5 Star Gold (since 2014) rated barn conversion: A luxury holiday home to remember.

This is a stunning barn conversion with the well-deserved 5 Star AA and Visit England status. Set in the pretty village of Finghall, Wensleydale there is a pub serving good food and stunning views from its decking. The cottage has breath-taking views from every room, a cosy wood burner to curl up in front of and a wood-fired hot tub looking out across the valley, 50 miles as the crow flies towards the coast. And for the railway children, a regular steam train hooting through the countryside.

A private drive leads you from the main gates to private parking for at least 2 cars (further car parking available free of charge). And of course, there is the wooden cedar hot tub to relax in whilst soaking up to the views.

Wall mounted television and Emma Bridgewater radio. The bathroom is large enough to utilise as a family bathroom with walk in monsoon shower (glass surround), roll top bath with traditional plumbing and hand held shower. There is natural daylight with blinds that are tailor made with beautiful Laura Ashley fabrics.

King: The second room is a set king bed (cannot twin). The room has a wardrobe, dressing table and floor to ceiling windows to attract plenty of natural daylight. Views are the same of the super king room, overlooking the pretty garden and views beyond. The room benefits a separate dressing room area with desk. There is a ensuite bathroom again with bath and hand held shower as well as overhead monsoon shower and glass screen. Bedrooms have tailor made Laura Ashley blinds.

Exterior:
French windows from the open plan sitting room lead onto the patio home to a dining set to make outside dining easy. Down one small step onto a large lawn area perfect for children and dogs to run around. a perfect space to play the garden games available. Pretty established boarders and shrubbery and a well kept summer mown lawn. Views of the cottage's private 3 acre field (dogs allowed) merge into views which reach over 50 miles. At the front of the garden there is a raised decking area with sit soft sofas and a table - a perfect place for morning croissants and coffee whilst stoking up the hot tub. From here you can dip straight into the hot tub via a small walkway. Views are incredible from this part of the garden.

Oh and don't forget Clemmie and Claude - the two Shetland ponies who love to see and be petted by our guests.

Walking
Walks are in abundance and plenty with a local pub to stop for lunch. Lots of local rivers to walk by, 2 or 3 mile loop walks or jogs if you are feeling energetic right from the doorstep. If you fancy a pleasure train journey (dogs allowed) then pop down the road to Finghall train station (around 5 min walk from the cottage). You may even be lucky enough to catch the steam train which toots its way through the fields.

Local Towns and Villages
The local pretty towns of Bedale and Leyburn are only 5 miles (plenty of choice for takeaway food and shops) and if you are needing a film fix then Empire is only a 10 minute drive to Catterick where you will also find Tesco, Next, a large Boots, Domino's pizza and a fantastic modern and clean Nuffield leisure centre which hosts lots of classes, 3 swimming pool and gym. Northallerton (easy 20 mins) is a favourite which is home to Betty's Tea rooms, Lakeland Kitchen shop, Crew clothing and Pizza Express to name a few. You can also park your car there for the day for approx. £4.50 and get the regular train to York (tickets are around £8 in advance).

Lots to see and do for all ages:
Apart from the abundance of jaw dropping scenery then...
Camp Hill Activity Centre (Carthorpe 7 miles)

Tennants Auction House (modern with a delicious café) Leyburn 5 miles

Hare Cottage
We had a lovely few days at Hare Cottage. The location was perfect. It was lovely to unwind and relax in the wooden hot tub after a hectic day. Joanna is the perfect host she welcomed us and was there if we needed anything: we will definitely book again.
