Wonderful hotel in the heart of Kathmandu!

This hotel was amazing! The architecture was beautiful, the service was excellent and our large room was magnificent! We would stay here again if we were ever to travel to Kathmandu again.

Great hotell with exceptionally friendly staff!

We really enjoyed our stay at Baber Mahal Vilas. Nice clean and spacious room. Exceptionally friendly staff, good restaurants and interesting shops in hotel. Would like to stay there again, given the chance.

Perfect place to stay

Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, the room was beautiful and the breakfast included had a ton of variety. The only issue I had was getting someone to pick up my laundry to have it cleaned but it came back promptly the next day smelling great and neatly folded.

The hotel had its charm and it was pleasant being there but it wasn’t close to anything and the area isn’t clean, sidewalks are broken up and the traffic was nerve racking. The staff were very helpful and breakfasts were very good.

Beautiful heritage property with lots of interesting quirks and fab decor. Loved that we had several dining options. Local craft markets within the grounds of the hotel was such a bonus. Staff were attentive though on one occasion one or two at reception could have done better. Overall very enjoyable stay and wish we could have experienced it for more than one night. Definitely recommend.

The Baber Mahal Villa extraordinary experience

Staying at the Baber Mahal hotel was one of the most memorable stays ever. The list of the good things about staying here is endless. From the ambiance, the nicest staff, the food and drinks, the comfort, cleanliness to the history of the place..... everything was remarkable. The location was great too. A very safe and secure Villa with fabulous eateries, a salon, shopping etc.

Fabulous Nepalese hospitality!

This hotel is amazing! The history and character of the hotel is fascinating. The staff are so welcoming. They welcome you by putting a scarf around your neck and applying a tika to your forehead. I had a massage at the spa which was excellent. My stay was fabulous! No complaints!

The royalty at its best. This place is so beautiful. The architecture the decoration, the designs, the stories that every area told you. Its a storybook setting for travelers. The room was so beautifully designed, patio had so much seating space. Restaurants had such great tasting food. The folk dance dinner event was mindblowing. We had a great time. Staff was so hepful in arranging our spa tratment and outdoor activities including money exchange. Very friendly and helpful. My stay was for 3 days and there was always some fun event going on. The art gallery to shopping at babar mahal is definitely a must. Lots of beautiful photo moments. I definitely would go again.

This hotel has it all

Extremely welcoming staff meeting you with big smiles on arrival. The staff is really determined to make your stay the best 24/7. Be aware that the (young) reception/concierge staff do not always speak a clear English, so you may need to ask more times to get the full understanding of their explanations. The location of the hotel is great - close to main shopping areas, but still in a quiet residential area, with a hospital/pharmacy next door, and an integrated cosy complex with a lot of small handicraft boutiques and not less than four different restaurants that can all keep you busy for days - besides a small pool, library, fitness room and a nice spa. All in all a very good choice if you stay in Kathmandu for more days in a row
