Laurel Canyon is one of the most well-known LA neighborhoods for its rich musical history and interesting community. Extremely centrally located, in the heart of Los Angeles, nearby to Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, the Valley and equidistant to almost everything else in the area. Beautiful location, feels like you're far away from the busy City of LA, yet so very close to all of the most popular sights.

This is an entirely private, self-contained and separate two-level space in half of a wonderful Laurel Canyon home. Cool and comfortable upper and lower levels - bedroom and private bathroom on upper level and living room area/kitchenette on lower level. Guests have the entire space and private outdoor patio to themselves (there are no common areas shared with the owner who lives on the property).

In addition to the queen bed upstairs (sleeps 2), there are a number of sleeping options in the downstairs living room area (sleeps 1 adult + 1 child) including a very comfortable sofa (not a pull-out), sleeping pads and futon mattress (both for the floor).

There's a small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and hot water kettle. Coffee & tea, bottled water, oatmeal and breakfast bars are provided.

Guests have their own parking space.

Air conditioning, central heat with an additional wall heater downstairs, fans.

Towels, Soap, Shampoo, Body Wash, etc. are provided.

WiFi (very fast and reliable service)

TV with basic cable channels and selected premium streaming subscriptions (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu).

Everything you could ask for!
My wife & I absolutely loved our stay at this property! This 2-story home was so comfortable and relaxing. After a long day out adventuring, coming back here and cozying up on the den couch watching TV made this feel like home away from home. There’s this incredible balance between large windows filling the place with light and life, while simultaneously being tucked away in what feels like the most remote, hidden mountain cabin. Stephen made sure we had everything we could possibly need, and also provided fantastic recommendations for the area based on what I told him we were looking to do during our time in LA. Could not ask for more from a host or a more enjoyable place to stay that was exactly as (if not better than) advertised! If I’m being nit-picky, the only thing I could ask to improve, as silly as it sounds, is the shower head in the bathroom. It seemed to be dysfunctional (and will probably have been replaced by the time you read this, future visitor), but it stifled the water pressure and did not provide much water coverage.

Great value in a great location!
Stephen, the host, was communicative and attentive. Although we never saw him nor did we have any issues, we knew he was just a quick message away. He checked in regularly during our 3 night stay but not in a pushy way. The property is quaint, quirky and provided our little family of 3 (parents + 9yo boy) a centralized place to rest our heads and prepare for full days of action either at Universal Studios, La Brea Tar Pits, Hollywood sightseeing or Santa Monica Pier. The free, designated parking spot was much appreciated and fit our Mazda CX-9. Might be a tight squeeze for anything much bigger. The complimentary snacks and water were much appreciated as well! Overall, great value in a great location!

Three day stay
Stephen is a great host. Very friendly, communicative, but not obtrusive. We asked him out one evening and my wife and I and he sat on the patio and chatted for about 1-1.5 hours. He is a native of LA and can tell you a lot about the Laurel Canyon area in which he lives. His digs in which you will stay are attractively vintage, pleasantly accommodating, and a little quirky (bathroom, sink, and water upstairs only), but hey, this is Laurel Canyon...funky is cool...from the '60's. We loved it! Cool outdoor area with a gas fire-pit (we didn't use it, but it is there). Small fridge downstairs and snacks provided at no cost. Very conveniently located to the northern part of LA...up in the canyons. Highly recommended!

First time Vrbo experience is A+
This is my first time using Vrbo. I've used "the other company" for places many times and my standard for a good review is the same: would I book here again? And it's a "Yes, definitely." I'm a former Los Angeles resident, and I love Laurel Canyon anyway. And this place was exactly as photographed and presented in the ad. The Host Stephen is so welcoming and acommodating. I also found the place easy to get to and to come and go as needed. It is a wonderful respite from the City, just as I hoped it would be. Wonderful trees, nature, and light from vaulted windows. Like being in the country, dark at night and bright in the morning. I would recommend the place to family and friends, rain or shine. And I would love to stay here again.

Very generous host.
The host was very attentive from days before my stay checking in through departure. They provided coffee, tea, oatmeal, snack bars, bottled water and beer. Lodging is the backend of the primary residence with a totally separate entrance accessible through the fenced in patio. The inside is two levels with the only water source in the bathroom upstairs next to the bedroom. A kitchenette, TV and living room area is on the lower level. Bed was very comfortable. My son was not able to join me but there were several options for his sleeping arrangements had he been there. A huge window connecting both levels overlooks the patio. Even though it was fenced in and surrounded by trees, I wish there would have been a curtain to close at night in the bedroom. My own paranoia. I would definitely stay again.

Our stay
Nice location; unit is older but clean and comfortable; Owner lives in front house and respectful to our privacy. Very responsive to our requests. Unit can use some repairs. Upstairs is nice and more modern and spacious; Downstairs is smaller and can use some upgrades, but is clean. There’s coffee maker and microwave but no sink nor cooking facilities; we didn’t need that so was acceptable.
