This was a splurge, but we wanted a private open air bath with a Mount Fuji view. There were a lot of options at booking, and I'd heed anyone to research very carefully before choosing.
We chose the Yuraku Luxury Japanese Style Room, but didn't realize that these were only on Floors 1 to 3. When we were brought to our room on the 2nd floor, it was instantly disappointing. Our Mount Fuji view was a flimsy technicality; you could see a sliver if you leaned a certain direction at the window. If it was listed as a partial view, it would have been accurate, but calling it a Mount Fuji view was a stretch, just like what you'd have to do to see it from the room.
After lots of discussion with the staff, they were able to relocate us to the 3rd floor -- an improvement, but still didn't live up to our imagination of what it'd be based on the photos. (Also, since we went in the winter, we'd basically lost precious time to actually see Mount Fuji on a cloudless day.)
For anyone looking to book for the same reason, I'd suggest the Sanri western style rooms with open air baths instead, which cost a little more but are on Floors 6 to 9, I believe. I'd also use Street View to get a better sense of the view you'd be getting, since the building actually doesn't face Mount Fuji directly, so there's a limit to how good the view can be anyway.
If I were to do it again, I'd book somewhere that met all my requirements.
