is a public health hazard and a disgrace to the hospitality industry.

We loved how close to the beach and tide pools the cotteges were. The staff is amazing! The free breakfast was like being in a restaurant but, with better service. The cotteges have been updated but are looking worn and the beds are way to hard. The pullout coach is unusable and so noisy.

The queen bed was about the break if you even sat on it. The hot water was on cold and the cold on hot. It took running the sink water for 15 minutes before it got hot. They advertise a full breakfast and surprise you with a paper bag with a 7eleven cupcake, an apple juice and a dollar tree granola bar. The Asian lady in the front desk, the rudest person ever. Horrible customer service and experience over all. Still waiting on my refund.

Property was fine, clean and bed comfortable. We checked in earlier so would have preferred a room on the graveyard side. My complaint would be the breakfast. Why bother, chock full of sugar treats other than apple. Why not have offer at the front desk fresh croissants, fresh fruit, maybe yogurt. Or don’t offer it at all. Do not stay here ! Dirty sheets with a blood stain .Beds are full of bed bugs ! No toilet paper , dirty all over , and the window did not work or close properly, all the wind came through all night since the window does not close, very unsafe anyone can go into the room through that window, very outdated dirty cottage !
