The Brown House at Lighthouse Hill Ranch - Pet & ATV friendly - 2,001 acre ranch

"The Brown House" is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom ranch house with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, central air/heat and great fire pit to sit and enjoy the nighttime sky in the Hill Country. You only need to pack your overnight bag, we have thought of everything you will need to make your stay comfortable.

The house sleeps 8-11 people with the use of the couch in the living room (all linens are provided.) Two of the bedrooms have queen beds and the bunk room has two bunk beds (each bunk bed has a twin over full.)

The kitchen is furnished with coffeemaker (coffee, filters, creamer, sugar, Splenda), pots, pans, stove, refrigerator, microwave, glassware, dishes, silverware, linens, serving bowls, cooking utensils, misc. spices, knife block, toaster, paper towels, napkins, basic condiments in the fridge, and spices in the cabinet for cooking, etc.

The living area has a leather furnishings and a foosball table for your enjoyment. You can put your feet up and read a good book, watch DirectTV with movie channels, or head into town and rent a DVD to watch on the television. There is no telephone but there is an internet connection in the house if you really must stay in touch with those everyday hassles!

There is a side porch and a large fire pit with 'rocking' chairs that you can sit in and enjoy a great fire. There's plenty of wood on the ranch - burn all you want! There is also a table and six chairs that you can use to have a meal outside. In addition, we also have a charcoal Weber grill for outdoor cooking (charcoal provided).

If you wish to bring your dog or your horse we have accommodations for them as well. The back deck is fenced and can be used to contain your dog. We ask that you keep them off the furniture and beds and you are required to bring a crate to house them in when you are away from the house ($30 per night per pet stay fee - to be added to your quote after you book). For horses, we have a pipe fenced paddock directly behind the Red House with water & feed troughs as well as a run-in and tack area to keep your tack and feed dry (please note that you will need to rent the Red House as well to bring horses). For ATVs you are more than welcome to bring those as well when you stay at the ranch. We charge $30 per night per ATV (we don't monitor usage you pay a nightly fee to have them on the property). Our trail fees too are added to your quote after you book and we will send you a waiver that will need to be signed before venturing out into the ranch.

Lighthouse Hill Ranch is situated in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on 2,001 acres. With this much land it is your own private park to enjoy (see pictures for a map of the property). The ranch consists of rolling hills, incredible 50 mile views, and has one of the highest point in Blanco County. Enjoy the abundance of wildlife on the ranch from cattle, bird watching, deer, turkey, coyotes, armadillos, jackrabbits, doves and variety of other animals.

Rental of any of our houses or suites provides you access to the entire ranch (both tracts), which has numerous springs, over 4,000 feet of clear rock-bottom creek to swim and tube in (and including a unique creekside hot tub and waterfall grotto), 8 ponds to fish, a seasonal waterfall and miles of trails for riding your own ATV and bikes, hiking or riding your own horse.

In addition, we have five other homes on the ranch available for rental (no two houses are within 1/2 mile of each other) as well as 4 suites at the Arc de Texas. You can find them listed here on Vrbo, simply search Lighthouse Hill Ranch and you can see our 9 other rentals.

We look forward to having you at Lighthouse Hill Ranch!

The area is beautiful! but It was hard for us to get around in my Lexus sedan. We would have been better in an SUV, truck or ATV. The roads are dark dirt roads, which we were not expecting. If you are going with the family for STAYING this is a great place, as advertised! If you are winery hopping - maybe stay on a main road. We had a great time, just had to get back before dark. The house was as clean, but we thought the cleaning crew could have done a better job with details. Overall, great location and nice house! If you can drive in the dark this is a good place to stay and play!

Enjoyed our stay on the ranch.
We had a great time at the Brown House and exploring the ranch. We had our two little kids and dogs. The dogs may have had the best time of all. The house was perfect for what we needed. We enjoyed using the fire pit and the close distance to the waterfall and spa. It’s also not far from Johnson City if you need to pop into town. We’ll definitely be back for another vacation when we need to get away from Austin for a few days.

Wonderful house, location, and amenities
We had a great time at the ranch. The reviews and listing were spot on. Comfy beds, awesome kitchen amenities. The creek spa was gorgeous. So we’ll thought out. The views from the hot tub were great. The only disappointment was the tasting room being closed due to Covid, but we just made the quick drive into Fredericksburg to get several bottles from our favorite winery, then came back to enjoy the property with a few glasses of wine. We apparently went during caterpillar season and the outside of the house and patio were COVERED in caterpillars. My 3yo has been reading about the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar at school so he loved it. He did end up stepping on a poisonous buck moth caterpillar. The ER at Marble Falls is a close 30 min drive and has excellent staff in case you’re wondering. We saw lots of deer and cattle - definitely a hit for my son! So was the foosball table at the house. All in all, everything was great. Definitely recommend and we’d love to come back.

Hill Country Gem
At Lighthouse Hill Ranch you can get away from it all while being central to so many great hill country locations! We enjoyed Enchanted Rock, Fredericksburg and San Antonio which were only a short drive away. And the ranch itself is like your own private playground. Def recommend the Brown House for nice location, shade trees and outside amenities. The house was comfortable and stocked with everything we needed for a few days’ stay. 10/10

Just what the doctor ordered!
It was secluded with scenic views, lots of trails, wildlife, huge fire pit, and plenty to do. The house was clean, kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and everything worked. Everyone was able to relax and had a great time!
